I have a question. If they're called "Flumphs" by adventurers because of the noise they make, what do you reckon they call their own species? From my point of view as a DM, the Monster Manual describes the monsters from the perspective of a player/adventurer, which means some things will have silly names.
I totally get you, Doctor Tequila. I'm glad that "Mind Flayers" let us know that they're called Illithids. I would imagine that Flumphs are just too polite to correct us when we call them Flumphs, but it would be interesting if they had their own term fro themselves. Apparently the scientific name for a jellyfish is "Medusozoa" according to Wikipedia, so maybe they call themselves the "Mentasoza" or the "Meducerebellum"? Maybe that's a bit long. Have you come up with anything fun for their name?
I'm actually a tattoo artist and today I was doing a flumph on one of my customers. But something I call The Dark Flumph. A grumpy looking sky jellyfish with rust brown and red and black as it's color scheme and 3 floating eyes but talks in a rediculous bubbly voice and one hell of a temper. When we finished the piece you had just released this video. Me and the customer both lost it. Thank u Josh.
Welcome back. Great to see content from you again. Please do not pee on jellyfish stings, it won't help and is pretty gross.. Vinegar (and Baking Soda) or Sea Water and a plastic card to remove the stings.
Hey Sebasculin! I hope to go my entire life without having to pee on anyone, so don't worry, I'll definitely push it very far down my list of priorities if someone gets stung! Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks so much, Lobo! I'm super excited to make more content, and I feel well rested and ready for it. Thanks so much for your support and your kind words. Cheers for watching!
Absolutely! I can't believe it! I have a sort of secret hope to reach 10k by the end of the year, but we'll see if that'll happen. Fingers and toes crossed!
What audio? I WAS reaching out to you telepathically :P Just don't watch the video too many times, I can't spend all day communicating that way. Cheers for watching.
Glad you.re back. This series has helped as a new DM to better understand the monsters. Would love to see one on Strahd von Zarovich as I am currently running Curse of Strahd for my group.
Thanks so much, Kenny! I'm really glad to be back. I was away for just long enough to be unbelievably excited about making as much content as I can! Thanks so much for watching!
Welcome back, Arcane! Sorry if I'm repeating myself from your last monster monday but can you do the illithilich please? I want to use it as a final boss for a campaign I'm planning, but I don't really understand them yet (you don't have to if you don't want to)
Thanks so much, BlueReptile (Also great profile picture). I'll definitely add Illithiliches to the Monster Monday list, not to worry. Thank you for that awesome suggestion and for watching.
Thanks so much! I was a plan of the slower pace of this one. Turns out that Flumphs do'n take anywhere near as long as some of the other creatures that've been suggested so far. Cheers for watching and for the warm welcome.
Welcome back! I've never faced or used a flumph in D&D, but that's because most of the adventures I run are set in cities, but the party is going to fight mind flayers soon, so I'll put some in then. Great art!
Thanks so much Jan! I've really missed being here and making videos (despite having a great time on holiday too). Thanks very much for being here, for your kind compliments and your wonderful welcome!
Great to see you back Josh! Monster Monday's are the only thing that make the start of my week tolerable... Would you be able to draw a Sibriex? The official artwork makes them look a bit... mutant ninja turtle... Would love to see your take on them.
Hey Daniel! Don't worry, I'll definitely put the Sibriex on my "to draw" list. I can't wait to reach it. It'll be hard to make something MORE horrifying than the original artwork, but I'll find a way! Cheers for watching.
My halflings call themselves Höfflins, but I hadn't given Flumphs much thought before this video. I'll probably think of something based on Greek or Latin when I include them eventually.
Welcome back! I love how much research goes into your videos, they're so fun to watch, and I wish I could share them with my party, but alas, then they'd know what to do if I throw one of these bad (Or in this case, very good) bois at them. Also, have you considered drawing a Faerie dragon? I think you could put a real unique twist on these tiny colorful dragons.
Hey, Honey Shuckle! Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments. I have a lot of fun making these videos so I'm glad that you enjoy them. I feel like someone has suggested the Faerie Dragon, and I'm eager to reach that on my "to draw" list. I love the idea of something utterly fey like that! Cheers for watching!
Excellent video, so excited your back, hopefully you had a good vacation! I'm going to be a point financially where I can support your patreon soon, finally, and get those awesome prints! Was wondering if you could add a Sousinger Mermaid or some kinda mermaid to your list? I don't know if u remember the one I did in your anniversary video, but I really like mermaids and their lore. Have an excellent week!
Thanks so much, David! I'm looking forward to having you as a part of the Patreon team, too! Was it you who mentioned Discord as well btw? I'm setting that up, if it was. I loved your Mermaid, and that sounds like a great one with lots of real-life folklore and legends to research, which are always my favourite creatures. I'll definitely put that on the list. Thanks for being so supportive!
It's completely unrelated to D&D but do a video on how the jellyfish sting works. I just assume everyone gets all their info from youtube like me lol ruclips.net/video/7WJCnC5ebf4/видео.html
Welcome back! I'd forgotten you were going abroad and wondered what happened! Been thinking about submissions for a while; and Halloween has gotten me thinking about Hook Horrors. Any chance of adding them to the list if they aren't there already?
Hmm, well apart from the aforementioned Hook Horrors, I don't believe you've done Bullettes yet either. I have some fond memories of fighting those back in 3rd Edition.
Oh man, these Flumphs sound great. I wonder what they're like when they interact with low intelligence characters. Like *really* low intelligence. What if you're traveling by yourself, and you come across a starving one, but can't save it because you're literally too much of an idiot to produce enough psychic energy for it to feed off of.
LMAO! This sounds like a really great idea. It kind of reminds me of an episode of Futurama where floating brains take over the earth by consuming people's intelligence. Fry, the main protagonist, is just so unintelligent that they can't affect his mind and so it's left to an idiot to save the earth. Let me know if you use your idea! I'd love to hear how it goes! Cheers for watching.
They're super fun, Sweeps! Definitely make sure to put them in your next campaign, or ask your DM. They make for a great break in all the horrors of a dark dungeon. Cheers for watching!
Yeah for sure, I've tried DMing a few times but I just don't feel like its my thing. I'll probably keep trying occasionally. By the way, I tihnk your channel might be eligible for a custom URL at this point if you weren't already aware. [EDIT] nvm I see now that you have one, it was just still showing up as a string of letters

