As a former Saturn Ion owner, it's nice to know that the materials went to something just as loveably disgusting in the form of Kel Tec guns
Also a former Saturn owner. I think Kel-Tec should advertise their guns being made from ROP, Recycled Ocean Plastics. I like my Sub2K & my CMR.
@@66block84 how is the cmr? Is it unreliable as people say it is?
@@FFAMINE748 The PMR I also own & there have been times when it ran flawless & times when it would not feed at all, until the first 10 or 15 rounds had been fired. The CMR is far more reliable, but it does have the same failure to feed on occasion. It looks like MCarbo has the parts to fix them both, I just have not ordered them yet.
@Joshua My friend owned one, and it had reliability issues on every mag and ammunition type he had. And to top off both his and my poor opinion of the gun, when he handed it to me to shoot, it exploded and shot shrapnel into my forearm. He then proceeded to huck it down range and ran it over with his truck.

I remember Betty White in the movie “Double Rain” with that double barrel 12 ga. A great loss for us all in 2021, respect Betty and to all your care for dogs.
Wtf, she died? That’s crazy, I just saw a news piece like 2 days ago that she was about to air a 100th birthday special. What a shame she didn’t get to see it, especially on New Year’s Eve.
Don't you mean hard rain with Christian slater and Morgan Freeman?
@@franciscofranco5739 It's unfortunately true... 😥
@@TTTac ya, sorry my mistake.
I'm be honest, I can't really have an emotional connection with actors. My sympathies for their families.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1,000x, Kel-Tec is the most innovative company in the gundustry, but it’s quality control and parts are sub-par…
Could you imagine what they could achieve with a full bore production company behind them? I get it, but it would be interesting to see. Plus prices would go down even further.
@@zendell37 full bore production would crush innovation. It's easy to try new shit when tooling up for it isn't betting the life of your company
Still, it would be nice to see KelTec partner up with a company who knows how to manufacture firearms.
@@michaelblacktree you mean partner with a company that actually uses quality materials instead of injection molding and casting all their firearms?
I love how Ruger stoke the LCP from KelTec and still gets credit for innovating it into a double stack.

Truly sad that cowards and posers like to make fun of anyone and everyone who doesn't share our opinions.
My top 5 guns this year, are the used guns that I bought from neighbors, who are either too old to shoot any more, or don't want to pay for the ammunition to feed them.
I’ll drink to that.
Also, the pandemic buyers who are selling their Glocks for something else, mostly with a frame safety.

LCP MAX in 22lr with 22 round capacity for "2022"
Goddamnit James
As a pleasantly surprised LCP Max owner (who loves the fact that it can be stowed in the chest pocket of my jacket), I really appreciate the recognition given to Ruger, who actually seemed to listen to their consumers.
I agree with the LCP Max. Once I get enough ammo to put some break-in rounds downrange, I'll be replacing my P3AT. Ruger hit it out of the park with the LCP Max.
Same here. For me, size and weight are tied with reliability as my top priorities for EDC. If it won't fit in my pocket, I know I won't carry every single day. I prefer to wait for the LCP Max prices to fall a little or for my P3AT to break, whichever comes first.
I LOVE MY MAX. 11 whole ass rounds in my basketball shorts pocket while i grab food lol.
My wife got one. Between us we have ran around 250 rounds through it. First 50 had a few double feeds for some reason using ball ammo. After that it has ran flawless. Have ran a few hollow points also with no problem.
The LCP MAX was precisely what my wife had been asking for since she started carrying her purple LCP. _More capacity and bigger grip!_
She fondly named her standard LCP "Poppy" as we tend to bestow a name upon the firearms we continually carry. Being that we live in Arizona and frequent Prescott, it does not surprise me that Ruger was listening to their customers, especially around J&G Sales. You will be hard pressed to find someone in Prescott that doesn't work for Ruger or at least know someone that works for Ruger. Word of mouth travels far in a small town like Prescott, Arizona.
When she heard about the LCP MAX she was ecstatic to say the least. In fact she already has a named picked out for her if she truly likes it. Only recently has she entertained the idea of a red dot on a carry pistol so now she wants to try the MAX-9 too. Although, she questions whether it [MAX-9] would be concealable on her petite frame. Hence her love of .380's for their overall smaller size.
Cheers to Ruger for hitting a couple of homeruns!
Stay classy my friends.
Agree. I had the same thought as James about another manufacturer making a double stack .380. My bet is we'll see an M&P Bodyguard Plus soon.
With that teaser i really expected to see the Laugo Arms Alien on top.
Sure the H&K P7 had a gas piston before it, and the ergonomics resemble a CZ 75, but that thing is actually innovative. Crazy expensive, but they had actual R&D cost to recover.
To be fair, it technically released a few years ago iirc, just not state side.
I'm totally shocked that James didn't come up with a way to make number one be a glock something or other...
Totally expected a Glock on the list, someplace - even if just an honourable mention.
Isn't Glock working on a rifle? I hope it looks rediculous, I might love it.
I got the LCP Max the day after it was released. It is so awesome, very low recoil, shoots accurate, and has great sights. I carry mine with the 12 round mags. 760 rounds thru it with no problems.
Mine stings like a mother
I was fortunate enough to welcome two new daughters to this world at the end of 2020 and end of 2021, and your channel is what got me through the (still occurring) sleepless nights and hard days. The Sa35 totally flew under my radar. A new Hi Power for well under $900 is a steal even if it takes a few months to get the quality control into standards.
I couldn’t believe that Browning stopped making them. They could have just made a $1,100 MSRP and done runs of them occasionally and made good money.
Is it possible to move the magazine release in the SA35 to the right side? Im left handed.
Zastava has been killing it with their recent line of products. Loving my M70 sidefolder
I wish they would update their website though, it still doesn't display the side folder.
Zastava has been killing it for over a century. I have a lot of guns from them as old as 1924 and love them all.
So so so glad to see the .380 Max in the 1st slot! Fantasic gun, and while .380 may be considered underpowered, it will definitely get the job done. Happy New Year! 🥃
Thanks to TFB for getting us through ‘21. Happy New Year to all ya’ll !!
LCP MAX in 22lr with 22 round capacity for "2022"
I got the lcp max basically because of your review and I really wanted something that was very pocket concealable (not just fit into my pocket but was so big part of it is almost hanging out. The lcp max is my favorite gun to carry… not my favorite gun. But it is so freaking easy to carry…
I agree with your pick for #1.
I bought one a couple months ago and I LOVE it.
My philosophy is:
"The gun you have with you is better than that whole arsenal you left at home."
If a gun's too big to carry concealed, I won't have it with me at that ONE time in my life that I NEEDED it.
“Full bush was in” 😂😂😂

