No kidding! There was none of that then. There were only lighters aflame during most of the concerts I went to, on my own @12 in later 80s, & into some of the 2000s. The phones are SO Distracting, ppl trying to tape things & whatnot, they get in the way of actually seeing the stage. It's like, Just watch the show, for everyone's sake!
@@bhrinc20Actually this concert was in September 2002 because I was there. But I agree how nice it was back then with no phones being held up for the entire concert!
I was definitely at that concert. I was about 14 and my mom let my 17 year old sister and I drive up from our tiny town to Birmingham to see John Mayer. It was amazing. Little did I know that in less than ten years, this would be my theme song when I moved from my hometown to Atlanta. Though I'm sure it speaks to pretty much everyone in their early/mid 20s, but it makes me happy that I know what if feels like to drive up 85 and ask "why Georgia?"
We need to ask ourselves from time to time "Am I Living It (Life) Right?" Sometimes you've got to say "What the Fuck? Make your move" Quote from Tom Cruise's Risky Business (1983). Watch it if you haven't. It's the 1st time I remember hearing WTF.
I turn 40 in November and this song has been in rotation for me all year. I didn’t understand it then but it has so much meaning now. Am I living this shit right or is it time to drive off to something different? Im excited, nervous, scared and hopeful. Keep me lifted everyone.
This song gave me the Kahoonas to move the the Southwest in 2004. It then helped me move to Ecuador from the Grand Canyon in November 2024. I'm 60 years old and am finally truly happy. This song and Metallica's Roam can support one when family and friends say you're nut-so. Who is laughing now??? I'm as happy as happy can be. Thank you American song writers!
5 Years ago I discovered this wonderful man. Changed my life got me through the good times, the bad, everything never felt so in touch with an artist than with John Mayer. Got to see him in Atlanta this year in August and when he started playing I just bursted out crying, never would have imagined going to a concert and doing that but that's the power of music. He inspired me to start my own youtube and I just made my first cover and nothing better than starting with one of his songs, and mark my words one day I'm gonna play with him I don't care how long it takes!....
I remember when this song came out, I was approaching my 25th birthday and the lyrics "worried about the outcome of a still verdictless life" and "quarter-life crisis" really stuck out with me. At the time I had dropped out of college with less than a year left for my degree and I was just working and living a fruitless life. I think this song really got me to get my life in order (or at least an order I needed). I ended up joining the Army for 6 years. Now Im out of the Army and back in college
There are so many good lines there. I think my favorite is: Everybody is just a stranger but That's the danger in going my own way I guess it's the price I have to pay Still "everything happens for a reason"

I love John Mayer's music and voice. It just dawned on me who he reminds me of. Back in the late 60's early 70's Donavon was huge. John's voice has a lot of the same qualites that Donavon's had. Wow that was a small epiphany! Hahaha love ya John.

I remember this song on repeat in my own quarter life crisis. No idea what was to come, or where my oath would take me. I was so stressed about my future a d being able to support myself and my son. 25 and only halfway thru college, and working, and running my house on my own. It was hard!! But i made it through and finished college at 30 years old. I felt so behind my peers. But I found my calling (Corporate Recruiting) and making over 6 figures. Bought my own home. Had another son. Its going pretty good:)
I once had a small tour with my band in japan and usually, this is the song we choose to play at the end in a acoustic format. The chorus speak so much to me. Few years later and i still playing music. Thanks John

This is like heroin for the ears. John Mayer is perhaps good friends with God.. so much talent in one man is plain unfair. Super song writing + insane guitar skills + ill fitting trousers make him look like a true champion. And 1:28.. WOW!!!
College girls… I get older… they keep listening to John Mayer and thinking about life and stuff. That’s wholesome. That’s smart. That’s cute. I like that.

+Reggae Fan If you think Good Ole Days is better than what John has written, you haven't heard enough of him. Check out "Neon" and his cover or Jimi Hendrix's "Bold As Love." John has a whole nother level of diversity and musicianship in his guitar playing. I agree, Doherty has a much fuller voice, but his guitar skills simply can't match what John can do. They have different styles, so in my opinion, you can't say that either one's music is "better."
Kind of refreshing to see people actually enjoying the performance. Fast forward 10 years, now most are too concentrated on capturing video at a concert to appreciate the artists.

I listened to the other songs in that concert i think he's a little too high that night that the other songs that he sang is a bit out of controll maybe they deleted the whole record that's why i couldn't find it anymore lol
Inspiring guitarist he is! Why cant more acoustic artist play in this style? theres so many liek secondhand guitar musicians out there with same sounds..
this is the type of song you grow up listening to, then, years later you hear it again, recognizing the truth and beauty of its words.
And why it so?

I am driving up
85 in the
Kind of morning that
Lasts all afternoon
I'm just stuck inside the gloom
Four more exits to
My apartment but
I am tempted to
Keep the car in drive
And leave it all behind
'Cause I wonder sometimes
About the outcome
Of a still verdictless life
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia why?
I rent a room and I
Fill the spaces with
Wooden places to
Make it feel like home
But all I feel's alone
It might be a quarter life crisis
Or just a stirring in my soul
Either way
I wonder sometimes about the outcome
Of a still verdictless life
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia why?
So what so I've got a smile on
But it's hiding the quiet superstitions in my head
Don't believe me
Don't believe me
When I say I've got it down
Everybody is
Just a stranger but
That's the danger in
Going my own way
I guess it's a price I have to pay
Still
"Everything happens
For a reason"
Is no reason not to ask myself
If I'm living it right
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, tell me why
Why, why Georgia why?

