HP 12 is base coat and it’s better to use a bar than a scratcher
Hello!! do you need to leave airvent gap before put the cement board on timber frame? Thank you
British homes would be nicer will full render. Enough bricks !
Give the landscape some colors. no more red and grey :)
What like Scotland, all you see is pebble dash or white render.
My house is white
Not suppose to use the k1 krend scrape back system. On that board 😫
Thin coat system.
Hp12 base float up, prime and use TC15 acrylic
Cheers lee
Nice job Stu. I have never used K-rend and was surprised when you said it was breathable, seeing as the set is caused by the added cement it can't be all that breathable because of the cement. I really like the metal scratch float, I use them a lot they leave a nice finish and are also good at keying up undercoats and flattening area's, taking off the high spots and snots etc too.
All the best.
The big trowel will wreck your Elbow and Shoulder tendons in time! Done 37 yrs as a spread and tried the bigger trowels; You gain nothing! Work harder and much easier with a standard trowel! IMO
Do you prefer 13 or 14” laying on trowel?
In the country I'm in, you normally do the basecoat with a cement-based adhesive (like tile adhesive) which costs less than 5 euros a bag. Then the top coat is done with a coloured silicone render, which you can also get premixed (which can cost 50 euros for a 25kg tub).
Thanks for that info 👍🏾. Can you tell me what the climate is like where you're from? Are the winters very harsh and summers hot or is it pretty much temperate like the UK?
We also have that in the UK and should have been used in this case over cement board
Why didn't you scratch the base coat to form a key for the top coat?
It'll pull the scrim sheet out the basecoat.
@@Zephieish no it dont :P
Horrible appearance.
Hi Stu.. Just out of curiosity how does it cost per sq meter to have K Rend applied to an outside wall. Thanks in advance !!
Nice job but why dont you use a H rule.. to rule off? It lets the air in and is very accurate in getting the surface level and true. You use a H rule when it is dry just before you scratch it. Youll notice it when the sunlight hits it. To many people use the specialized renders but dont rule off to specification. Refere to the manufacture.

@@letajte you mean i bar?
Good work. I am also an expert. This work. Would you help me to work with you? This is the magazine. I have news. This is for sure. I will not disappoint you. Thank you.
what about the edge bit were you showed the render board does it get covered? great tidy job by the way
yeah sorry we cover that with a pvc trim
stu crompton ah ok was just wondering, I'd give that a crack meself fairly diy able would ya say?
Should always work from op down mate, shouldn’t be on that flat roof working off a ladder really dangerous stu, you’d be thrown off site you tried that capper, you alway do a great job tho✌️✌️👍👍👍
Noted pal this way a few years ago now 👍
What ever happened to the young Thai lad you had working with ya dude? Been a fair old while since I caught up on some of your vids
Another fantastic video stu.well done to u and KC and I really enjoy watching them 😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻
K-rend dont recommend scratch finish on carrier board!…
Hp12 mesh and a tc15 top coat
Another really good video for novices like me! Quick question, did you apply any mesh under the base coat or just after it was applied? I'm looking to build a garden wall in block then k-rend it, finish it with some slate grey coping stones and pier caps. Thanks for the channel, proving really useful for me!
after base coat mate just push it in with the trowel
Belting work that mate. How is this render different to normal sand + cement?
its a better quality material harpreet, its breathable and silicone based so resistant to water. you pay for what you get :) thanks for watching mate
All the new builds have this K rend, and they're already looking awful with red streaking going all the way down the house.
Local cleaning companies are taking it in now, as normal pressure washing will damage it.
@@Stucrompton1
I wouldn't say it's better,looks good for a couple of years.
One question, why do you scratch the top coat?? Great job btw 👍👍
When k rendering on a cement board with timber frame, should only be using TC 15 which is a thin coat render system.
Thank you for that Paul we just gave it a go and it still looks as good today as when we did it customer is absolutely made up so it’s just one of those but thank you for that information appreciate it👍
Paul can you scratch TC15?
acompanhado. ..seu canal..
o forte abraço do canal Miro starsuper mão na obrobra....brazil
Good video thanks. I think a bit of scaffold/leading edge protection would also be a good idea.
Hello mate, very nice job!! I’m about to do exactly the same thing, a couple of questions..is that just the standard base coat or do you need to get a colour coordinated base? Also will I need to prime the render board or base coat?? Would really appreciate your help!
tidy job mate enjoying the jobsite videos
cheers killian
what is the price of work per m²
Nice job dad well done
Mad how much it made the house look so different the house looked tired before it was done mint job boys
Thumbs up for the Leeds badge ! MoT
Stu, where did you go
There’s more lines in than my Nan has rinkles
You need get her some cream for Christmas then
Buy you're nan some cream and yourself and dictionary. It is wrinkles not rinkles
Lovely job lads.
👍
Where’s the scratch going threw the base coat ? Wouldn’t be surprised if the top coat shells .
Only thing is this system shouldn't be applied onto cement board like this. Its too heavy and will fail.
"Sweet job stu' or should I say ya' dad did..Haha..! Keep up the crackin' work.! 😉
thanks adam mate
Why would you mono on render board, surely it's for thin coat, do it in half the time
jobs a good un gary
Look at KC go! Not bad for an old bloke
Which k rend bags do you use , which type of bag do u have to use for the base, and which type of bag do u have to use for the top, as there is many types of k rend bags such as: k mix, standard uf base, hp h12 base, hpx base, and hp 14 base.
we use hpx 12 for mase anmd normal topcoat
hi guys how are you?
