It's always fun to hear people who fish as much as you do still get excited about catches. Perhaps it's just being older but fishing face down into a screen just doesn't have the same allure to me. I'm not fishing competitions though so I guess I can see needing to be on an equal playing field.
This confirms my findings. I fish in the Saint-Laurent of Québec. I only have standard sonar and down imaging. Have same setting as OP. This catches smallmouth less than 20 minutes each throw in the heat of the summer, out fish leeches on my partner's setup beside me in the boat.
I appreciate your videos, they’re always informative and it’s nice to see someone from upstate NY who does these types of videos. My kids and my friends kids are interested in fishing and will often ask to go, but my struggle is getting them onto anything other than small bluegills. Your videos are almost all boat based, but if were shore fishing ponds or along the feeder creeks to lakes like Cayuga or Seneca, do these approaches (including the Texas senko largemouth style) work from the shore as well? I’m not comfortable with a boat and while we have a few kayaks I don’t think my littler kids can handle that yet. Would love your opinion and thanks for the great content!
Caught my pb smallie on the ol Ned recently.

It’s been cool to learn how bass react or don’t react to certain lures it’s been a learning tool for me!

They absolutely will!
Solid tips
Enjoy your videos.. what lake are you fishing?
You have more value in electronics than the cost of my boat lol
Put it on the core tackle hover rig. Better than a drop shot
I use that bait a lot on the Niagara River and Lake Erie works great. Am I rigging it wrong with the flat side up? Seems to work just fine.
Do you use the 3 inch or 4 inch flat worm for smallmouth?
3 inch!
Livescope….mehhh
