I've had many comments criticizing the section of my video covering autism. I am not a professional and I will not get everything right. As I said in the video I could be misinformed, and I don't know anybody personally with autism. I went over a lot of websites and articles to get my information. And many said the same things. I suggest scrolling the comments correcting me and (like I said in the video) do your own research to get a better grasp of the subject! Sorry for any misinformation, it was not my intention.

may i also say, autistic people can be sensory SEEKERS too. its not just loud noises scary or weird textures icky. it can be purposefully putting music on loud or going on rollercoasters (which i absolutely love). sensory seekers like me are overlooked a lot because everyone talks about sensory avoiders. a way you can roleplay this is perhaps "getting the zoomies" as one may say
Edit: you can also be both! avoiding some things and seeking other things, it depends on the person

I have autism. And I was diagnosed quite young. Here’s my experience.
1: Stimming. Stimming is something people with autism (or adhd) do. Stimming can consist of fidgeting with fingers. And other movements. There are also verbal stims. For example. Repeating a phrase on specific days. Or saying the same thing over and over. Some stims can even be harmful. Sometimes I bite myself. Or I scratch myself because it feels nice to me.
2: Behaviours. People with autism (and adhd) can find It VERY difficult to sit still. Or they may find it very easy. Autistic people learn in many ways. Some people need to be taught verbally. And some may need to watch an example. In my personal experience. I find it tricky to hang out with several friends, while making sure everyone is happy and comfortable. Other people may feel the opposite. Enjoying many people to “play” with. Normally. Autistic people need extra patience. Never tell someone with autism these phrases. “Sit still you’re being annoying” “You’re so childish.” “Do ____ faster!” Or anything like that. Some people with autism can be blunt. Or seem rude. But keep in mind they never really mean to be rude. If an autistic person is having a meltdown. Or mental breakdown. Ask them if they would like company or if they need anything. If they say no. LEAVE THEM ALONE. Don’t check on them 5 minutes later. 30 minutes is your best bet. If they want to vent. Let them vent. If they did need something. Give it to them. And sit with them for as long as they need.
3: What category is autism in? Autism is a wide spectrum that lots of people know about. It is not infectious. And saying so is quite rude. Aswell as saying things related to curing it. Autism is a mental disability. If you had autism. You would be neurodivergent. Aswell as having ADHD and many more.
4: BONUS! Here’s some things related to ADHD. Some people may look at someone with ADHD. And say “they’re annoying and can’t sit still” Yeah. A lot of people with ADHD have trouble sitting still. They can also be quite impatient. But not all people with ADHD are impatient. I’ve been typing for a while. My fingers hurt. Bye!

As a person with autisum, a brother with it, and a sister with ADHD, this is accurate. Its quite wide. Im a chill, quiet, lonsome (By choise, I like being alone.) girl whom would like to just stay at home. My brother is entergenic, noisy, playful, and baisicly a playbuddy for my simmilar sis. I have yet to watch this video, hoping its accurate!
Edit:Finally finished with the vid and its quite accurate! Some things about being a autistic in our (Me and mah brother) experience. Us two are picky. My sis wont care what you give her, just no stuff a kid doesn't like. Us though, we tend to stay to our food groups. Us two like cheese and chocolate alot. Now im not saying all autistic people like these, others might pefer other foods or just hate them. If your trying to do a simmilar place on the spectrum as me, mabye try to keep your foods limmited. Ex:Acat whom loves rabbits and mainly eats them or a cat whom avoids eating birds as much as they can.

