As someone who did competition drill in Air Force JROTC in high school this is a disgrace! But as someone who watched this movie as a kid it's awesome! Haha! :)
@@briannaharris2886 I remember when I saw legitimate drill for the first time I was absolutely amazed, yet so confused (I was really young, so this movie was still in recent memory lol) as to why it looked so different from the "drill" in this. 😂 This isn't drill. But damn if it wasn't entertaining. Lol
From a drill perspective, this makes me cringe so hard. Now from a "Disney Channel Original movies MADE my childhood" perspective? Damn, I love this scene/movie.
It feels like it was just yesterday I was watching this on disney channel. I can't believe that it's been sixteen years since its release. Time sure does fly.
I always wondered if the music was actually playing while they did their performance. It looks ok with it playing, but If I was in the audience, and the dancing/drill routine was going on without music playing it be...well probably just awkward
@@rebeccamichael626 but it's not Lizzie McGuire and Kim Possible. It's Jennifer Stone and Kelly I don't remember what her last name was in the movie. It's completely different character. An FYI Christy Carlson Romano also played Ren Stevens as well.
Has anyone else noticed that that window when they throw the ribbons up is the same window from the end of Legally Blonde when they throw their graduation caps up?
Well, being Deaf, I was referring to the clip you have posted. When a person posts a clip, they generally associate the title with the clip. Being a Hilary Duff fan, I was letting you know that this is Cadet Kelly (your clip), which is a film I love. As for the song, never heard it and never will. I am Deaf.
The message associated with the song and both movies are SO powerful ! A woman can be smart & beautiful & strong & sexy AND DONT GOTTA CHOOSE ONLY ONE CHARACTER trait of the few And Leagally blonde came out first . I remember being excited hearing the song from a grown up movie in the Disney movie but subconsciously soaking up the message in this song before I even understood all the words
One Girl Revolution (the song) plays in Legally Blonde as well - but maybe that is why this is labeled that way even though the footage is Cadet Kelly? I d k, just wanted to point out that there was at least some relation - since everybody and their cat noted that this isn't Legally Blonde lol.
I love this movie but the final dance seems to be too anticlimactic and awkward.. That one ugliest choreography that almost too painful for me to watch..

Can't believe that they took Your Relating to a Psychopath out of the Disney plus version. Also, I would love to see a sequel... Commandant Kelly (her in her stepfather's position)
I don't understand why drill team or unarmed exhibition is even related to combat? How is flipping rifles preparing for battle? I made a Cadet Kelly video, and I got the same thing too, a lot of mean and rejection comments. I made a same video for tap dancing, and Irish, it seems you can't make a video without someone going particular. Why follow rules to those things? In combat yes, you would need too, but for Unarmed Exhibition...I'm very confused or even drill...that always seemed like something you could have fun with. Same with gymnastics, so particular. Why can't you smile? Why can't you add your own flare and imagination to these strict movements? Why can't you have fun with this? If Disney got it wrong, I'm glad to even see Disney attempted to make a drill team and have it look so fun and cool. I'm actually very happy you uploaded this. I never would have known what a drill team was if it wasn't for Cadet Kelly. It's like the part where she brought her rainbow blanket in and got it torn up...sometimes there is no room for individuality in this it seems, you can't be yourself, you have to act tough and be taught to be tough and be robotic without feelings or a brain, cause all you care about in the end is blowing shit up when they aren't the enemy if we just had more peace talks....I don't want to get into politics, I just hate to see movies like this go under such ridicule and harshness.
I know very little about drill teams, but I can tell you this much. In this movie, they are depicting a military school, which lives a great deal like the military. In the military, it is not you're place to express individuality. You can do that on your own time, and can keep things like that blanket when you are out of basic training, to a point. But schools like this live like it's basic training. And still has rules and restrictions because it's drill. The military is all about discipline. It doesn't have to be combat to be disciplined. You live every part of your life to military standards. I like this movie, but I understand the criticism around it.
@@arobiteme first off military school is nothing like the military. Because in the military you can't leave until your time is up. And then you can retake your oath and spend like what another four years. But with military school you can go home. Your parents can pull you out at any time. But it's not the same at all. And also they're a lot stricter and a lot harsher in the military than they are in military school. Because they're minors and they can't do certain shit to them like they can in the military. And also their basic training or whatever the hell you want to call it is nothing like military basic training either. Because when you go into the underneath barbed wire during actual military basic training there's live around that are going over your head at all times. What they can't do in military school because that's illegal. Because their children and not adults.

I love the fact that they still lost to the Marine Corps ROTC. After such a stupid dance that NO ONE in any military run youth program would EVER do some dumb shit like this. But God knows I still enjoyed this movie and had the hugest crush(still do) on Hilary Duff! Lol
I have never rolled my eyes so hard in my entire life. My father was actually in the fucking Army and how the rank of E5. He likes this movie okay. There's nothing wrong with it. And 2 you don't even get the whole point of the scene. Kelly wasn't raised in the military life. Whereas Jennifer's character was. It was supposed to be them working together and creating a dance together. Which means mixing both of their styles into one dance. So yeah it was supposed to look goofy because it's a mix between Kelly's quirky style and Jennifer's more military style.
