McKay here making a cheap shot bc Sheppard solved the puzzle he couldn't on the Brotherhood planet.

"Actually I am in Mensa" would have been funny.

This joke was from the episode where another McCay with a better personally came from a parallel reality. There Sheppard was the head of Mensa (in Atlantis).

@@matthew8153 I thought it was a joke because when they were trying to solve the (in every direction it's 15) puzzle, Rodney is like "two heads is NOT better than one" and John says "you know I took the Mensa test".

@@mylabugz Shepherd does admit at the end of the episode that he took the test and passed. And he's smart enough to be in Ivy League, he just wanted to do something different with his life.

@@Aurora-313 This was 2 years ago, so I can't remember whatever this is. But pretty sure what you are saying is what I am referencing. That he could be in their same league and choose not to be, and they are laughing like he couldn't.

Ancient knowledge puzzles? What does that mean? Like if it means like who sang the song oops I did it again? That would be really easy for someone from our generation to get. But add thousands of years and it would be hard. So how would an ancient knowledge puzzle be a valid for of cryptography? Unless it is some other form of knowledge puzzle? The answer to my question is Brittany Spears.

I hate how they wrote Dr. Jackson in this ep. He was too much like McKay if you get what I am saying.

This is actually pretty in line with how Daniel was in the final 2-3 seasons of SG1. Once Richard Dean Anderson slowed down, they started to spread the comic relief around to all the characters.

    • @23bcx
      @23bcx 2 месяца назад

@@printezstroman To one degree or another Daniel had some jokes even as far back as the movie, it's not that. Daniel ascended twice, he was good for goodness sake, well past the point of it being an admirable quality and he only mellowed out the smallest amount by the end of SG1. McKay started off as a heal in SG1 and only mellowed out the smallest amount by the end of A. When Rodney makes some snyde insult at Shepherd Jackson wouldn't have laughed in encouragement

It's not possible to set up a generator that emits subharmonic frequencies when they are not the frequencies that open the door, ugh! The frequency(s) would have to manipulate those that open the door and be in the audio range, using the same tones, or a combination of the three. But that's far fetched, since the pattern is vital to opening the door. I know the directors wouldn't want random noise in the background, however that line drives me nuts (pun intended). :-\

It's sci-fi. You really expect it to be accurate? He likely used Ancient or Asgard tech to create the device.

      ...says who?
The lamps are a key pad. It makes no sense to have an unlabeled keypad. It's significantly more likely the audible tone is specifically for the benefit of the user.
This is what I adore about Stargate in general and Ancient (and Tollan) technology/design in particular; It is _incredibly_ human and always seeks to maximize comfort, accessibility and and ease of access.
To illustrate the point with a tangentially related example: When was the last time any Oh So Superior precursor race kept houseplants?
      Exactly.
Your complaint is understandable but there's definitely more to the situation than I think you realise.

Its possible it was not the only frequency to open the doors. Its possible he found a relatively similar subharmonic frequency that also worked. It would even make sense for Janus to do so in case he wanted to access his lab quietly.
