    I think the line “I feel stupid when I sing, nobody’s listening to me” refers to her previous song she released called “Sober” which was a cry for help but no one seemed to reach out/care which led her to write this song and again no one SEEMED to care.

    So basically what happened, is that she wrote this song right before her od, literally asking for someone to help her, and nobody from her old team really gave a shit so she ended up having the od. This song was a cry for help and this was the first time anyone heard it since it was released like 20 mins before the performance. It explains her state of mind and how she was feeling before she did what she did. She felt alone, helpless and sad and that's why this is such an important song for her. If she didn't make it through that, this would have been her last song

      vaggelis toubos Her old team did give a shit and were the ones who forced her to get help the first few times. They had a verbal agreement that if she ever fell back into her addiction they were dropping her as a client.. Demi relapsed and they stayed true to their word and left. She felt alone and abandoned by many people not just her management. She spiraled even more and searched to fill a void in her that’s been there long before she had a career in entertainment. She got in contact with the same old wrong people again and they provided her the drugs she overdosed on. A whole mess that she still has not spoken about and eventually will..

      @@okayfloatstudios3097 you said it yourself, instead of actually caring, all her team did is threaten her that they would drop her if she relapsed. And how is that any helpful?? And after she relapsed they went sike, not my problem anymore.

    • @okayfloatstudios3097
      @okayfloatstudios3097 4 года назад +4

      vaggelis toubos Nah bruh. They’ve done everything they can. They’ve sweet talked her, coddled her, even enabled her for a while trying to do reverse psychology on her ass and nothing worked until they threatened to drop her in 2010. That’s what snapped her out of it the first time and she realized everything she’s worked for could be gone in second all because of this disease of hers she’s allowed consume her life. She entered rehab and fought to suppress it ever since but she’s relapsed a few times. It’s a constant roller coaster with her and people have their limits. Quite honestly this is a business. I’m surprised they’ve stayed with her this long.. These people are not her family, she is not their responsibility to look after health wise. They’re all there to work and make money and if she’s not available and being irresponsible of course they would drop her. Any where you work that’s the kind of reaction you will receive. Do not feel any type of way towards her old management for basically firing her as their client. Demi knows she was in the wrong and it is what it is.

    • @darkseaofempathy
      @darkseaofempathy 4 года назад +4

      @@okayfloatstudios3097 I completely agree with you. You tell the hard truth most fans of Lovato's don't want to hear. While I certainly am sympathetic to her problems, and bet she came across a lot of terrible people who used her like anyone who works in Hollywood does, but at the end of the day her sobriety is her responsibility and no one else's. It's the reason for her latest relapse; she clung to her relationship and management team to keep her sober, and when both fell through, she relapsed. The only thing that will save her is realizing no one keeps you sober. You do it yourself, or you don't. It's not fair to make anyone carry that weight for you.

This was a cry for help and them four days later she overdosed. This song tells how i feel everyday except the parts od singing, the piano, and guitar so for me they are different things. I love Demi and i wish that i could write her and let her know that im right there with her and going through some of the same things and be a friend that she needs because i have no one either and i sure as hell dont have anyone who listens. I love you Demi, you are such an inspiration to me and you are so strong and beautiful inside and out and please dont ever change.

    I think it hits even a bit stronger or at least very different when someone who has millions of fans, millions of dollars, a successful music career, good looks and people that look up to them says: Nobody is listening. Nobody is here. Please, send me anyone. It really shows again how all of this doesn't make you happy just because it "should be". She is not alone. But she was, and probably is still, very, very lonely. Like Robin Williams said, you are surrounded by people but at the same time that's when you feel the most lonely and unseen. Cause people think they know you. You don't know who really likes you for you, cause fans don't know what you are like in person, what you really do behind closed doors. When it comes to friends and family, people being really close to you, you can be surrounded by fucking millions. But it will always be most important who really IS there when you aren't your cutest, when you really need arms to hold you, not because they adore you, but because they know, understand and truly, deeply care for you. Nobody can have millions of friends. Damn, I would even say if we all are honest we can be truly happy if we have one or two friends that really are the real deal behind the curtains. My mother always says there are different kind of friends and you need different people to do different stuff with. Some are good for partying, some are good for learning or talking. You got your gym pal or your colleague. Maybe you got a cute starbucks barista you always flirt with and get free coffee and a good smalltalk from. All of these people mean well and some of them are really good for your body and soul. But when it comes to deep shit... To all of you combined, not just a few perspectives... It's hard to count who's with you there.