Good and beatiful job mr. Crompton.from Veracruz, México. You say helló your good old Worker. Good Man.👍😁😁😁
With that wall contains rockwool, should an air gap and breathable membrane been used before attaching the render board? Would have been worth replacing rockwool with kingspan to avoid any potential damp problems?
You can't apply Re der onto Rock wool. Nor should he heavy scratch re der such as this be applied to cement board like this. This job will fail and need redoing
Sorry, I ment kingspan not rockwool
How comes you didn’t scratch the base coat?
in such a small area theres no need, your going back over it too quick for it to make a difference
How much money did that job come to materials wise?
great job lads .
Pretty sure k rend was made for people that can’t render very well, though yours looked good
The top coat goes off quickly, so if you have large walls you need more than one man who knows what he's doing.
@@beatonthedonis one man can do 40m2 on his own if he knows the job 👍
Nice. The process looks similar to Tadelakt or Morroccan plaster. I'm guessing it's lime based if it's breathable?
Good job
Hiya Stu been watching your fantastic videos on here for a while now you make it look so easy thanks, I'm about to do an integral garage conversion have ordered the window, wondering if you have any vids I might have missed on that subject? Cheers Phil
Spot on job! Can't say have heard of K Rend. Is it an acrylic based render?
yes silicone based water resistant, thanks zed
U can cut pattern out of this
I made a breeze block dog kennel & make it look like small yellow bricks with this stuff k rend its all called sumtin else 2(4got tho)
Brilliant job these lads can do any Masters at work👏👏
Is K rend easier to use than sand and cement? Also can you get a perfectly flat finish with k rend, like you would sand and cement?
hi stu,,is everything fixed with stainless screws..
Top job mate , looks the nuts 👍🏻
Lovely stuff to work with krend..if the customer doesn’t mind putting their hand deep in their pocket haha
What stops the rain getting in the sides of the panel ? ...............I like that textured finish, as opposed to the way spreads used to go for a smooth finish in the past.
The rear of our house is k rendered, but we want to widen the existing French doors to bifolds. How tricky would it be to match the existing render for colour to hide the lintel and tidy the edges?
Me and my boss does something similar to k rend well sand cement first coat scratch then second with lime then use the float, as an apprentice I do ask tradesman what’s better to use but again it all depends I guess ??🤷🏽♂️
Sand and cement is good but use mesh in base coat👍
We have K Rend on the whole house. Exterior and also interior on the staircase walls (spiral stairs). It looks great.
nice
Excellent video and job mate. Thanks
Brilliant Vid. Great soundtrack also
Is the render board left exposed at the edge or did you protect it in some way? What is the normal, practice to prevent water ingress. Cheers good work. 👍
I use a lot of parex or webber. Krend is horrible to lay by hand
What the brand of the render board, not sure what to look for in the shops
Hi mate need some k rend doing asap Live near less
live near less?
Could you cover painted external walls in render board to render them?
do you need to seal the boards first ie pva.
no mate its special render board
How come you dident renderboard the edges and k rend them would look better?
Can you render straight on to brick
yeah spence as long as you prep right
@@Stucrompton1 what is the correct prep for brick and block please?
Just a quick 1 does the k rend protect the board from corotion?
thanks for video.....i want know is there's any difference between top coat & bottoms coat or both are same ...?
When you scratch it up do you need to splash water on it or not ? Cheers great video
U should be using cement based base coat
Gotta put scrach lines in the basecoat for top coat to key
The scratch float is literally a gusset plate that you see in roof trusses with a handle on it
Is there any external boards that can take old fashioned sand and cement render?
Need to use a primer before the base coat and mesh
Well stu have u tried terrix system
Why start at the bottom
Great video but what's the best type of board to use?
Hello :) Can you apply the k rend straight on to dense blocks.
That base is better that my finish🤣🤣
Great Video!!!! Really enjoyed it...
+Bricklane UEL cheers bricklane
+stu crompton nice job mate awesome 👍👍 are you trained in krend or self taught?
That was good but more explenation was needed if this is a how to- vid
Easy panel no angles
How much did u charge customers
Can this be used directly onto concrete block?
Fit plastics
Apply Base coat
Fit mesh
Apply top coat with desired colour
That's how it should be done, no board
Thank you for your information!
Not a clue
What does the mesh do? Make it more solid?
Mate, if attaching render board to a timber frame 8ft high by 19ft long would you stagger the joints or no need with this stuff?
Bertie Blue always stagger the joints if you can.
great video , spot on mate,, johnyboy
thanks pal
Thanks
Great job. what's thickness beading is best? I seen that there's is a different thicknesses?
Great little bit of work that....
Looks like I could use it on my dormers.
Well done
Can you krend straight onto a block wall and what's the best way to do it as this would be my first paid job
Thanks Stu ☺️
There’s lots of different methods better to contact k Rend technical help for your specific job and material it’s going on to.
Silly small wall
Nice job 👌
Nice work, sold! KRend it is!
Stonepack is also a good brand for this but it's gotta be done quick as it takes up a bit faster than the other brands
