Funny you couldn't do your job despite being the best and the brightest 😊
Surely Jackson's got lenght of service on his side if nothing else 😆
I hate how they wrote Dr. Jackson in this ep. He was too much like McKay if you get what I am saying.
This is actually pretty in line with how Daniel was in the final 2-3 seasons of SG1. Once Richard Dean Anderson slowed down, they started to spread the comic relief around to all the characters.
@@printezstroman To one degree or another Daniel had some jokes even as far back as the movie, it's not that. Daniel ascended twice, he was good for goodness sake, well past the point of it being an admirable quality and he only mellowed out the smallest amount by the end of SG1. McKay started off as a heal in SG1 and only mellowed out the smallest amount by the end of A. When Rodney makes some snyde insult at Shepherd Jackson wouldn't have laughed in encouragement
Love when ford gets on him over security clearance.

I just imagine how would people react, when whole secret gets out. I mean writers and journalist with fight like dogs to write biographies about these guys. They are legends. How would they call them? Dr. Daniel Jackson, man who found out TRUTH. Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay, man who did impossible. ... What about other members? Man who faced devil and make him run. Woman that give us endless possibilities, man, that end age of gods etc.

McKay here making a cheap shot bc Sheppard solved the puzzle he couldn't on the Brotherhood planet.
Ancient knowledge puzzles? What does that mean? Like if it means like who sang the song oops I did it again? That would be really easy for someone from our generation to get. But add thousands of years and it would be hard. So how would an ancient knowledge puzzle be a valid for of cryptography? Unless it is some other form of knowledge puzzle? The answer to my question is Brittany Spears.
It was probably science based

There's a joke about lesbians and all the good men being taken. But it seems like low hanging fruit.
I'm still not sure how John, who is head of the military contingent, didn't know this already.

The infamous talking about two different things clichie.
there is no chance in hell they would only pick women to go alone on a mission
God the amount of sexism in this comment section is staggering.
Be silent, woman.
Yeah, pretty disheartening. God forbid einen get a little screen time in sci fi
"Actually I am in Mensa" would have been funny.
This joke was from the episode where another McCay with a better personally came from a parallel reality. There Sheppard was the head of Mensa (in Atlantis).
@@matthew8153 I thought it was a joke because when they were trying to solve the (in every direction it's 15) puzzle, Rodney is like "two heads is NOT better than one" and John says "you know I took the Mensa test".
@@mylabugz Shepherd does admit at the end of the episode that he took the test and passed. And he's smart enough to be in Ivy League, he just wanted to do something different with his life.
@@Aurora-313 This was 2 years ago, so I can't remember whatever this is. But pretty sure what you are saying is what I am referencing. That he could be in their same league and choose not to be, and they are laughing like he couldn't.
Any people from Scotland around? That‘s sounds like a great accent for me as a non-native speaker. Would you agree?
Okay, they are a temperate forest without headgear (should be bush caps or winter hats) and they just saluted in a potential combat zone, showing who the leaders are. Great targets for the potential snipers out there.
Because the Wraith are so famous for their sniper tactics... Not to mention the fact that both the Wraith and the Genii already know who Sheppard is and wouldn't need to wait for the salute to identify him.
Just the nastiest burn.

Hi Mum! We're about to get sieged by a fleet of life sucking aliens, glad you're not here.
It's a little funny how they're all smug about being the best when Sheppard, the leader of the their flagship team and their superior in rank and ability is standing in front of them.
not to mention how Vega's inexperience and skepticism ends up getting her killed later that episode....
Ah, STEM vs the Humanities.

