    Clear, concise, no-nonsense review. Really well presented. I like it when reviewers include other lights by comparison, helps so much to evaluate different characteristics.

    I've heard alot of people talking about this light not throwing far...150meters isn't exactly short range...the g20 is designed to be a flashlight that has extreme (flood) of course it won't (throw) as far as my nitecore mh20GT or my eagletac mx25l3 mtg2...however it kicks the hell out of both of them at a shorter range...it is for seeing (everything ) at once not just something at a distance.

      I just used it now fishing on the lake last night. It's awesome. Got a little warm being on high so long. But I just dunked it in the lake and cooled it off. Great light.

    I have been using a throw light and it looks cool but for my job I prefer the flood. I don't often need to see people at long distances.

    Just received my G20 in the mail today, gonna test it out tonight and see if it really holds up to the test. I tested it out in the house and almost blinded myself.

    I’ve been using mine daily for the last three weeks and Its been a real pain. First off, you need to remember to locked it out all the time, it will turn on on you. Second, its more of a flood light than a search light. It doesn’t have as much usable range as a ultra fire 300 lm zoomable flashlight. Don’t get me wrong, its bright and makes a good house light but for what it cost there are a lot more versatile lights out there for a lot less money. I might add the stitching on the holster fell apart after two weeks.

    • @omegarad123
      @omegarad123 7 лет назад

      I don't know about a 300lm flashlight iutshining a 3000lm flashlight?..maybe a 700lm or 800lm thrower would throw farther but it's still not going to be brighter.

    • @frankl1955
      @frankl1955 7 лет назад

      No doubt, my point was that the usable range of the G20 didn’t match a UltraFire Zoomable 300 lm light and I own both. The G20 puts out a lot more light but the range isn’t there since its optics are set up for more of a flood light. One of my test for range is the Cell phone tower at work, when I pit the 3000lm ($100.00) against the 300 lm zoomable ($3 -$5) against the top of the tower the G20 got a big laugh from my co-workers.
      To be fair, the G20 comes with a battery and built in charger and the UltraFire does not, and when the 300lm is set to flood the G20 knock its socks off.
      In short, myG20 has been relegated to house and backyard duty due to its range (or lack thereof) and the fact that you have to remember to perform a two handed lockout after every time you use it or it will turn on by itself. One time I forgot to lock it out and had it in my pocket and smelled cotton burning, my first thought was "this is gotta go", I had it in my pocket because the holster it came with fell apart after two weeks

      +Frank L I understand what your saying...flashlights as(goofy) as this is going to sound are much like guns...for long range you use a rifle.. short range pistol or shotgun...each has its own purpose but even being short range can still be unbelievably powerful!

    • @frankl1955
      @frankl1955 7 лет назад

      Actually thats a pretty good analogy. The G20 is like a sawed off shotgun with a hair trigger.

      good question. this is solid. Very sturdy. I'm about to review the Olight R50 Pro too. It's very similar to this and so far i'm liking it just a bit more. Stay tuned.

    hey :)
    I would like to ask if this is still the best choice for the money? My father is a hunter, and his birthday is coming up but since the video is from 2016, I was wondering if there is something better available on the market for the price :D
    Thx in advance :D
    Best regards.
    Great video btw :D

      Depending on your budget, the Olight R50 would be my first choice. The Thrunite TC20 would be second. I compare all three in this video: ruclips.net/video/I1qZPIYIWtU/видео.html
      If you don’t quite need 3,000+ lumens, I would recommend this one: ruclips.net/video/Bd7xCvhpeLw/видео.html

    What is the emitter used in the G20 ?
    I assume it is a single emitter, yes ?

    • @InCountry6970
      @InCountry6970 7 лет назад

      Thanks, It reads as a single emitter (WOW)
      Are they driving that beast ?!

    • @HarleyWood23
      @HarleyWood23  7 лет назад

      11Bravo40
      Yeah. It's a single emitter. That 26650 is the key. Can't wait for more lights to start using that little powerhouse battery.

    • @InCountry6970
      @InCountry6970 7 лет назад

      Word is that little is known about this new 26650 battery and who makes the innards and that could be dangerous. The 18650 has been out for years and most in the know are aware that Panasonic 18650A are the best and most reliable and has honest mAh ratings.
      Tesla is making a new battery, along with Panasonic, their partner, and it is the 2170. I would trust that battery over any other, at this time
      We'll see . . .

    Which do you think is best to buy between this klarus G20 or the new Olight R50 PRO for floodlight?

      That's a tough one. Admittedly I do not have any hands-on experience with the R50...yet. It seems equally impressive. Hopefully I can get it soon. Thanks for watching.

    • @murkelei
      @murkelei 7 лет назад +1

      Can't tell from own experience, but I've read two german tests both stating that the 3000 lumen claim for the G20 is highly exaggerated. It actually has about 2200 lumen. Which may be some answer to the question.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 7 лет назад +1

      I read that early versions of this light used the XHP50 emitter and had about 2000-2500 lumen. Then the newer versions came out using the XHP70 and they were rated at 3000 lumen. So some new lights still had the old papers inside showing the lower output which was confusing some folks. Also, the ITS thermal management tends to drop the turbo power down after about a minute or so. I haven't seen anyone measure what it drops down to, but it looked like between 650 and 1500 lumen.

    • @murkelei
      @murkelei 7 лет назад

      They measured it during highest mode of course. Not sure about the XHP50 / XHP70 matter, but they were NOT confused by some papers, they actually measured it.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 7 лет назад

      Yeah, I did some more reading up on it and the results seem to vary, some people measure it way less than 3000 lm, like 2000 and others measure around 2500. That's weird. Assuming they were all xhp70, then Klarus might have a quality control problem.
      It seems the xhp70 would need 4 amps at 8 volts to put out 3000 lm. I assume the G20 uses a boost driver (I can't find details) so that would mean the single battery draw (4 volts) would be about 8 amps. Did any of the reviewers measure the amp draw on turbo?
      It's a bit tricky due to no tailcap, but it can be done other ways.
      I'm waiting for the Convoy version of this light. :-)
