    4:48 if you switch from Resample to Auto it’ll keep the whole sample in key, so you don’t have to reset the pitch every time

    *TIP TO SAVE YOU A BUNCH OF TIME*
    Instead of recording it with Edison as he said, you can just highlight the part of the beat you want to record, then go to the mixer eherever that sample is located and click on the little circle under the clock and above the linking arrow. Its titled "Arm Disk Recording" Then go to the drop down menu at the top left of the mixer and click Disk Reclrding> Render to Wave file(s) That renders your audio clip as it is instead of doing it this way where you have to leave a space at the end.
    *TIP NUMBER TWO*
    When you export make sure to use "Wrap remainder" if you're exporting loops.

    • @Diogenes_ofSinope
      @Diogenes_ofSinope 6 лет назад +6

      what does wrap remainder do

    • @TxcGren
      @TxcGren 6 лет назад +16

      Diogones of Sinope It basically fades out the audio so it doesn't clip when you start the new loop. So if you have a four bar loop, it will fade it near the last semi bars and make the transition smooth. If you don't wrap it, any 808s you have in the beat will extend the loop until the 808 stops... Experiment yourself and test out the different outcomes.

    For 8:15 before you record, just select "on play" instead of "on input" and let it record all the way till it loops. After that, just right click the magnet on the bottom right and set it to "snap to region" and make sure that the magnet is green by left clicking it. Then what you wanna do is select the part outside of the first loop where it says "song jump" and press Ctrl + X(or delete, that will delete/cut the excess). It's quicker and it provides an exact cut of your sample. Hopefully this comment made sense and it helps y'all lol

    excellent tutorial (: one thing that would be easy for recording the edited sample is to link the result to a channel in the mixer, turn on the record bottom in the mixer (the red one) and then in the mixer's menu, disk recording/render it to wav in the playlist

    Thanks a lot for that information. This has been a really big help for me. I love chopping my samples up that way, but instead of me using edsion, I just highlighted the way you did but i assign it into a mixer track, and then I render it as a wave file. Once it's rendered, I can now drag the sample that I chopped and it will automatically adjust to the tempo of my project. I really like the way that you explain this tho. Thanks again!!!!

    Another way to do it is by finding the tempo clicking on the sample and going into edit sample in Edison once it's in Edison go to edit properties change the tempo of the song to the bpm you found it was and then clicking on sync to tempo now everytime you stretch the sample its will ask you to stretch all channels now and it will stretch to the right tempo if it does not you can go I to fit to tempo and pick the bpm range and it will sync

  • @caajcs
    @caajcs 5 лет назад

    I don't know if someone already commented this but instead of clicking "Make Unique" you can click "Make Unique as Sample".
    It will save you time when you stretch as the sample is shortened to the actual used part.

    If using the demo version you can still make unique by clicking "make unique as sample". It physically makes a file that is exactly what you had chopped.
    Also recording a copy of the sample in Edison then drag and drop it to the playlist to make as many "unique" versions as you need.

    Quick tip...instead of manually adjusting the tempo by ear just click the sample in the "Channel Rack" and under "time stretching" right click on "Time" then select auto detect and click the "estimated tempo" and the last step is just dragging the audio file into the Playlist and adjusting the tempo to whatever the "estimated tempo" was. This will save you a lot of time and frustration.

    I put every single sample in the sequencer! You can time stretch each sample to change with the tempo & save it, then I put every single sound into the master on seperate tracks & eq them. I downloaded external vst’s like blue cat audio equalizer & fabfilterQ (they sound better than Fl studios eq’s) then I clone the pattern & switch the clone a little each time so the drums & samples continuously change & build up! I mess around with the swing of the drums & piano roll kicks (to do double kicks) Snares (to do snare rolls), hi hats, basslines etc. sounds tedious & one beat might take me 8 hrs, but it’s usually dope 😀 I don’t get how you can master everything in the pattern section or make cool ass drum changes or make the levels change around in the pattern section, but I do use the pattern section to put all my sequences into & to manually do effects with my midi controller knobs 😀 -D.O.A.P.-

    I would suggest that you only loop the sample without the extra bar of silence. In Edison you can choose on play and if you record the loop Edison adds a marker when the sample starts again. The only thing you have to do then is double clicking that marker and that highlights the part you don`t need in order to delete it. I hope this was clear.

    with fl 12 instead of recording to edison you can use alt-r to bounce whatever track/mixer insert you're using into the channel rack/playlist.
    if im missing something let me know. obviously you have to use edison to blur it or any other fx you want from edison
    but alt-r is a huge timesaver to avoid clipping from using 1000 vsts to clout out your beat

    Try to slice samples to different tempo than the original tempo of the sample. It will open your ears to whole new ideas and possibilities you would not otherwise even think of. And besides that it's also much more unique and creative way to chop. Especially when working with songs that have been sampled dozens and dozens of times already. Cheers!
