I have over time heard many beautiful renditions of this great concerto by many famous cellists however this execution and interpretation was somehow different and more beautiful.I have to admit never having hear of Nicola's Altsteadt but I will certainly look out for him now.It was simply stunning quality ! Thank you !!
@Jeremy Lamb Altstaed is a Sensation, and one of the most incredibly charismatic of musicians ! And he really assume risks and..dare ! The result are superb for he is a great and rare musician...
@@RedTheCellist He is mediocre. Awful dynamic range, bad rubatos, and egotistical performance (and no I don't mean his physical mannerisms). Every musical decision he makes is filled with ego, it's superficial passion. This performance by Nikolas was even worse surprisingly.
This has to be the most revolutionary interpretations of this concerto I have ever heard. Bravo.

That guy is a beast of a cellist.

Hardest working man in classical music.

Erste keet voor mij ... Heel mooi . dank u .
I'm glad to see the musical philosophy of Daniil Shafran is alive and well.
Very beautiful interpretation.. Thanks!
Wat een heerlijke macho; wordt subliem gespeeld. Ook het Kamerorkest heeft ie in zijn ban. Fantastisch
Look at that! It was published today, 06/16/2016.
Very nice. thank you.
STUNNING AND SUBLIME!
Sensibility is all in this world
Bravi, Nicolas!
Great Schumann.
sublime
GREAT! ❤THANK YOU!🙏
C’est prodigieux
Great !
2:30 holy shit, the amount of different steps involved in turning the page.
Wait, where are the winds and the timpani??
Second part...there is also a damn cello orchestra solo...c'mon directors...show that guy too
Molto bravo! Quindi è possibile suonare questo concerto con i metronomi di Schumann . Molto più bello . Grazie !
complimenti !!!
Bravooo 👋👋👋👋
Well, let me go check out Yo-yo Ma performing this piece. Then I checked out Kian Soltani's performance.
Veramente un ottimo violoncellista, grande talento, avrà in programma di iscriversi alla Formula 1?
Ma che senso ha suonare così veloce, si vince un premio? il tempo giusto è sempre il migliore.

It looks like Isserlis' interpretation.
Nowhere near it. Isserlis is beyond everyone when it comes to this piece.

S.L You are crazy to say such a thing, these two cellist are some of the most beautiful and transangental cellists I have ever seen
Sublim!
The economy version of the concerto? I definately miss the wind instruments. And the final: Too fast - at the expense of the sound ...
Do NOT want channel!
this lacks a bit of sensitivity at some places
Good musician, but I just find him well... "slapgat".