Have you come up with anything fun for their name?
Doctor Tequila aren’t they a biological construct? What did furbees call eachother?
i know this is a rather old comment, but if you're still curious, Flumphs call themselves Oiv'hass.
@Eschaton III out of curiosity where did you get that from?
"Illithid" is undercommon meaning "mind-flayer"
The Box Jellyfish is actually the most poisonous animal in the world

Awh man, that sounds awesome! That's such a crazy coincidence! Love it! Let me know if you can share pictures. I'd love to see a flumph tattoo!
Welcome back. Great to see content from you again.

I have missed your channel so much, man.
I hope youre doing well.
Great tomhave you and this quality content back.
Thanks so much, Lobo! I'm super excited to make more content, and I feel well rested and ready for it.
Thanks so much for your support and your kind words. Cheers for watching!
Now I want my Deep Gnome Wizard to have a Flumph familiar.
Oh man! What a great combo! Make sure to let me know how that goes!
Cheers for watching!
I've missed this channel so much :D
I've missed your comments as well Miles!
Cheers for being here!
Dude you're closing in on TEN THOUSAND SUBSCRIBERS. this is amazing!!!
Absolutely! I can't believe it! I have a sort of secret hope to reach 10k by the end of the year, but we'll see if that'll happen. Fingers and toes crossed!
I think the audio makes it sound like you're telepathically speaking to us, so... appropriate for Flumphs!
What audio? I WAS reaching out to you telepathically :P Just don't watch the video too many times, I can't spend all day communicating that way.
Cheers for watching.
Flumph! Flumph! Flumph! Don't mind me just passing by. Flumph!
Haha! Brilliant! I'm glad you Flumphed on by, Gemima!
Cheers for watching.
Glad you.re back. This series has helped as a new DM to better understand the monsters. Would love to see one on Strahd von Zarovich as I am currently running Curse of Strahd for my group.
YES! I literally stopped watching another video half way through once I saw this in my feed! Missed you and your content brother welcome back
Awh man! That's such a great compliment, Chase! Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching and for your very kind welcome.
I really like listening to these while i work on maps for games, because thats the most mind numbing part of the process for me
Haha! Well I'm glad I can alleviate some of the boredom!
Thanks so much for watching.
So happy to see you posting again. Hope you enjoyed your well deserved holiday.
Thanks so much, Kenny! I'm really glad to be back. I was away for just long enough to be unbelievably excited about making as much content as I can! Thanks so much for watching!
Man these videos make my Monday mornings so much better. Cant wait for next week!
I'm so glad, Randomizer!
Really glad to have you here! Cheers for watching.
Back with a Flumph! Great job, as ever - thanks for this!
"Back with a Flumph" sounds like an album!
Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words.