oh boy autism time 🎉🎉 felt like a lot of info on it was left out of the video, but that’s fair because it’s better to do your own research for things like these nyways :>
firstly I’m open to ANY questions about how to portray autism since I’m autistic myself!! Seriously, go nuts with it if you want
    - when people say the ‘ autism spectrum ‘ they do not mean like. not autistic -> autistic. I think the autism wheel is better personally, because it’s more about the individual experiences
    - most people prefer ‘ autistic person ‘ over ‘ person with autism ‘ but it’s better to just ask
    little tidbits
    - personally can’t tune out any sound !! at all !! this makes quiet sounds a little easier to hear, and louder ones even more annoying
    - autistic people are more likely to have other things, such as joint pain, insomnia, epilepsy, apd or adhd as well !!
    - autism isn’t something to be cured or fixed or removed, so please avoid that :D that’s blatant ableism and we really don’t need more of that in warriors
    - nothing really seems to cause autism, aside from it being sometimes genetic! It just happens :]
    - I’ve heard a lot about both myself and other autistic people just forgetting to eat if we were doing something else at the time. Yeah. We just forget :)

When Zzomies created the pt.2 of this series, she mentioned cerebellar hypoplasia and I thought it'd be fun to roleplay as a cat with this disability. I was roleplaying in a magic school with hypoplasia when a troll raid came in and I told everyone to avoid them. Then they started arguing with me and the argument eventually escalated to calling me an ABLEIST because I was playing a disabled character. I told them a few times to go away but they stuck around and eventually someone called a mod. However, the mod sided with them and told me it wasn't alright to play a disabled character. It's truly disgusting to see how sensitive and toxic this community has become. So what did I learn from this? That it is COMPLETELY fine to play a disabled character in WCUE and it is not ableism unless you are actively discriminating or hating on the disabled community. I wouldn't wish something like this happened to anyone because as soon as a moderator is called, you're done for.

    @BelaCoxinha Месяц назад +15

So, just something to educate you,the terms you listed (childhood autism, pddos, Asperger's...) don't exist anymore! They are now ALL CALLED ASD (autism spectrum disorder) under the new DSM-5, the only difference in diagnosis is that now there's support levels (which indicate how much support the person needs) numbered as
1- needing support in some areas, but mostly or sometimes 100% independent
2- may be independent, but may need support for daily tasks
    3- needs support 24/7, isn't independent
These levels DO NOT indicate "how autistic" the person is, but rather how much support the person needs in their daily lives. THERE'S NOT "a little bit autistic", or "very autistic", and each autistic person is unique, even within the same level. Also, with therapies like occupational therapy, sensory integration, etc being applied the right way, someone's brain might change a bit, causing them to improve and change level (ex: lvl 3 --> lvl 2) but bad things such as trauma, can make someone who's progrided regress (lvl 3 --> lvl 2 --> lvl 3)
So please make sure your sources are up to date, my dears.

I love that you talk about ptsd, because one of my cats that I use most often has ptsd. They are a loner that lives in the barn. Their name is Dragon, and they use they/them pronouns.
The trauma that they experienced was witnessing their parents being killed by cats from WindClan. Basically there was a skirmish on the wind and river clan’s border that the wandering family had happened to get caught in the middle of. Their parents had tried to defend themselves, but the mother was knocked out by a blow to the head, and the dad killed shortly after. At this point, Dragon had many wounds and was almost dead. Then Dragon was flung off the cliff (by accident), and into the raging river, where a brave apprentice jumped in and saved the kit from drowning. Dragon was then cared for by the RiverClan medicine cat until they were around 7 moons old.
They then moved into the barn, now very scarred and half blind, with a very aggressive demeanor towards clan cats (although they have a small soft spot for RiverClan). They are also very loyal to their friends, regardless of their heritage, as shown by a (now deceased) friend whom was a former clan cat.
They are highly aggressive towards any unfamiliar clan cat, and while they tolerate kittypets, they generally don’t perceive them as worth noting.
Edit: something random, but sometimes, when feeling cranky or some similar emotion, they kinda adopt a “god has let me live another day, so I’m gonna make that everyone’s problem” sort of behavior.

