I'll try to explain why the garage Jack fight is so well liked. You've got a few basic elements: you, Jack, the car, and a pistol. From these elements, the fight can play out in a variety of ways. The most scripted one is having Jack impale the car on the beams, but that's only one way. You can also just keep hitting Jack with the car until it takes too much damage, or if you can't get to the car fast enough, he'll take it and try to ram you, and you have to dodge until it takes enough damage. In any case, the car explodes and Jack shoots himself in the head, but the options are pretty cool. It's basically the only boss in the game with multiple paths to defeat it.
This was just one of my favorite fights because of how fun it was and I laughed my ass off over some of Jack's quips like when he starts doing donuts to kill you.
I actually really like the tweaks they made to the fight in Madhouse Difficulty as well. It's one of if not the easiest boss once you know what your doing due to the mechanics, so it loses a lot of impact on replays for that reason, so how do you fix that for a NG+ exclusive difficulty? By changing the layout of the items in the room, the keys aren't just sitting in the open in Madhouse, I hesitate to say how as I don't want to spoil exactly how for anyone who hasn't tried Madhouse difficulty but it was a really neat and tense change on the fight that makes one think and play differently.
What kind of critique is "when I played this for the 2nd time, I realized it isn't as tense as it was the first" like.. no shit? You can apply this statement to absolutely any game out there, apart from roguelikes. Of course you wouldn't feel the tension of going through the same thing again, because you've experienced it already once and you know what exactly you need to do and expect?
@Matthew Frazier not really. Not after you defeated them 17 times But they are hard in a „they fight well“ way, not „i dont know what will happen when i pass this corner“ You can’t compare horror games to slash games

I'd say the bosses are Lady D, Angie, Moreau, Urias, Heisenberg, Urias Strajer, and Miranda, though counting Sturm could also make sense imo (though many would probably consider him a miniboss instead). The daughters, the big ogre dudes, and the beasts should probably just be considered minibosses. The Baby is neither a boss nor a miniboss, just part of a setpiece.

dude when jack got into the fucking car and comically drifted around i dont care my imerrsion was broken that was the funniest and most awesome fucking fight in the entire game
I've player this game way to much so here are my picks (not that anyone cares) 1. Mutated Marguerite (Marg 2) I really like how much you can master the boss fight, predicting where she'll be, finding her waiting for you, and trying to find her before she births a bug nest, it's really intense and surprisingly (IMO) the deepest fight in this game. 2. Jack chainsaw fight (Jack 2) This boss fight is just overall pretty chaotic and really fun, especially when just using the strat where you duck after every attack and can beat him pretty easily, it may sound like I'm taking away from it but it's Hella fun for replays 3. Jack garage fight (Jack 1) I just love how this fight can end by him stealing your car and trying to run you over or by you doing so, while nothing insane, I still enjoy how messing up a little on further replays and can really change the boss fight (also if Jack gets the car on madhouse his driving is equally awesome and terrifying) 4. Mia 2 (/mia1) Decided to lump them together because they go hand in hand but the Mia 2 one's pretty good, probably the most enjoyable on your first playthrough but pretty brain dead for repeats, this boss fight on madhouse does spice things up quite a bit when you have to axe her to death for the last few hits. 5. Mutated Jack fight (Jack 3) It's not terrible but all you do is follow his tail and shoot his weak points followed by a mini scripted fight, it's alright. 6. Marguerite pit fight (marg 1) Literally takes less than 15 seconds to beat it on every difficulty and is more of a roadblock than anything. 7. Mutated Evelyn This boss is so easy I literally beat this boss on madhouse with a knife within 2 tries.
I'm so glad this video came so soon. I love this game! Here's my personal ranking: 9: Eveline 8:Momma Molded 7: Garage Jack 6: Mutated Jack 5: Mutated Lucas 4: Mia 3: Swamp Jack 2: Mutated Marguerite 1: Chainsaw Jack Don't know if anybody agrees, but this is my personal opinion
The change to 1st person view in RE7 was such a game changer and completely turned the tables on what a RE can be, and they even struck gold twice with RE8, here's to praying whatever comes next is just as amazing!