Inferno squad, kathleen kennedy proposal
Rodney McKay: so well written, and portrayed even better! Chemistry with ALL of his co-players. That is a rare gift.
wait you don't get paid more then I do do you? do you?🤣
A cursory non-exhaustive search reveals that the militaries of most major powers on Earth employ around 4% female soldiers (which may or may not be relegated to non-combat desk roles). Russia employs around 10%, and USA the most at 16%. Saying that you *only* picked based on the "best and the brightest" and it just so happens that your selection only included people from, I don't know, around 8% (international coalition and all) of the Atlantis Expedition seems a little far-fetched. In fact, given her smug somewhat hostile response to Sheppard's surprise, I'd go so far as to suggest that her choices were heavily influenced by blatant sexism and she only sought team members from among the female population.
Except you're forgetting that the normally high bar set for women in most armed forces, especially special forces, usually results in them being much better trained/combat ready in order to keep the respect of what is essentially a boy's club.
McKay could have won the Nobel for Science at least a dozen times due to his research and discoveries. Daniel would have numerous Linguistic awards and likely the Nobel Peace Prize for his work. Talk about unrecognized academic heroes.
...not mention saving Earth, humanity, multiple galaxies... multiple times... Of course management still asks them to increase their productivity by 10% during their annual reviews. The only good thing is they get to claim reimbursement for mileage as a travel expense.
@@bobblum5973 if they did they'd all be really rich by this point
Yeah, and don't we even know that there's at least one Girl brighter, working for the SGC? Am i supposed to have forgotten about that one Girl that Sam recruited directly from scool, just to be nearly killed on a moon full of light Bugs?
I think Daniel gets paid more. After all he is the one that made the stargate operational.
More than that, he has been the SGC's conscience from day 1. While almost everyone talks about what they can do, Daniel is often the one to get them to step back and ask if it is the right thing to do.
not only that he's been on the payroll for like, 10 years at this point? pretty sure sense he qualifies as a civilian contractor his payrate increases yearly
Plus Daniel gets paid in US dollars while Rodney gets paid in Canadian dollars.
@@KenshiImmortalWolf well technically only around 3 years since he was not employed by the SGC while he was ascended (or probably 5 years since O'Neill refused to declare him dead after being kidnapped by Replicater). I also wonder if there is compensation for dying on the job cause that could become quite relevant when looking at their pay roll, especially for Daniel and O'Neill.
And I would think saving the world a few times over would give you some premium benefits
Funny how that "went out" really?
Ezri went from pretty and cute to smoking hot.
Which parts of SG1 and SGA team actually ever got along? 🤔
Sheppard and Mitchel... Because they're a copy of each other.
@@Domihork I dont know they seemed a bit gruff/formal even for military, but then that could just be Mitchell he is more formal/grumpy than Sheppard, Carter or O'Neill. Never grew to like him.
@@Domihork I'm with Develin there. They had a somewhat professional understanding but I wouldn't say they got along that well. Also Sheppard is honestly closer to what I'd imagine a younger General Landry would've been like.
@@develynseether4426 I feel like Ben Browder probably over-prepared for his role. Mr. Flannigan went on record saying he intentionally never watched the original show. Browder I feel didn't get a chance to assert his character as his own and thus got made to fill shoes not made for him. You need a certain easygoing gravitas to pull certain lines off without coming across as twatty rather than casually disrespectful. Basically, Mitchell was too much O'Neill, too little Bowder.
@@unintentionallydramatic it probably didn't help that Mitchell wasn't even initially the roll he was supposed to have. He was supposed to be Sheppard but there were schedule conflicts so he couldn't shoot SGA. So they created Mitchell for Browder instead.
If i were a Wraith I'ld want to feed on them...

It's not possible to set up a generator that emits subharmonic frequencies when they are not the frequencies that open the door, ugh! The frequency(s) would have to manipulate those that open the door and be in the audio range, using the same tones, or a combination of the three. But that's far fetched, since the pattern is vital to opening the door. I know the directors wouldn't want random noise in the background, however that line drives me nuts (pun intended). :-\
It's sci-fi. You really expect it to be accurate? He likely used Ancient or Asgard tech to create the device.
...says who? The lamps are a key pad. It makes no sense to have an unlabeled keypad. It's significantly more likely the audible tone is specifically for the benefit of the user. This is what I adore about Stargate in general and Ancient (and Tollan) technology/design in particular; It is _incredibly_ human and always seeks to maximize comfort, accessibility and and ease of access. To illustrate the point with a tangentially related example: When was the last time any Oh So Superior precursor race kept houseplants? Exactly. Your complaint is understandable but there's definitely more to the situation than I think you realise.
Its possible it was not the only frequency to open the doors. Its possible he found a relatively similar subharmonic frequency that also worked. It would even make sense for Janus to do so in case he wanted to access his lab quietly.
