I didnt think she was gonna be able to finish the song with how overwhelmed with emotion she was, and I wouldn't have blamed her if she wasnt able to, but she SLAYED it! It was a stunning performance! I was crying the whole time. 🖤
This time, we need to be more careful and really listen to Demi. She released Sober as a yell for help, she was in danger and nobody listened to her. Now, as a community on this Earth, we need to stop being self-centered and actually practice compassion and taking care of one another. We need to be there for Demi when she's being vulnerable to us. We don't want to risk losing her again ❤️
What exactly should her fans have done. She was firing her team like she was Trump people can only do so much to help others. Wanting help and accepting help isn't always the same thing
Let's be honest, she has the money and the resources to get help, if she didn't get help it's because she didn't want to, you can't make a drug addict to go and recover if they don't want to
We all react in different ways to the pain and loneliness we have. She is an incredibly beautiful and talented women. I respect and admire her spirit. Always be kind to each other.we love you Demi.
Goon Tunes no way ? Doing drugs to make yourself feel better and numb is self centered no way ? Are you gonna tell me next that suicide is self centered and not for the greater good of your family and friends too ? OBVIOUSLY, people don’t usually do hardcore drugs to do anything but numb the pain or escape the pain . And yes that pain is in their head in their perception of yes themselves ... why make your comment , you really think anyone in the world is dumb enough to think she did heroin for any reason besides her own pain and mental struggles ... people don’t do these things in a right state of mind ..
"Nothing wrong with starting again and needing to take a slight breather" as beautiful a sentiment in singing as it is in our day to day lives. Bravo madam. Ps: I've been subscribed for almost a year and I'm still having a blast watching your channel
This was the emotional crescendo of an already turbulent emotional night... It is a tragedy that a voice as beautiful as that was almost silenced it shows how important it is to be there for somebody when they're reaching out because if you're not then there's nothing for them to hold onto.

But ive always wanted demi to be better for herself. I love how real and raw she is when it comes to opening up. Sometimes you get this feeling of shame and hurt and you go back up, not knowing that there will be some downfalls waiting for you. I love demi for not stoping to try to get help and realize that life will always have its down even when you're on top of the world. But you just gotta stay strong 💕
Spot on analysis. Shooo. Brought me back to Kelly Clarkson’s piano only Piece By Piece. Good for you, Demi. Perfect is great, but emotion MOVES people.
Shawn Garcia Agreed! That was my point... You can have perfect, flawless performances, but emotion, vulnerability is what MOVES people. Moves others to empathy, to change, a multitude of different things.
I remember that performance on American Idol, it was amazing. Also reminds me of Salena Gomez performing the heart wants what it wants. A perfect performance is good and fun but its the emotional ones I always remember.
First time I've gotten through watching this performance without crying. Demi's emotion here shows that she keeps it 100% I think this performance woke up a lot of people that were sleeping on both her talent and the reality of how dangerous drugs can be. Life is worth living. Above all, love yourself. If you don't love yourself now, you can always set goals towards self improvement. Everyone struggles with something, whether physically, mentally or emotionally. Athletes do not become gold medalists by sitting on their butts and doing nothing. Find what motivates you and cling to the hope that tomorrow is worth another try.
What this song means to her, plus the emotional day of losing our American treasure, Kobe Bryant, must’ve been extremely hard on her. I’ve never been a Demi fan, but this was so beautiful, touching and gave me goose bumps ❤️
I'm not really a fan, but her songs about her journey make me cry every time. Skyscraper, Warrior, sober, this one... You can hear her breathing out her pain every time she sings.

I was already so emotional because of Kobe and her daughter's death then I watched Demi and now I am a crying mess. I love how vunerable she is, she is so brave to open up and share her story. Everyone keeps talking about Kobe and his daughter, what about the other people that died in the crash? I feel so bad for their families- they’re overshadowed and it’s heartbreaking.
