Dang Blood, you’re not screwing around! “Rise and shine! It’s 5 a.m., and here’s you’re Monster Monday yanks!” Yo, btw, you should start a live play podcast with your campaign. Everything else out there is brutal!
Haha! Yeah, it's 10:00 over here, so I'm just having my morning coffee and reading through comments. I'm definitely up for doing the live play thing, but one of my current group is apprehensive about being filmed, so I may (if I find time to do two sessions) film another group etc. Either way, thanks for watching!
Bit of a loredump for a character i've been playing in Rime of the Frostmaiden. The Githzerai are some of my favorite cosmic creatures. Kwi'zatz Haderach. A Githzerai Artificer, joined with a renegade sect of Gith reunifucation bounty hunters, who attempt to bring Yanki and Zerai together by showing the bond between the kin and the unification of their cultures. Kwee led as first mate to a Spelljammer Nautiloid stolen called the Thoughtseize, under his Bloodbrother, a Yanki named Tutankhet. Their Jammer crashed while attempting to seek out an Illithid nest in Ten Towns of the Forgotten realms, killing all but Kwee and launching him out into the snow. Kwee was lost, memory distorted as he was attempting to bond his mind to the Spelljammer itself in order to build personalized bio-organic armor based on the Nautiloid design. Over time, his memory regained as he learned to connect with his rescuers, traveling adventurers who taught him how to work with non-gith, opening his heart to incorporate others into his very secretive culture. As an Armorer, he uses his psionic power to grow and bond with Arcane Bio-Armor, allowing him, a frail Gith, to fight against the Frostmaiden's Tyranny in an effort to free the people within and return home.
I will again say, this channel is worth way more than the views its received. It's an amazing resource for DMs for understanding creatures and their motivations. The art is a bonus: use Arcane Forge to build your world in a fantastic way.
Firstly just want to thank you so much for making this amazing series I watched all 40+ episodes in one night and enjoyed every last minute. The image followed by the narrative about lore and ideas spun the wheel in my head. Secondly there are two creatures I specifically adore which both may make for great designs one is the hydroloth however you've already drawn two frog type creatures so the other one is a little guy called a Xvart which are a bunch of whacky little fiends. Personally I imagine them wearing tribal outfits and tiki masks all very distinct from each other to form some individuality or Identifying markers because there all identical otherwise, anyway thats my rant thanks heaps!
Thank you so much gluttony! I'm so glad that you find these useful and interesting! I'd be making them if no one liked them, but it makes all the effort worth it to know that they're fun for you too. Those are some really cool suggestions! I think that Xvarts have maybe turned up on the "to draw" list somewhere, but I'll double check, and I'll 100% put hydroliths on there for you! Cheers for watching and for the continued support!
I'm glad that you decided to cover the Gith in depth. Their Jedi/Sith sort of dichotomy has great story potential. Speaking of things that I'd like to know more about, have you considered covering the Yugoloths at all?
Hey Joshua. Thank you so much! I had loads of fun with them, and I'm hoping to invest in their lore a lot in my own campaign, so let me know if you do too! I can't remember if Yugoloths have been suggested or not, but if they're not already on my "to draw" list, then I'll make sure to put them on there for you! Cheers for watching and for the suggestion!
Thanks so much, DinoWookie! I'm so glad that this made you more excited about the Gith! I have to say, after delving into them, I really want to play one too! Cheers for watching!
I love your design and the Magic-Science Design. In my Campaign one of my players a Ranger is a Horizon Walker and he gave me free reign to create his Backstory. And I kinda had a vague concept that he was an Agent of a Conjuration Wizard who send him out into different Dimsensions to find stuff for the Wizards experiments. There my Ranger met "something" and he lost his memory. At first I was thinking a Genie but honestly the Githyani and Githzerai could explain my Rangers cool "kinda" futuristic Gear better. Thank you so much for being not only a high quality youtuber, great artist but also an inspiration.
Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments, Jan! Not only that but your great ideas! I love the thought of your Horizon Walker, and I'm so glad that this fits into your setting! Cheers for watching.
One of my players has a cool idea where he is going to play as either a Githyanki of a Githzerai, however his characters mother is a Githyanki & father is a Githzerai. Awesome video as always, and bet it’ll help with my players backstory. 😂
Always been a fan of the Gith since I played Planescape: Torment; Dak'kon was the MAN. If I may suggest a new monster for next week, perhaps continue with the G theme by drawing a Ghoul or Ghast?
I like this two-parter format 😁 I might have to play a Githyanki at somepoint, you've gotten my wheels turning. I can't wait to see what's next on the schedule ❤❤
Lol! This made me snort a little out loud! I'll definitely put Tritons on my "to draw" list for you, Lore Books. Thanks so much for the suggestion and for watching!
Heya Lee! Absolutely! There's a "Monster Monday" Option on the patreon where you get 4 of my prints digitally. Just shoot me a message on Patreon and let me know that you'd like this Githzerai to be one of yours and I'll send it to you. Thank you for your support!
Well, the Gith are suddenly a large part of the home brew I’m writing now...
Great stuff, dude!
haha! Awesome! I'm so glad to hear that, Steve. Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words.