    Demi recorded this song 4 days before her overdose. She almost died 😭 To me this song was her cry for help during that time. I love Demi Lovato and I'm so proud of the courage and strength that she has shown throughout her struggles. We have seen her fall 2-3 times now, but always she gets back up like the Warrior that she is and continues to fight. Her true fans continue to stand beside her because she is very transparent about what she has gone through and continues to go through. Demi is a star, but she's shown us that she is vulnerable and makes mistakes just like everyone else. Being a celebrity and having wealth doesn't necessarily mean that you are happy and content in your life. I imagine that Demi feels very lonely a lot of times. It sucks not knowing if someone is being a true friend to you or just hanging around for the clout. Sorry for the long comment. I just really love Demi and I want her to be in a good space right now and always ❤️ Great reaction guys 😉

    You made a good point about her "smiling through the pain" and how this is almost like a fake smile, cause it's so obvious that the pain is there, but she's smiling at the end. That smile was prettry genuine I think. She must have felt relieved getting though a song that really revealed her vulnerabibity in front of all her peers. Maybe she really feels heard in the moment and feels the love and sympathy of the people in the audience.

    A few weeks before overdosing she released a song called "sober" about not being sober anymore & she released that while on her Europe tour. Her & her old team kinda had an agreement if she went back to her old ways again after being through it with her they wouldn't be with her. Sadly when family and friends just go through addiction & you go through it & it's not the best on your mental health either so I get why because I've had that happen in my family.
    Then 4 days before overdosing she recorded this. Guess the other song writers or song producer/s or her team at that time didn't think anything was wrong. Pretty sure her manager had left before it anyway & so did her sober coach because they had put up with it for years.
    This was her first kinda public appearance & first performance since the overdose.
    I know she was hanging out with people she shouldn't have been so hopefully her family/team/friends let her know when she's not being her best for her sobriety.
    I've been a fan since 08 so I hope she finds happiness & stays sober.

    Hey guys. Thanks for highlighting this incredible performance, I believe that it helps to highlight the fact that struggles with addiction can affect anyone. As a recovering alcoholic (over 9 years sober) this song is so relatable. It reminds of the dark days of my addiction when I felt so lonely but couldn’t stop drinking and people were simply bored of me and my tears. I was broken. I believe that the line Demi sings “I feel stupid when I pray” relates to having to get on your knees and pray to a higher power. It’s something people in recovery who work a 12 step programme should do. It can feel so uncomfortable and stupid at first but personally it’s something that I had to learn to do in order to stay sober. Love from the UK. 🌈☺️

    Thank you both for the reaction video. It was a powerful performance that night which is no surprise as she always has been a powerful singer. Regardless of when she wrote and recorded the song the message is we can feel totally alone at some point in our lives...it is part of being a human being. I have been there to lowest of lows...but I went and got help I did not wait for it to come to me...I know others care about me...BUT #1 person who will care about me, listen to me, support me and help me is.......ME
    Checking out or drinking or using drugs or whatever the thing is to not help yourself is all to cover up tough truths about ourselves we don't want to face.
    I took back fear's power...got medical help with checking hormone levels, make sure I took medicine I was supposed to..sleep good and eat good. I started EMDR therapy which is no drugs and works so well.

    *I struggle with depression and anxiety so bad I barely leave the house. The lyrics about “please sent me ANYONE” or how she says about what’s the point in praying (I’m not religious due to having a tough life. 36 operations.) etc is exactly how I feel in my darkest moments. Luckily I’m doing a bit better at the moment.*

    I think she was smiling because she made it through "the shit"..the tear in the beginning was because of a horrible experience..my opinion

    She recorded this song 4 days before she overdosed. This is her first time singing publically since then 2 years ago she kept asking for help from so many people, her music team, family, therapists, God, no one really listened she said. They kept saying just get through it. Smh

    Soon after she wrote this song , she overdosed on heroin and this was the first time she was able to perform this . I hope you both actually listen to this whole song without speaking. It is profound and we all need to listen !

    She’s more than likely smiling because she got thru it after a false start and didn’t expect that reaction at the end. She looks grateful and a little embarrassed. She’s getting better everyday and in much better place now according to the interviews. When you write songs this deeply personal with nothing to hide behind and just you and a piano it’s hard not to live in that moment and not to choke up. She’s a very emotional woman in general and why her voice is so amazing.

    I really enjoyed your interpretation of the song. For me, I have followed Demi since her start. I feel like this song is more about how lonely she is. She did a documentary that came out just before her overdose as well and in that she talks about a break up and trying to learn to be happy alone and she really struggled with that. I think her loneliness was what triggered her to use again, write this song, and ultimately and unfortunately overdose. But this performance was her first live performance after the overdose as well and I think she was really nervous about how the world would perceive her and if they would welcome her back with open arms or not.

    She wrote the song 4 days before he overdose and then when she came to after the OD she said she would sing this song the first time she preformed again of she ever got that chance... So this is what she was feeling during her relapse and she wanted to let people in and feel a little and understand and relate to her struggle. This was her first performance since her OD almost 2 years ago. I cried like a baby watching her.. She really left her soul out there.

    I dont think she was fake smiling, she is at a better place now, she changed her manager and music team, she is working on her next album, she is singing the national anthem in the superBowl in a few days... it surely has been a rough 2 years but I think she feels strong enough to come back, but singing that song, singing for the first time at Grammys (her own song and not a tribute), she clearly was emotional, thats what she started crying, but I think she is better, I hope she is better.

    She wrote this song just a couple of days before her near fatal overdose. They basically had to revive her with Narcan.