Everyone that posted online also mentioned the other passengers. Theyre names werent releaeed but maybe one other. His daughter wasn't even mentioned at first bc no one knew who was on the plane. It was known that Kobe was on the plane first, do a lot of celebs had to post another post and add her. I remeber think man this will hit Gigi the hardest bc she is so close to her dad. She was always a daddy's girl, he was always carrying her even as a baby. So to hears she was in the crash too uggh. I have a daughter it hurts. There was another parnet and basketball teen in the crash , but no one is saying their names. It is just wo sad all around. You can't be mad that everyone is talking about Kobe and his daughter. They passed away.
It's difficult to talk about cuz nobody knows them...they weren't public figures...all we kno is that they were coaches and their children died as well which is awful but after that gets mentioned there's nothing else to say without more info...Kobe impacted millions of regular peoples lives through sport and spent his entire career in one place...We watched him grow from a teenager to one of the greatest (top 3) basketball players in history...We saw him start a family and watched them grow as we did...Many of us feel like we grew up with him and he was always there improving through good and bad times but never left us for a winning team like other players do...then his daughter Gigi started following in his footsteps showing signs of greatness like we saw in Kobe and people were saying he needed a boy...but Gigi said no I got this with that same determination and confidence Kobe showed...and now they're gone forever... and we all know Kobe's beautiful wife and three daughters are home knowing Kobe and Gigi are never coming home...it's so sad cuz we kno so much but they have to actually live through every moment of pain and suffering...Hope that gives an idea of why people keep overshadowing

Demi is the one artist in our generation that shows sooo much emotion in her music. She always makes me feel what she is feeling whenever she sings. Powerful
First of all it was pretty thoughtful and genuine of this coach to acknowledge Kobe, an incredible loss in the sports/entertainment industry before proceeding to talk about another living and remarkable talent. That said, this is my first time watching this coach's review; but I am just as moved by her true and vulnerable reaction to Demi's performance as to the performance itself. @@Spaceysgurl you know what i meant...
dont act dumb smh...
This performance caught me off guard as an addict myself. My doc was different then hers but addiction is addiction. Clean over 8 months.
Edit: unfortunately relapsed in July. Hit another bottom. Clean 6 weeks today. Moving forward again.
taekwandokid89 Keep going! Support you
@@mattd9274 thank you 🙂
Congratulations!!
That's amazing! You nice, keep going
Yessss go you!!!! Keep going because your life matters!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Demi is incredible! She sang so we'll! She started again, took a moment and sang her heart out. She will have an amazing year!
Yeah
Yes ofc she deserve it
Roni P She was soo good I related to this song so much. BTW are you a Tae fan?
She wrote it 4 days before she almost died of an overdose, not 4 days before going into rehab. ❤️❤️
This song makes me think she was attempting suicide
HowToBambi you know I had the same thought too, if you put this after sober it really does paint that picture:(
HowToBambi I think she did truly we don’t know
I didnt think she was gonna be able to finish the song with how overwhelmed with emotion she was, and I wouldn't have blamed her if she wasnt able to, but she SLAYED it!
Let's be honest, she has the money and the resources to get help, if she didn't get help it's because she didn't want to, you can't make a drug addict to go and recover if they don't want to
Sounds melodramatic and codependent.
A naked, vulnerable cry begging to know she's loved as a person and not just as an image or object.
Absolutely stirring.
I cry every time I see this performance from Demi, seeing her emotion and knowing what all she went through.
What happened on her pls tell me,I love her so much
@@gedasami5733 She almost died from a drug overdoes. She had wrote this song and I think even recorded it. To me it was a cry for help but no one was listening. That is what she is saying in the song. I am not sure how many days after she recorded it she overdosed.