Arcane Forge your welcome, double thank you, double your welcome
At first, I thought I misread it, then I read it again and shit myself at the concept
So glad you're back! And what a fun monster to start back up with. :]
Thanks so much, Mythic Mai! I had so much fun making this guy, so I'm glad you enjoyed it too.
Thanks so much for your lovely welcome!
Welcome back Josh! Missed your videos! Really like how less sped up the drawing is, we can really see your process!
And it's really fun to see how your techniques evolve (using more layers, decomposing the drawing in parts, etc.)
Thanks so much!
I was a plan of the slower pace of this one. Turns out that Flumphs do'n take anywhere near as long as some of the other creatures that've been suggested so far.

Thanks so much, George! I'm glad to be back.
Make sure to let me know how it goes when you use these guys! They're super fun.
I think that I have a new favorite dnd monster, the friendly communist flying jellyfish.
Great to have you back! As always another great video 👍🏻
Thanks so much, DinoWookie!
Really glad to have you here.

Cheers T Groeneveld! Glad to be back.

Thanks so much, Grifisom. I'm glad to be here!
Thank you.
Welcome back dude, missed your content and your lovely voice:D Hope you had a great trip.

@@ArcaneForge I don't really use discord, so probably not. I'd be down for it though.
Oh yeah, now thats a good looking creature.
Welcome back, my friend! Next time you're in the U.S. come to New England! LOL
Thanks so much, Jason! I'll make sure to do that for sure :)
Cheers for watching and for your warm welcome!
Welcome back! 😄
Thanks so much!
Glad to have you here!
I'd make a wild guess that you've been watching SmarterEveryDay :D
Cool vid and informative, thanks!
I haven't actually, have they made a flumph video? I'll definitely take a look though!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Oh man...this is going to be a huuuge time sink for me. I was definitely going to work today. I swear I was...
Cheers for sharing, Landan!
Welcome back! I have a suggestion for a little less cute Monster Monday: Sibriex.
OOooohh. Looking forward to this one, Andrea!
Thanks so much for watching and for the warm welcome!
Welcome back! I'd forgotten you were going abroad and wondered what happened!
Been thinking about submissions for a while; and Halloween has gotten me thinking about Hook Horrors. Any chance of adding them to the list if they aren't there already?
Hey Chris! Of course! There's always more room on the list. What would you like to add?
Thanks for watching.
Hmm, well apart from the aforementioned Hook Horrors, I don't believe you've done Bullettes yet either. I have some fond memories of fighting those back in 3rd Edition.

First and welcome back
Thanks so much, Ryker! Glad to be back!
Cheers for watching.
Jean Jacket from Nope. A Flumph
PIERCER please!! Brother to the roper
Flumph flumph
Love your videos EXCEPT for the horrific noises at the start.
Well, I'm glad you enjoy my videos either way, MarvelX42.
Cheers for watching!
Suggestion, imps
Aequorin is pronounced [ee-kwawr-in] ;)
You're a star. Nice one, David. Thank you.
... Can I be a Flumph? Sounds kinda fun. :v
Lingering slavic reminder of scottland occupation intensifies
I can feel the slavic vibrations from here!
Thanks for watching, taigerus!
I love your interpretation of the flumph, but flumphs are SUPPOSED to look goofy. Also, your flumph is sufficiently goofy
Haha! Thanks so much Spidey! I like a good bit of goof, but I really enjoyed getting to have my own spin on things too!
Cheers for watching!
Am I early?
No, it's ok, there's punch on the table and some snacks in the kitchen. Make yourself at home.
Welcome back!
Thanks so much, Kyle. Glad to be back!