Tip: when jack is driving/2 way stay as close as you can to his car because when he does the turns he can’t hit you and when he’s going straight forward he wouldn’t know where to go
Having to fight lucas 2 hits from death with 1 pistol mag and 1 ram rod on the hardest difficulty made it way more satisfying to win (no i didnt have the enhanced parry window, only figured out that was a thing later)
Garage Jack, as the first real boss, felt way more intense and scary than mylutated Jack. The gameplay was better for mutated Jack but it wasnt scary at all. As far as I'm concerned, that makes it the worst Jack Boss. It was too boss-battley and takes you ot of the emerson. Also, Margarette (not Margaret, as you called her) was the best boss. Super cool. The body horror is unforgettable. Chainsaw Jack is the second best boss. The slasher style boss battles just fit resi 7 better than the classic boss battle against some giant monster.
the Mia fight was so good at showing you how EMOTINAL this game is gonna be like you travel through this swamp for a woman ethan has not seen in 3 years you find her and then she attacks you and Ethan really didn't want to hurt her, he did his best to defend himself without hurting her but when he was left no choice and that Axe slammed into her neck you could just FEEL the shock in ethan and when he tried to grab her but failed.... that hurt i had to stop playing cause i was crying so much maybe im too emotinal but that really hurt it really set the tone for how good this game is gonna be (im not very far I need to play more)
Lol I had an entirely different garage Jack fight. So what happened was he got in the car before me but I kept dodging his attacks everytime and kept knifing him and eventually he just died lol and I didn't get a cutscene😕
I didn't get in the car to fight jack either. Rather I found it incredibly easy to just circle around right next to him in the car slashing with the pocket knife.
You should still play RE5 & 6 dude. Now that RE has gone back to its survival horror roots, I've found replaying 5 & 6 to be more fun as action games now that I don't have to wish for what once was anymore.
I'll be honest as someone who started the series with 5 and 6 cooping with a friend and knowing they were more action then horror they were quite fun romps especially 6 with a story that feels more like a soap opera then anything
Re 6 and 5 were good games but not what the fans might’ve wanted since it took out any horror and fear and straight up turned it into action. Re 4 was the perfect balance of horror and action but capcom messed up that momentum created by RE 4
I’ve been a long time fan of RE, I’ve been playing them for 20 years. I feel like like as far as story and character progression RE5 and 6 they do just fine with that and that’s something I’m okay with. So yeah I like RE5 and 6.
The way the mom opens doors in her boss arena is just fucking nightmare fuel. Long ass arms open the door all weird and her head pops out in a non normal way. Got I love this game
Mutated Marguerite is my favourite boss fight and also, one of the most challenging, like yeah, mutated jack is hard but he is only hard because you NEED to hit his weak points to win, with Marguerite she has only one weak point and also she is fast and has her bugs backing her up.
Couple funny stories with this game. 1. I didnt even touch the car the first time going through garage Jack. I just assumed he took my car into the garage and I had to use my knife and bullets to kill him. 2nd. Evelyn was literally impossible for me to beat the first time going through. Yes. You read that right. Impossible. In order to proceed through the fight, you have to actually deal enough damage for her to just crash through the roof, I blew almost all my ammo on my way to the fight through the salt mines with all the bloated moulded that were literal bullet sponges, making it impossible to beat Evelyn and pass the game. And no, you cant melee Evelyn, so I had to restart a checkpoint hours before because i hadn't saved since. 100% the worst fight in the game.
Jack dying to "dumb luck" is the point. This is a normal civilian up against a powerful bio-weapon monstrosity, it would be goofier for Ethan to beat him on his own so early
3:45 I had a similar experience with this fight. I got to the point where Jack steers you straight into some metal poles. I paused. I restarted. Because surely thats gunna kill me (and keep him alive) right? I wonder what percentage of players caved and relied on Google for the solution. I feel a trend in modern gaming. Really on beta methods instead of letting players truly choose their own approach.
I’mma have to disagree with Garage Jack. I understand you considering the bit where he gets into the car being an immersion breaker, but I feel like the sheer psychopathy and franticness of it made it scarier in the same way I found Village scary: a more blood-rush feeling.
Just want to ask a question, for garage jack was his complaint that getting unlimited attempts at him took away from the experience? Can someone clarify because thats how I took it and if so, that makes no sense since you get unlimited attempts on all bosses...
I liked all the bosses but the eve line is pretty much just a cut scene the most scary to me was the Margaret’s because I got paranoid of where she was gonna come from

I really like how much you can master the boss fight, predicting where she'll be, finding her waiting for you, and trying to find her before she births a bug nest, it's really intense and surprisingly (IMO) the deepest fight in this game.
2. Jack chainsaw fight (Jack 2)
This boss fight is just overall pretty chaotic and really fun, especially when just using the strat where you duck after every attack and can beat him pretty easily, it may sound like I'm taking away from it but it's Hella fun for replays
3. Jack garage fight (Jack 1)
I just love how this fight can end by him stealing your car and trying to run you over or by you doing so, while nothing insane, I still enjoy how messing up a little on further replays and can really change the boss fight (also if Jack gets the car on madhouse his driving is equally awesome and terrifying)
4. Mia 2 (/mia1)
Decided to lump them together because they go hand in hand but the Mia 2 one's pretty good, probably the most enjoyable on your first playthrough but pretty brain dead for repeats, this boss fight on madhouse does spice things up quite a bit when you have to axe her to death for the last few hits.