@@chantellecline6945 ok,tnx
I'm not sober anymore is about herself mean. I'm sorry for her she lost her friends and her favorite people in her life 🥺, life was so hard for her💔
This woman is incredible. She rose like a phoenix from the ashes of her past, ready to start a new chapter! She has all the respect for being so raw and true. Love her so much! And I am beyond proud!🥺❤️
I remember crying when I first heard this. She has such emotion and the song is so relatable to people. I think people communicate through music and I wish I had this song when I was younger because I truly connected with her and I felt the same years ago. I am so proud of her. Can’t imagine how difficult it must have been, to be alone.
It was 4 days before she overdosed not before she went to rehab.
And it was recorded not written
cellogirl20 Oh ok. Regardless it’s such a powerful and beautiful song.
Oh yeah absolutely! The actual single wasnt rerecorded like intended but they kept the pre OD take which had greater emotional depth
cellogirl20 Wow. The lyrics are so powerful and so heartbreaking. I’m so glad she survived. I hope she has realized since her recovery how much she is loved. Such a beautiful talent that needs to shine bright until she dies of old age ❤️
cellogirl20 I’m crying even more now
Woahhhh never heard her sing like that, the falsetto didn’t go unnoticed and oh god- the MIXED belts all while under a blanket of such heavy emotion. What a special performance✨
Falsetto?
Tarleda Manley In the beginning, maybe it’s head voice
I feel like she sang it way better live than the recorded . She released so much in her voice and it was so powerful !!!
I am so incredibly proud of our demi, she has come such a long way and for her to be able to stand up there in front of everybody, her first performance in 2 years shows how brave, strong and beautiful she is. She is an angel, this song is gorgeous and filled with so much emotion and she looked stunning. I am glad you reacted to this and i cannot wait to see how far you both go in the future💜
Demon
some singers give you goosebumps and the rare singer does that and they bring tears to your eyes. Demi is one of those. Amazing and beautiful.
Ive been a lovatic since i knew camp rock. And as i grew up with her music and her struggle, i don't wish her more fame or awards anymore though it might be crucial for some artists.
Tudo sobre Fgts i love it too!
She did so well, i think the emotion of it came across so well. It moved everyone.
This performance was EVERYTHING to me...she is an AMAZING vocalist..always has been
I start crying every single time I hear this song. Demi is speaking the feelings of my 18 year old self. It was stunning!
Spot on analysis. Shooo. Brought me back to Kelly Clarkson’s piano only Piece By Piece. Good for you, Demi. Perfect is great, but emotion MOVES people.
Rebekah King Art doesn't have to be perfect, it's anything that moves people.
Thats exactly what I thought of!
She is one of the only singers who can make me cry and feel just heartbroken for her.
She's oustanding. Brilliant vocalist.
@Peter Nienow it turned out the chick lied so he just cheated not a rapist. Learn something.
Peter Nienow his daughter died as well 7 others so shut up
I love your words and reactions. Her emotion, her rawness is what gets me with Demi. I love her and love your recognize all the emotion
The lyrics made me hurt so bad for her she is 1 of the best vocalists of our time. You can feel her heart and soul threw every word! Her pain is coming threw in everyway! I adore this woman she is absolutely inspiring and such a beautiful soul. Im glad yur doin better girl. Yu are a warrior a true inspiration for people with depression. 💜 yu demi!
I'm SOOOOO proud of her! I know this was hard for her. She did amazing. I cried my eyes out. Way to go Demi!!
This is the 3rd times i watch this performance and i still got that chill.
I can’t believe she’s able to control her vocals so well when she’s clearly overflowing with emotion. As someone who’s struggling with addiction I have so much understanding how heartbreaking yet cathartic this moment would be for her.
I love, Demi. I was in tears immediately. I was right there with you and her. Watching it live was very hard. Cried then too. Anyway, she has come so far and I think we are all rooting for her to stay clean and, Demi, WE ARE ALL LISTENING. Great react, love. Muwhaa!
Ahhh hugs all around xx
Clean/dirty is words that lead to a stigma of shame of addiction. Let's say sober.
