I found this video a couple of days ago when I was trying to learn schema on my own. I did not realize it cover building schema directly, but I figured building a GPT that help me building schema should work based on this video's concept. I paused almost every minutes, so that I can try it on my own (for serval hours). It completely changed my way of thinking and learning new things. I made great progress for learning schema (actually asking GPT to build schema for me) just by watching the first ten minutes. Then I realized in the second part you actually covered building schema!! Now I know the resource like newsapi that I can do more practices and have a better understanding of it. THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for sharing these lessons. I have been watching your videos for several months and feel like I am learning along side of you. You are mentoring thousands of people just like me. Keep up the great work!
The best GPT Builder Explainer Video I have watched so far, out of say 30 plus Videos. Where you differ, is you go deep into the Detail so for Beginners like me, we can Follow and Reproduce. Great Video and I am now Subscribed to your Channel.
Watched a few of your videos. An observation I made is that you say “if I could speak” in all the ones I’ve watch 😅. Not annoying or anything just something I thought I’d share
Amazing GPT, and I wouldn't lie I was just planning to create a gpt on Pokemon and I have no idea that it has API. Just like any other video I have learned a tons from it.
Hahaha! As soon I got access to the GPTs, I made one just to assist me to brainstorm ideas while at the same time helped me fill the fields within the 'Configure' tab (because I'm lazy af haha!) Obvs, this GPT is waaaaay more advanced! Thanks for sharing the knowledge with the us non-coding peasants🤓
This is super cool Corbin ai, I've been thinking about creating the same thing myself as there is no clear instructions out there explaining how to add custom actions You saved me the effort and I think you should get compensated by Openai for this one! Ill vote for you if given the opportunity.
Very cool. Thank you. Could you do a vid where you use that GPT to create a working GPT for actions. This will make it super clear to use non Devs. And will also help with the trouble shooting part. Thanks again 😊
Very helpful video. I just used your "GPT Customizer, File Finder & JSON Action Creator" GPT to create the Actions yaml and it worked on the first try. Kudos to you for the videos and the very helpful GPT app.
I'd recommend using dark mode (apparently most prople prefer it, to the point that they could leave if they get light mode), and a window size that makes the text appear larger, since there's people on tablets and laptops. Bullet points wouldn't hurt. Audio is low too.
great watch! I actually follow this video and build my gpt parallel to it (to learn) Only issue I am facing: I am 10 minutes in and GPT tells me I have reached the max usage cap and I have to come back to continue in 1 hour ... :-(
Just got here to your channel, thank you my friend, this is mighty useful stuff! For this particular GPT I've linked to the one you built and I'm also rebuilding it on my own to get the process down...interestingly, I'm getting different results...still the wild west.
wow this was very helpful! I got it to generate some code to interact with my notion documents. I dont know for sure yet if it *works* but as soon as the GPT servers stop being overloaded ill be sure to test it out.
Hey Corbin - great video, as always. Quick question. if you create a custom GPT, if people want to use it by clicking on the url/link will they have to create a ChatGPT account?
The burning question is... how would you get the GPTs we created into the upcoming GPT store? and would they require the user to create an account? Seems like something is missing. @@webcafeai
One of the things i'm triyng to figure out with GPT Builder is if I can have GPT ask a series of questions and once it's finished, store all of the persons answers into a data base and then retrieve it during that conversation. The goal is to create a business bot that asks incredible questions, learns about your business then offers tailored advise, but if the information eventually vanishes it would be a giant waste of time.
Next time you should show the results it gives you actually working, just to give the video a nice conclusion. Just a suggestion. It was a good video, thank you.
