Great video! Your explanation is much more clearer than the Zapier guide. I tried to set up AI actions to make GPTs create Google Tasks. But I found it failed to create multiple tasks through the week. Is it because that we can only use One Action at one time. Or is it because I did not give out clear instructions to let GPT run several times of the actions.
Hey Corbin! The new custom GPTs have a knowledge section where you can feed it information such as pdf files but there seems to be a 10 file upload limit after which it errors out. Would using actions make it possible for the gpt to read data from an external soruce lets say a personal google drive to learn more about the topic? If so , do you have a video on something like that?

Hi, the URL import wasn't working, it was because I was accessing ChatGPT from Colombia. Whith a VPN, through USA, it worked . Someone from Brazil had the same problem

How easy would it be to have this functionality in the GPT AI Assistant? I'm guessing that the Oauth stuff from Zapier would be handled by the developer, and OpenAI doesn't provide much of an abstraction with Zapier there

such a informative vid ! but i faced a problem , and I can't find any help with that.If i using some action that some field need Ai to guess , and it is a must value , it will go wrong . such as , if I using trello, and say , find a card named "gpt test" , and comment below "gpt test comment" , it will always go wrong since I dont want to specify the field "card" , what can I do?
thanks for the video... but... it is still not very useful yet. It takes longer to issue the instructions than to execute the task.
I think for all of this to be effective these actions are going to have to be baked into the apps we are already using. Context is missing in many cases and it takes too long to tell the bot what to do.

I see function calls being used more frequently in the context of software development, and now we have the capability to enable GPT to call pre-existing functions within your software. This is extremely powerful and exciting. GPT actions provide a more user-friendly way to achieve this, but they have limitations as we are confined to the GPT user interface.

In this context, a workaround would be to provide a Google Drive link to the relevant image in the GPT chat and then have Zapier parse that.

I had a question I was hoping you could answer. Is it possible to use a custom GPT from OpenAi and actions with Zapier to have the following happen:
1. User is prompted by the custom GPT to enter something in the chat box like a name.
2. That name is then populated to an Excel file using Zapier actions.
3. Then a specific result from a Cell from that same Excel file is returned back to the user into original custom GPT chat.
Thanks to your videos, I have been successfully able to handle Step 1 & 2 above, but I am not sure how to do Step 3.
Can you offer any suggestions?

Try incognito and go through the login process again. In this context, it's just looking for you to accept access from Zapier to OpenAI.

Is it possible to embed a custom GPT on a website and “skin” it with different frontend styles?

You can’t technically embed the gpt in your website but you could build a custom chatbot for your website by using the newly available open ai gpt assistant API
Embedding directly? No but you can use the gpt api to pull/send the replies and then wrap the output in whatever flavor you like 🎉

Quick clarifying question: Are there actions that can be taken via a GPT that cannot be taken via an Assistant API?
In that context, I believe the answer would be no. If anything, using the Assistant API allows us to do a lot more with this model, such as integrating it into our website!
not really an ''Action'' but feature like Dall-E 3 (image generation) the Assistant API cant do that yet. so GPTs are limited within the Openai interface but have that cool feature, as well as GPT vision and voice chat through openai interface.
The way I understood it is that AI actions initiate from the GPT interface and AI assistant can embed actions within existing Zapier processes outside ChatGPT. But I also am just trying to figure all this out myself 😂
Hey Corbin, another question for you. If I create a GPT and set up a list of AI Actions by Zapier and I want to share this GPT with my team who all have GPT Plus accounts does this mean:
1. They would be limited to the actions that I set up
2. If they were to have the GPT perform a Zapier action, would it prompt them to log in to Zapier and set up the actions so it can be performed on their account OR
would the action that they want to perform be done using my Zapier automation that I originally created?
3. If you're sharing a GPT with AI Actions by Zapier publicly, how does this all work?

From my understanding, they would still need to authenticate to use the actions. To get around this, you could achieve the same desired actions using a webhook, allowing your team to leverage the automations. Check out this video; it showcases how to add a webhook:

In this context, I believe you need to proctor your ChatGPT chat to prompt it to inquire whether you will enable Zapier for AI Actions. Since I had already done this before creating this video, it did not appear in the video. I'm trying to it following your video but, the attached file in the email is allways and empty file (.txt). Same thing happen when you try to upload the image to google drive. I hope you can help me regards!
I believe that as of now, ChatGPT does not allow for image data to be taken out of the chat.

Yeah most GPTs will be nonsense that just save you a sentence or two of prompting, but I bet people will do some crazy stuff with Zapier actions