I'm 14 and grew up on Demi. i'm so proud of her. I'm so glad i've had her as a role model for so long. She's a fighter and she's taught me so much about life. I saw this and started sobbing. She deserves so much in life. She's taught generations to keep pushing and we can get through anything.
I was already so emotional because of Kobe and her daughter's death then I watched Demi and now I am a crying mess. I love how vunerable she is, she is so brave to open up and share her story. This just goes to show that no matter what status you have in life you go through same pain and struggles like everyone. Artist are humans too. Thank you for this 💗
I have the utmost respect for Demi. She is a fighter and there is much she needs to share with the world. First and foremost, she needs healing. She is such a beautiful soul and I pray her heart sustains loving health as her beautiful and gifted soul shines on and sings on!!!
Thank you for always being the wonderful vocal coach that you are. I haven’t been following you for very long, but when one of your videos found it’s way onto my view list, I thought, she has a nice smile, so I watched. I’ve been hooked ever since. You are bright, funny, adorable, kind, attentive, compassionate, understanding, beautiful, and so willing to share such treasured tidbits of advice with your viewers. You are absolutely wonderful and I’m glad our paths have crossed in RUclips country.
I was about to message you to react to this!! So glad you have, she is sooo raw and real here... think about how vocal performances are so overproduced and rehearsed to death they don't mean anything.... how brave of her to sing this live and basically acapella after all she's been through... she gave everything here. I found it hard to hold back tears as well with the belting part! Thank you for watching this ♡
I cried
I come back & watch this video ALL THE TIME. Whenever I NEED IT…this video always helps. THANK YOU 🙏🏼
Just important to note. She recorded this song 4 days before her overdose. It's her cry for help...
Roi Aknin And she was right no one was listening
I’m really confused , y was this so sad , what do you mean overdose , plz someone tell me ASAP
@@gabejonessinging2691 She's an addict and was sober for 6 years, until she fell back to it for a while and overdosed about a year and a half ago. It almost cost her life. She's clean again now.
This song was written and recorded shortly before her od.
Yes she "wrote" this song a few days prior to her overdose but after that she stayed sober and when the Grammy can around she was ready and felt healthy and well enough to get up and perform the song she had written. Alot of ppl are getting confused an thinking that she relapsed and overdosed 4 days after performing this song or that she had overdosed just 4 days before performing this song. Neither are true. Just wanted to help clarify 😊
I am in LOVE with this WOMAN's(Rebecca) HUMANITY. I love she is moved to tears sometimes with just the sound of music. Empathy is a gift from God. Thank you for your presence in this crazy world:-)
Thank you kindly
Agree, RIP Kobe & Gianna Bryant 💔 Demi had me in tears from the very start, and despite her restart, l thought she sounded beautiful... vulnerable, honest and yet amazingly strong because it was absolutely 'real' for her.
I need to go to her concert...if she ever makes a tour.....I missed her so much....
She is mindblowing in her live show.
Wow. I don't listen to Demi just because it's not my type of music, but I respect her ability. This song had me holding back tears. So good.
I can finally watch this and not cry until the last "I feel stupid when I sing." There goes the buildup.
p.s. I love the way you move your hands when she's hitting some notes. I do the same thing when listening to music.
Let's hope her struggles and this song touch others that have similar issues and can help them get through it as well. What a touching performance.
She's in part helping me cope. 💕
This performance is inspirational! I am so moved by her and this performance! Her gift isn’t just about her talent! Her gift is also showing people you can start again! I am moved!!!!
I cried uncontrollably watching her preform. Wow, that song is so heartbreaking. I’m so glad she’s not where she used to be!
I can’t believe I missed this reaction. I love how connected you get and again, “I don’t care if it’s pitchy” shows you care about it all. In Demi’s SNL performance of Stone Cold, she cracks on the higher notes and I loved it.
Thank you for doing you.
this killed me!!! we are listening to you Demi and I heard you loud and clear!!! Love and respect.
