    Thanks for the fun video. My '03 Grand Cherokee needs a radiator. The local garage wants $769 to do the job. That's crazy, considering I can buy a lifetime radiator for under 100 bucks, and do it myself. After watching other videos, some mechanics have successfully done the job without removing the headlights, grille or bumper.

That upper hose you just removed @ 9:35..., mines was baked on there.. so i went and removed the rubber hose from both upper and lower lines off the radiator from under the jeep to remove the old radiator.. Now that I put in the new radiator and cooling hard lines on the radiator...I ask.. ..does the top cooler lines from the radiator connect back to the top rubber hose trans line.. or vs... I hope you understand my question.. help a girl out.. pleeese!!

    hey guys I had to buy new translines, the were stuck on the radiator. So i removed them off the rubber hoses. But i did not take note, if the upper radiator trans line connects back to the upper rubber hose or vs. I have seen a diagram.. but I have gotten conflicting replies. . I almost have a good luck at your on 10:26. help a girl out. no garage... so doing this on the street.

    Thanks for the video Dan. Have this same Jeep…bought from father in law. Overheated and mechanic told me lifters are bad. Also have radiator leak…like your video. We have the e fan off but no time to check the relay. Debating to just get rid of but we have some money in a lift kit and new rims and tires. I know you haven’t seen the Jeep but would appreciate your opinion on keeping.

    • @ProjectDanH
      @ProjectDanH  2 года назад +1

      If it's a 4.0 keep it. give it an oil flish. Use rotella oil with zinc to lube the lifters.. also try ristlone.. great additive to help quiet lifters.. radiators are not too hard to fix... and while your doing the rad you can give it a new fan relay (under the passenger headlight) Give it some TLC and you'll be fine!

  • @DEInTheGarage
    @DEInTheGarage 4 года назад

    Now I have always put the fan and trans lines on before putting rad in the vehicle and installing it as a unit. Do you think it is easier to do them one at a time?

    • @ProjectDanH
      @ProjectDanH  4 года назад

      I don't think it matters if you have the whole nose off but I think you gotta put it on first and install it as a unit if your gonna jimmy jam them out without taking off the front. I have you guys a shout in part 2 because your vid is so good and so different. 💪

    Great video. Question how do you drain your coolant from your engine block? I assume If you just open up the radiator bottom valve coolant is still left in engine block and heater core. Thx

    • @ProjectDanH
      @ProjectDanH  2 года назад +2

      That is correct, there will be residual fluid in the block. if you dont want to flush it out with a hose there is a square drain plug on the block behind the drivers side motor mount. they are hard to see as they are usually camouflaged by oil dirt and grease

  • @codcoffee1500
    @codcoffee1500 2 года назад +1

    Question! On the passenger side there’s a plug next to the headlight assembly plug but longer and shaped differently , mines black and yellow and I cant remember what it goes to!

    Those threaded pieces that screw into the radiator for the transmission lines. Do you just tighten them all the way down into the radiator and then tighten the lock nut onto it, and then screw the line fitting onto the threaded piece?