Albinism/being albino is another disability that I see rarely!! I have a oc who is albino who's name is Lychee, he was born kittypet that escaped his owner. He joined his clan when he was a warrior but needed extra-extra training since he joined late and had to find how to adapt to his disability in the wild. Lychee personally struggles from sensitive eyes and hunting! Lychee is sensitive to light which makes him not able to look at sunlight for long and has trouble focusing his eyes on things so half the time he sees very blurry. he usually stays in the shade and rests his eyes by closing them, when he does this he uses his other senses in case he needs to be on the move while resting them. he also can have a clan member lead him! he struggles to hunt and blend in with his white coat so he gets rarely put in hunting duty, the only exception is in winter since he blends in perfectly but even then his eyes struggle to adapt to the fast movment with his eyes-he usually gets clan duties :)
for people wondering on appearance and how albinism affects ppl do ur own research!! it can affect ppl differently!!!

Please do tread lightly when using the term "Aspergers", and perhaps try to avoid using it to label autism, as it is considered to be offensive not only due to the connotations behind it, but also the origin of the name itself. In recent years, the diagnosis term has been phased out in favour of just labelling it as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Other than that, this video is very informative and helpful :D

My bro has Autism and I like how you went into about it, but I have a problem, I don’t really like people who do rp these disability, my bro is really sensitive about jokes about it and people just rping about it he takes it as a insult, and how most people get it wrong most of the time.
Also to tell you bit more about it: my bro gets overwhelmed a lot of loud and high steak like roller coaster, theme parks (crowded areas like Comicon and that sort of stuff), and REALLY sensitive about yelling.
But it isn’t really ok to be faking it, I have ADHD and I’m a very slow learner, and I get made fun for it and I just see people online rping and in there bio its has ADHD or Autism and it’s hurts because they don’t really understand the struggles we go through.
Ok that’s my long take about rping Autism and ADHD, please respect :>
(Also I don’t speak for all only me and my bro,)
(ALSO: I don’t like the rping disability is my opinion ok? please don’t hate on me for it and don’t hate on other people that rp disability because of me, kk?)

as autistic person, here are a few things you missed, 1. autistic people tend to zone out not really listening which can go for a few seconds to a minute, 2. people with autism will sometimes choose to not speak, instead they might make noises or hand gestures, 3. the reaction to certain textures, like jumping away, covering there ears, and doing there best to avoid it. a example from my experience as a autistic person, the sound of someone rubbing there fingers on paper, its like nails down a chalk board for me. great video btw

    I used to have epilepsy attacks. I completely forgot what form of epilepsy I had, and I don't have them anymore, but here's what happened to me personally;
I would usually still be awake "late at night" (for a 9 y/o that'd be around 10) and sometimes get these weird tingles in my lips. Usually I just bit my lip until they went away, but one time I had a full-on attack. In my case, I had a lot of muscle spasms and could not move, at all. I also foamed a lot at my mouth. These attacks didn't last long and when me and my parents went to the doctor, I got a medicine that I should take if the attack lasted longer than five minutes-luckily I've never had to take this and I haven't had any attacks since then.

Hey, i have autism and I’m not sure animals (non-human) can have autism? I checked with dogs and it implies against.
    Also as someone diagnosed
    -yes, theres a wide spectrum!
    -I have quite low functioning.
-i am scared of loud noises (trauma and autism)
-lights, noises, etc can be very stressful.
    -we are all very unique.
-tones of voice, crowded spaces, stern voices or faces do overwhelm me.
-i do meltdown alot in school settings, i also meltdown sometimes if exposed to foods i dislike, textures, noises and lights.
Again: i don’t believe autism can occur in non human animals -nothing is suggesting they can or can’t though, it can be genetic.
I, too, struggle with change. Eg: my school (when i was in year 6) moved year 2s to the same playground as year 6 (HORRIBLE IDEA!) the year 2s were horrible.
“I could do better drawing than that” (yes they talk like that))
    (Literally punched my friend)
    Etc,
This is bad. Try not to make unnecessary changes in areas autistic people HAVE TO BE. It is generally a bad idea.

While cats can have epilepsy and PTSD, be very careful when roleplaying as a cat with autism. As cats cannot have/be diagnosed with autism, roleplaying as an autistic cat is reportable to the WCUE mods as it can be seen as insensitive appropriation. Make sure you're roleplaying accurately, and with sensitivity to individuals who are impacted by autism