It makes me mad because this was recorded right before her overdose. The number of people who heard this song before this and didn’t say anything or do anything
Technically Taylor so true. It would have literally gotten my attention the DAY she recorded this.
She is so strong and so good at coming back better and stronger she has such a beautiful soul bless her ❤️🕊
this was a HUGE performance. Devi Lovato raised my personal rank of best singer to top 3 at least.
when you have the power to bring people too tears, you truly have the gift from god.demi we are so glad you are sober.
To be able to sing like that when you're crying is amazing. She's so amazing, can't listen to this without crying😢❤️
It's not just singing, it's crying for help !
Sending love to you Rebecca! I went searching for Demi's performance and found your vid, So great to see your face! x
she is truly one of a kind !!! she ATE that stage !! wishing her all the amazing things for her comeback! what a queen
Very emotional to listen to her beautiful voice!!
Demi is one of my favorite Artist so insane how you could feel her pain... she made me cry like a baby
She is such an incredible vocalist and person.... the way she did her comeback is absolutely beautiful, it’s amazing how she puts all those emotions in this
First video I have watched of yours....I so appreciate your emotion with the breakdown of the vocals....I am crying like a baby over here.... She is so stunning to listen to....
Welcome to the fam.
She is singing this in a room full of people who weren’t listening to her when she was on drugs again, she’s INCREDIBLE. Unbelievable vocals. What a powerhouse. I’m so glad she’s still with us.
Ok....who’s cutting onions 🧅 in here ! Love Demi L singing 🎤 whoo!
When she gives herself to her music she becomes a beast, vulnerable and powerful.
I was fine until the very end when she said "I feel stupid when I sing" for the last time and you quietly said "no don't". Then I lost it.
My boyfriend overdosed a couple years ago and that was one of the most difficult things. I could not imagine having to live through that in the public eye. She is so strong, and I was SOBBING while watching this. I love her so much ❤️
Bravo to her for being so raw and baring it all to save so many people. The voice of our generation!
One of the best vocal coaches that react to music who actually know what they're talking about for a change. RESPECT. Demi's performance was one of the best live performances i have seen in a while
Listen to Kelly Clarkston coming back to American Idol for a reunion and her performance is legendary that she kept it together. Demi also has that talent that is rare to see.

I can't stop watching her Grammy performance, I cry every time. I think she sounds better than ever!!! So much emotion!!!
Why did this song make me cry so much 😭 so much emotion and some of us can relate so much. Love you Demi.
I cry every time I see this...I can relate so much, I’ve been clean now for 9 years and will never go back. She’s an absolute queen.
Never been more proud of a celebrity! Demi Is So Inspiring and has helped so many people though her own struggles This performance was breathtaking!
The amount of courage she has, inspires me to do better in life and fight back no matter how many times i may fall...this song is relatable at so many levels..i pray and hope that she gets a better life soon..
I watched it live last night as she performed in the Staples Center where Kobie Bryant played his entire career. So much respect for her and her journey! Amazing standing ovation at the end. It was an emotional night. Alicia Keys did a fantastic job hosting!
Deborah Enloe rip kobe
demi has such an amazing voice. i love her so much and i have been replaying her performance over and over again since sunday.
Sad that he was lost, sad for the rape victims that got no justice.
Julio Ramirez stfu you don’t know what ur talking about a great man who inspired millions just died with his 13 year old daughter
Julio Ramirez sad for the man who was falsely accused of rape well the victim had sex with 2 other men that same night .. DNA cleared Kobe .. only thing he was guilty of was cheating on his wife know your facts before you open your moth
I am always in awe of any artist who creates and belts out such high quality material and will have do such performance repeatedly during promotions. That is just the power of vocals and talent.
Yea agree really thoughtful about Kobe 🙏 well said
This is a beautiful song. I balled crying while watching. She did an incredible job!