Am I living it right, am I living it right?
Why tell me, why
Why, why Georgia, why🎤🎶
Let's put his personality aside. He is one hell of a musician. And gives one awesome concert. Airgo, he rocks. Long live John Mayer
John Mayer is 100% the best
110%
Maybe John Mayer’s best song ever
This is like heroin for the ears. John Mayer is perhaps good friends with God.. so much talent in one man is plain unfair. Super song writing + insane guitar skills + ill fitting trousers make him look like a true champion. And 1:28.. WOW!!!
College girls…
I get older… they keep listening to John Mayer and thinking about life and stuff.
That’s wholesome.
That’s smart.
That’s cute.
I like that.
Always liked John Mayer but now I'm in love...don't know why or how it happened lol 😍😍
l agree with you, indeed John Mayer is a great and
talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,
he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and
always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of
beautiful days…
I got this DVD (Any Given Thursday) 5 months ago , every week i'm watching this again :) Such a great DVD :))
pants makers in the 90's:
"these look a bit big"
"ehh they'll grow into them"
These pants are like a watered down version of the JNCO and later Levi Pipes fad. Peak giant leg/throwback bell bottoms was just before this in 96-98
You Know Your Good When Like All Your Videos Are Live,,And Are Amazing,,John Mayer For President!
+Reggae Fan
If you think Good Ole Days is better than what John has written, you haven't heard enough of him.
John Mayer IS FUCKING AWESOME
So weird seeing a crowd without a bunch of phones in the air..
Addison0526 ok boomer
Kind of refreshing to see people actually enjoying the performance. Fast forward 10 years, now most are too concentrated on capturing video at a concert to appreciate the artists.
@@jolkraeremeark6949 then most never even do anything with the video... such a waste of an experience
@@Addison0526 exactly! The virtually useless video captured on the phone is more important than the actual experience.
They post it on social medias they care more about saying they went then actually appreciating the show
The song that introduced 'quarter life crisis' to the world! Take a bow, John Mayer! 🙌🏻
Back when we had no smartphones and we all knew how to be in and enjoy the moment!
The crowd sounds amazing!

"Why Georgia"
I am driving up 85 in the
Kind of morning that lasts all afternoon
Just stuck inside the gloom
4 more exits to my apartment but
I am tempted to keep the car in drive
And leave it all behind
Cause I wonder sometimes
About the outcome
Of a still verdictless life
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia, why?
I rent a room and I fill the spaces with
Wood in places to make it feel like home
But all I feel's alone
It might be a quarter life crisis
Or just the stirring in my soul
Either way I wonder sometimes
About the outcome
Of a still verdictless life
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia, why?
So what, so I've got a smile on
But it's hiding the quiet superstitions in my head
Don't believe me
Don't believe me
When I say I've got it down
Everybody is just a stranger but
That's the danger in going my own way
I guess it's the price I have to pay
Still "everything happens for a reason"
Is no reason not to ask myself
If I am living it right
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, tell me why
Why, why Georgia, why?
perfection is not about being right.. you just got it john
You can tell the year by his wide leg jeans
He’s still wearing them though
My godd.. I saw this in India on vh1 in 2004 and went absolutely bonkers
And the airyness in his vocals
Hahaha...or just jeans bro. Our pants aren’t supposed to squeeze the cheese out of us.
It's like the rings on a tree 🌳
I will never get sick of this song :)
I cant find my favorite live version of this song anywhere it has lines inserted like "im i livin it right one oh one more im i livin it right" then it has this extended "when i say ive got it down down down doooown" i deleted it on my music wated to download it again but i really cant find it help!!!
did you find it?
@@cqleonardo haha i still got it on my previous phone but the quality of the sound is bad man. I listened to the other songs in that concert i think he's a little too high that night that the other songs that he sang is a bit out of controll maybe they deleted the whole record that's why i couldn't find it anymore lol
What a man and his guitar can do =)
"ladies and gentlemen the B-Ham choir" hahaha xP

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
i'm 24 now and i'm right there where mayer was, same age, with the same heavvy quarter life crisis
Inspiring guitarist he is! Why cant more acoustic artist play in this style? theres so many liek secondhand guitar musicians out there with same sounds..

@@goodalltv6951 woah take it easy
He makes me feel so much better when I'm sad... Oh he's pure magic 🖤
He's great. Still, it makes me laugh that he just says "shit" and all teenagers go wild. Way to go dude :D
Love this song!!! :)
Love that he’s contemplating his life, it matters how we live!! God Bless!
don't you just love the freemasons 33 on his shirt. anyway john is a grate singer
simon hendriks Maybe it's just a shirt with that number because I've seen shirts with random numbers forever.
Jesus Christ was 33
What does 33 mean to Free Masonry ?
When you Say that John is a grate singer iz THAT Sarcasm OR TypoFever??
Freemasons - where do you find free masons bcz 'round here there's not a 1 of them that will work for Free .
It has all the potential to be a classic if it isn't already.