5. Mutated Jack fight (Jack 3)
It's not terrible but all you do is follow his tail and shoot his weak points followed by a mini scripted fight, it's alright.
6. Marguerite pit fight (marg 1)
Literally takes less than 15 seconds to beat it on every difficulty and is more of a roadblock than anything.
7. Mutated Evelyn
This boss is so easy I literally beat this boss on madhouse with a knife within 2 tries.
I did think that there was that many bosses in it never got to fight Lucas or the Grandma boss
Idk why you're not showing up in my feed, but the nice thing is - I have a bunch of videos to catch up on and binge :)
i can't wait for the community rankings of these bosses
I'm so glad this video came so soon. I love this game!
Here's my personal ranking:
9: Eveline
8:Momma Molded
7: Garage Jack
6: Mutated Jack
5: Mutated Lucas
4: Mia
3: Swamp Jack
2: Mutated Marguerite
1: Chainsaw Jack
Don't know if anybody agrees, but this is my personal opinion
Let's go, DeMod is back!!!!!!
I loved every Jack fight. It was genius to have him keep his speech during the mutated fight.
love that you are doing the resident evil games
I didnt expect this so soon after last vid!
Re7 is my favourite re game. Creepy, atmosphere, intriguing and gross. Perfect horror game
The slasher style boss battles just fit resi 7 better than the classic boss battle against some giant monster.
the Mia fight was so good at showing you how EMOTINAL this game is gonna be like you travel through this swamp for a woman ethan has not seen in 3 years you find her and then she attacks you and Ethan really didn't want to hurt her, he did his best to defend himself without hurting her but when he was left no choice and that Axe slammed into her neck you could just FEEL the shock in ethan and when he tried to grab her but failed.... that hurt i had to stop playing cause i was crying so much maybe im too emotinal but that really hurt it really set the tone for how good this game is gonna be (im not very far I need to play more)
I loved the mutated Lucas fight, one of my favorite in the whole series, also you should play RE5 with a friend it's a great co-op game!!!
I finished this game a few days ago what a perfect time for this video to come out
Lol I had an entirely different garage Jack fight. So what happened was he got in the car before me but I kept dodging his attacks everytime and kept knifing him and eventually he just died lol and I didn't get a cutscene😕
My favorite bosses were in this game. Jack Baker was one of a kind!! Wishing he could have been in more games!!
It just looks weird that Ethan has a full hand
demod i lost your channel a while ago and i just found you again. i fucking love your content and please start uploading again
You should try darkest dungeon I think you will like it
Dmod come back :(
Bruh the garage fight is what got me hooked!
I didn't get in the car to fight jack either. Rather I found it incredibly easy to just circle around right next to him in the car slashing with the pocket knife.
Funny timing
I’m close to get the platinum and this pops
This is my first Ever RE and I extremely loved it
You should still play RE5 & 6 dude. Now that RE has gone back to its survival horror roots, I've found replaying 5 & 6 to be more fun as action games now that I don't have to wish for what once was anymore.
Regardless of the quality (I've not played them yet) I just don't like skipping over entries
When jack was doing donuts I just stayed right near to the spinning car running with it until he wiped out
I loved the Marguerite fight! The chainsaw fight with Jack was great too.
Always forget how this game was, one of the few games I platinumed
Mutated Marguerite is my favourite boss fight and also, one of the most challenging, like yeah, mutated jack is hard but he is only hard because you NEED to hit his weak points to win, with Marguerite she has only one weak point and also she is fast and has her bugs backing her up.
*car starts* “better start running boy”
I thought it was hilarious the first time
This game had my favorite bosses in the series (haven't played village yet though)
I didn't even know margaret could spawn nests, I just ducked and waited for her to come for me, she is the most exploitable boss in the game IMO
Jack garage was peak gaming for me in term of comedy. Loved it
Lucas' puzzle room should have been an honourable mention at least.
It wasn't hard but just all round fun and creepy
He's on a roll
Keep it up, yo.
Jack dying to "dumb luck" is the point. This is a normal civilian up against a powerful bio-weapon monstrosity, it would be goofier for Ethan to beat him on his own so early
Straight to the good stuff I see.
This was my first Resident Evil game & I loved it.
Ninja Gaiden master collection is coming out June 10th you gotta do a ranking for all 3 games🙏🏾
Garage Jack is pretty easy to get around. You just have to stick right next to him. Figured it out pretty quickly
I liked all the bosses but the eve line is pretty much just a cut scene the most scary to me was the Margaret’s because I got paranoid of where she was gonna come from
The Baker DLC really makes me wish Capcom would make an entire game about survival and melee. Probably the best part of RE7.