Enjoyed this, but just before you start Pokémon example there is a quick shot of the Configure Instructions, and there is only a very short paragraph in the textfield, so where did all your previous instructions and examples go because it still seems to do everything you've asked up to that point, yet the instructions don't seem to be what is telling it what to do? Does it also remember everything, "somewhere else" even if no longer written in the textfield? Most other videos seem to be saying, "don't use Create because it loses/overwrites it's instructions" Do you have a more complete answer to what is going on? Thanks
Its a bit sad that the built in gpt creator AI is actually insufficient in creating a gpt so we are forced to make a custom gpt to fix that GPTs dont even know their own actions schema format!
There's a reason for this: The easier it is to automate these things, the faster we approach AGI. OpenAI needs the data to understand exactly what the iterative capabilities, but more importantly, the issues will be in order to be prepared for the onslaught of automation it brings about, while still having time to correct for any issues.... or ensure that some capabilities can't be used for as much harm as good.
Watched a lot of your videos but don't recall you explaining when and why some instructions, very explicit, are not followed by the GPTs, and if there is a way to fix that
Found your channel today! Great content! Thank you Corbin. You make me think of one of my good friends in Texas ;) I have a question. I am creating a custom GPT for our clients to help them create content faster. I want to add this to our website with a paywall and a login. Do you have a video on that? Also, when I change something in the GPT it is almost like it goes backwards and the initial action is not what it is doing. I keep reminding it of its main goal and how it should behave but it keeps doing its own thing. Something to go around that? for example, the user clicks on the conversation message that has a clear instruction to the user it is supposed to wait for a file to be uploaded, instead it just goes down a rabbit hole with all the steps and no context. Do you have a video around this too?
Hey! I believe to make a custom GPT as described here, this would be a great video: ruclips.net/video/6P6MQ_j73mI/видео.html In regards to having the instructions clear when making additions, a process I use is copying my instructions in my notes so that if it loses where I am, I can fall back to it also by pasting those instructions in and telling it to add specifically to that.
Corbin I wish there was a way to make my GPT read and summarize RUclips videos like VoxScript by only pasting the video link into the user's request. Is there a code script that could mimic VoxScript into the Open AI schema code structure?
Thanks for the lesson. Very useful! I'm currently making a custom GPT to invoke twitter api, but have hit a wall. Will you be making such a tutorial video in the future?
Is there another way to create these GPTs if you want to actually build a business around them? I am cap by the limit of GPT4 and is very hard to the iteration of the cuatom model.
The dude spent half an hour dumping information into GPT builder, not realizing that it simply condences the whole thing into a 5 sentences paragraph no matter how much information you dump at it. Moreover, new instructions usually overwrite the previous ones.
I dont know a damn thing about creatings gpts and this is evlxactly what i was thinking wpuld be awesome. Nice to see someone has done this i was trying now there is an answer. Sweetnesses.
Great video! Thank you. One doubt. I see when uploading many knowledge articles/files, OPENAI has problems and the quality of the responses goes down. So when there's 100s of pdf's to read from, would be the way to work on this outside openaI in maybe another LLM? So for example, create the flow in Flowise, with memory, pdf upload and connection, then once this is processed, connect this via api from the openai chat-assistant. Know what i mean? I guess this way, with so much data, we would need to work on fine tuning an LLM directly?
In the context of these GPTs and data sources, the best approach would be to identify the relevance of each data source and how they should be used in the context of the chat. For example, if the purpose is to serve as a cooking guide and you've uploaded a data source on how to cook a steak, then you would train the GPT to reference that specific data source if it is deemed necessary based on the user's input.
The main problem is that OpenAi doesn't give any error handling, just Error and that's it. I've tried to check my schema with your GPT, it said everything is correct. 2 days past and I don't know what to do. I will try to fetch API data via zapier and back it to my GPT
You are not making gpt smarter and more attuned to the user, you are making it dumber by limiting its capability to web browsing and displaying results.

OpenAI is using the OpenAPI schema, which is a standard specification for defining APIs.
13:03 I think openAi should add a "bookmark instructions" option to go back to previous instructions in the event it goes in the wrong direction.
I just have a notes file open with each iteration pasted.