This one was absolutely gorgeous. I wish more people saw these; I've already been sharing some about.

Nice. Githzerai would make a good mystic class.
They definitely would! I could see an arcane trickster working really well too; if you played it more like psionics.
Cheers for watching.

Loved this little series! makes me want to play a Gith!!
Great work as always Josh!!

The more preferred Gith find along your travels. Nice vid.
Thanks so much, Istvan. Cheers for watching!

Awesome video as always, and bet it’ll help with my players backstory. 😂
That's a really cool idea! I love the "torn between two worlds" idea...perhaps literally in this case! Let me know how it goes!
Cheers for sharing.

Ooohhh I've been waiting to do Ghouls! I'll definitely pop them on my "to draw" list.
Cheers for the suggestion, roman!
This video was actually emotional for me. :) Thanks for this, Josh! :)
Awh, that's really sweet, Crafty! I'm glad you liked it!
I like this two-parter format 😁 I might have to play a Githyanki at somepoint, you've gotten my wheels turning. I can't wait to see what's next on the schedule ❤❤
Thanks so much, Sarah! I had loads of fun with this! Maybe I need to draw more multi-part series like this!
Cheers for watching!
Ahhh, the Jedi of D & D
I would like to see the deep spawn please
Should do a video on the flail snail 🐌
Yuuuusss! I can't wait to draw a Flail Snail!!!!
They would seem fun with the shells being so colourful
So basically,
Space Warriors.
I'm boutta summon Jupiter in my bare hands and launch it at a motherfucking rat.
Also, can you do one on the Triton Race?
They were my first race, so I'm pretty attached tbh.
Lol! This made me snort a little out loud!
I'll definitely put Tritons on my "to draw" list for you, Lore Books.
Thanks so much for the suggestion and for watching!
Love this art. Is there way to get this as a jpg if we contribute to your patreon?
Heya Lee! Absolutely! There's a "Monster Monday" Option on the patreon where you get 4 of my prints digitally. Just shoot me a message on Patreon and let me know that you'd like this Githzerai to be one of yours and I'll send it to you.
Thank you for your support!
Arcane Forge cool which level of support is that. I can’t seem to find it
No worries! Its the $20 "Deck of Monster Mondays" pledge. I believe its the 3rd pledge level from the top?
Thank you again!
can you draw Neothelid?
Before this 2-part series, I had no interest in the gith at all. Let's just say that's changed!
I'm so glad, Sideways! That's so awesome to hear!
Cheers for watching.
Dragon
It's coming Claude. Thanks so much for suggesting!
First!
Cheers for being here!
I was going to make my usual pun, but the Gith spoke to me, they told me to "Gith it a rest."
Haha! I'm going to have to be mindful of potential pun-based creatures in future!
Cheers for watching as always!
