  • In this video, I share my strategy for learning the mass amounts of material you're expected to learn while in PA school. I also found some old tests and study materials to give you an inside look at what I used to survive!
    Ignore the awful music I put in this video if you can. I didn't realize the track took that bad of a turn midway through haha 🤦

    It’s a breath of fresh air to hear I’m not the only one who has to put in 10x the amount of studying in order to make the material click.

      We’re all different! I always thought I wasn’t as smart because it takes me longer to “get” something. It’s just how we’re wired man

    Finally someone who has to make loads of effort to study lol.
    I see so many people who get things so easy, and that used to be me when I was in HS but now it takes awhile for info to stick. So it can be difficult and I always have to spend more time. (For context, I’m a nontradish uni student, I graduated Hs in 2012 😅 so I’ve been out a while lol)

    I am only an upcoming third-year undergraduate and watching your videos makes me so excited to pursue my dreams of becoming a PA. I'm studying for a bio test right this minute and it feels good to know that some people are just different and need to put in more time to actually get the material. Definitely going to use your studying tips as an advantage in my early education! Thank you :3

      😊 keep working hard and you’ll be where I am in no time at all! Some of those undergrad classes were honestly harder than a few of my PA school courses! You’ve got this! 👍💪

    You’re hilarious😂 LOL at the “awful music.” I can totally relate to how you approach studying in PA school. It seems to take me so much more effort for things to stick and I constantly have to re-write things from memory on my whiteboard to really internalize the info. I totally avoid groups until I feel comfortable with information on my own or I stress tf out. Right now, we have summer off before our last didactic semester and then CLINICALS😩🙌🏾🔥 I’m so excited to get to where you are! Good luck on the rest of your rotations!

    Hey! This video was very helpful!! Can you tell us how you studied for clin med? Charts? Flashcards? Quizlet? I made a C already in one of my clin med courses in my 2nd semester and I am now in my last didactic semester that has 3 more clin meds. I can only make 2 Cs in total throughout the entire PA program. What is the likelihood of making a C during clinical year? What do my clinical year rotation grades depend on? Did preceptors grade you based on what you know? What happens if I fail an end of rotation exam? I AM SO SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS but I really would appreciate your help!!

    I’m going to be a freshman in college this coming fall as a bio major and hopefully get into PA school after. Is it bad that I have no idea what you were talking about going through your anatomy coloring book?

    Peace be to you! I REALLY enjoyed watching this! Thumbs up!😃👍🏾The whole power point technique is actually good because as you know, almost ALL of our CME conferences are in PowerPoint! Did you use 3×5 cards in school? We're the same, "having to study constantly" to keep the information in your head!🙄 I crushed Anatomy and Physiology also! GO VISUAL/TACTILE LEARNERS!😁Pharm, on the other hand...😣! I look forward to more of your videos! Take care!👨🏾‍⚕️

    HELP! how to prevent yourself from forgetting certain diseases, etc? like lets say you started out in dermatology for like 6 years but then switched to ER, is it common to forget certain diseases,etc? thats my biggest fear!! any advice? im a current student that forgets some material after a semester or more has gone by! except that certain material that is always repeated in all my other classes

    • @DaywithaPA
      @DaywithaPA  4 года назад +1

      Totally normal to feel this way. Repetition is the only thing. Once you get into your field, there will things you see routinely that you’ll get very good at. Of course, you can’t know everything and that’s ok. It just takes time and you have to build upon your knowledge every day, even if that just means remembering one extra thing, the point is, you’re learning!

    Hey man ! Do you think I can take a cna course while I’m in college taking 14 credits ? Is it manageable?

    • @DaywithaPA
      @DaywithaPA  4 года назад

      How many credits is the course? How many sciences classes are you taking? I usually took 16-18 credits per semester and doubled up on sciences. It’s prob manageable if you’re only in one science course! Ultimately it’s up to you! It was honestly a pretty easy class

    • @williamsuarez7827
      @williamsuarez7827 4 года назад

      Day with a PA I’m taking two philosophy classes and calculus and abnormal psychology right now. How doable do you think this is? And also after you got your CNA would you also take 16-18 credits a semester ? Thank you in advance man !

    • @williamsuarez7827

      Day with a PA and how much did you have to study for the CNA exam?

    • @DaywithaPA
      @DaywithaPA  4 года назад +1

      Yes, I still did. I think it’s doable. I worked part time and it ranged from 10-20 hours a week. I had so many exams the week of my CNA exam that I didn’t even study 🤷‍♂️

  • @julissarodriguez8342
    @julissarodriguez8342 5 лет назад +2

    you ever struggle with self doubt and if so how you handle it

    • @DaywithaPA
      @DaywithaPA  5 лет назад +7

      All the time. I doubted my ability to get into PA school, I doubted my ability to pass tests, I doubted my ability to talk to patients and be able to take what I’ve learned and apply it, etc. For me, I almost had to continually prove myself wrong. I then realized I was capable of whatever it is I put my mind to. At the end of the day, if you bust your ass and put in the hours, you will succeed. It’s not always easy or fun, but trust me, if you work hard, you can have anything you want in life. The only thing stopping you, is you!

    • @DaywithaPA
      @DaywithaPA  5 лет назад +4

      Also, I love the quote “doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.” It was my mantra in undergrad.
