      @@michaelryan_pa I do have one more..... study strategies for pharmacology. Ugh! I took that class this semester, and although I got an A, I still had a hard time keeping the classes of drugs, and even worse, the individual drugs, straight. Side effects, contraindications, when to use, when not to use... etc. Do you have an awesome "pro tip" on that one?!? (your pro tip in this video is stellar!)

    I've been bugging out about this. I start didactic in May. Your calm and level headed approach makes me feel so much better. At the beginning of college I was a 100% note card and study guide gal. A piece of me still is but as I went in to my junior and senior year it became impossible to find the time to make notecards and study them for every class, so I started just reading through the powerpoints. I've been so nervous about learning how to study in PA school again but this seems like the most realistic approach while not wasting my time.

    Peace be to you! This is a great channel! I love your up-beat attitude! It's so interesting for me to hear about "saving notes on clouds"! 20 years ago, we thought "black boards" and "smart boards" huge innovations. Howard's PA program didn't have ANY of these though. I still received a good education though.

    Wish I could have seen this before this second semester. In first semester I learned it takes too much time for me to make study guides most of the time. A lot of people in our classes make study guides and we have ones from previous classes so I just use those after I go over my powerpoints. I’m already behind so it’s going to be hard to get caught up and ahead but I’m going to try. Right now just trying to pass. Stressing so much. But the semester is halfway done. But now next semester I should be better with understanding what to do and organize my time. And I literally don’t do anything except school, go to the store for food, cook, I do go to the gym for an hour Saturday and Sunday. And sleeping. That’s about it. Studying now for my ophthalmology CMS. Planning on slowly reviewing all the slides today and then hopefully i can just read over study guides tomorrow. He says his tests Havnt been bad for people usually. We will see. Then a heme CMS on Friday. So I’ll start working on that.

      First off congratulations on school. Its a learning process that I hope to help many people with and save so much stress. PA Gold Standard yeah i did because even though you only have 3 videos I can tell they are going to be good stuff. I’ve been out of college for 5 years before getting accepted so it’s hard for me also because I have to relearn everything. Whereas other kids graduated last year and it’s more in their head.

      PA Gold Standard so... passed my micro exam from Friday with my highest grade this semester which is actually the hardest micro exam of the semester (which is weird because I failed the first one). Took my optho exam today and we don’t have grades yet but I feel good about it.

      PA Gold Standard so thought I would reply again. So I Havnt failed any exams since those initial 3. I have a pharm exam Friday, a Patho exam Monday and then I have 5 days off for thanksgiving that I’ll be studying. Micro final the day we come back and the. The next week is finals week. So 8 exams, 2 OSCES and a head to toe left.

    The professors always say don't memorize but know how to apply the concepts. But I disagree b/c you need to memorize in order to know how to apply. What do you think?

I think if I try to use your method that in PA school with slides consisting of more than 50 or 70, I really think I'll be able to save time and pass the class with better grades

    Also did you use any outside resource such as osmosis picmonic medcomics quizlet? at which point in this system did you fit them in? Is it during the table of content step? I am a visual and auditory leaner and found youtube videos as an excellent resource in the past.

      dawnie christie I’m not him of course but my class uses quizlet together, and I watch so many RUclips videos. I actually make playlists for a certain subject so I can watch them when I have some time. It helped a lot on my exam today on cardio with heart sounds.

    • @michaelryan_pa
      @michaelryan_pa  4 года назад

      I too was a visual learner. It depends on the subject matter. For the most part (even in undergrad) I studied in front of a large dry erase white board, and would also write all notes on those large cardboard white sheets. Talked about this briefly in one of my videos ruclips.net/video/_0TVAuu5I-8/видео.html
