Light the World Giving Machines Are Back in 2023

- An important way you can spread the light and love of Jesus Christ this Christmas is through one of many Light the World Giving Machines. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is sponsoring these giving-focused vending machines in 61 locations around the world during the 2023 holiday season.
The theme of this year’s Light the World Christmas initiative is “Let Your Light Shine,” words the Savior of the world spoke to His followers. Giving Machines provide a unique path to spread His light - in your community or in a faraway country. Instead of buying something for yourself, your purchase is a donation for someone in need.

This morning I was part of the official launch of the first "Light the World Giving Machine" in Auckland, New Zealand. The Churches spoke person was Elder Wakolo of the Pacific Area Presidency and it was amazing. To all the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who were their thank you, and to the church, thank you for your initiative. God bless.

I'm very happy that one of these machines is coming to Washington Square mall. That's the mall close to where I live in Oregon.

I am looking forward to using the Light the World Giving Machine again this year! Last year my daughter and I went to the mall and asked a family with two young boys to help us choose what to give. The little boys had fun deciding what to give. We let them push the buttons while their parents watched. Those young boys went away happy because they had helped someone. My daughter and I were happy to be able to share the joy.
What a sweet experience for all of you! I’ll bet those little boys remember tat for a long, long time.

It's really a great way for people to contribute and a great partnership with other organizations. I love being able to donate to a cause and know that the money is truly being put to a good use.

Can we do the giving machine thing online?
Please please please do an online vending machine.
Would it be possible to have traveling Machines - mount them on or in a trailer to access more members? If not, is it possible to provide of the list of options available and an address where by members who don't have access to the machines might also donate? Oh, the potential blessing that would be available to more members!
When are these machines coming to San Diego!?!
Could the Church please do this at Easter time, also?
Not a bad idea, but it’s a lot of work. And maybe having it once a year keeps it fresh, something to look forward to. It’s a great Christmas tradition ❤
This is mind blowing. I have been building chicken businesses with destitute families in Tanzania and my parents told me about this. I think it is awesome. Anybody know how a family in need can sign up to receive animals?
I am going to keep doing what I do but there is so much need out there for a simple hands up.

How does the receiver grow and improve beyond the immediate need?
Here are a few thoughts… Donations towards trauma therapy help long term. Livestock donations help families provide for themselves, but then grow & expand into commodities to sell to improve their financial stability. Donations to provide access to clean water change so much for communities, especially the lives of women & girls, & the improved health & hygiene for everyone…