You did a great job on this video!! The effort you put into it is appreciated. The video was entertaining and very informative. Thanks, and Happy New Year!
LCP Max definitely deserves the spot. Only micro gun that’s constantly sold out I have noticed.
How do you think it compares to the p238?
I checked my nearby gun stores weekly for 2 months, until i finally found one, on sale luckily. Picked it it up same day. Also grabbed a 12 round mag and the Talon Pro grips.
@@skippyflapper I had been checking local places since it came out. Only found one a week before Christmas after going to two academy’s
@@swingsetmafia they are just two very different guns. P238 is small but very heavy for what it is. LCP max is light, small ( but not as small as the original LCP or LCP2) and has a lot of rounds. Trigger is definitely heavy but not bad. P238 will definitely feel less snappy because of weight and have a better trigger.
Putting the Hi-Point C9 in the thumbnail is a prime-grade meme at this point

Great top choice! 💯I own the LCP Max and I really love it. I bought three larger capacity magazines, and they work great to slightly extend the grip and add two more rounds. It fits in my pocket (I'm a shorts guy living on the gulf coast) and using ARX ammo it's much lighter than my Sig P365 (my winter gun). Thanks for the great videos. Keep up the good work!
Rocking that tux my man. Cheers.

Funny i carry my lcp more then my shield or a few other's.. Cuz it's in a pocket sticky holster and i can just grab it walking out door.. Don't have to dress around it.. And even a few shoots of 380 going to stop a threat
James and TFB TV… You Won 2021
Just after the seven minute mark: "...and full bush was in." Finished a short bark of laughter, stopped what I was working on, and made time to hit the like button. Great review as always.
To be honest those out there that believe you should never carry anything chambered in 380 or below are over analyzing the situation of day to day...
Especially now that there are modern .380 defense loads that easily pass the FBI penetration test
one of the few vblogs that I watch the entire videos... well done!
James. And everybody else at TFB. Thank you. Really. You all are in my top 3 favorites on youtube. Quality content for a low low price. Love you guys and happy new year. 👍
In the summertime I love my LCP Max. I usually carry the 12 round magazine.
Now I want Hop's version of the list.
Now I want Hop.
You said pants pockets! This coming from the short shorts 80s guy! And full bush is back! Good review as always! Happy New year!
My top5. From your channel.
5. Beretta 1301.
4. Flux raider. I’ll buy one if they are ever in stock. Your video was first time I had heard of/considered it
3. Shield plus. I have been shooting idpa and uspsa with mine. I like it. Great trigger.
2. Arsenal. I’m an AR guy. But these look cool. Maybe if the stock market goes well I’ll get one!
1. M&p 10mm. Never wanted a 10mm pistol until I watched that review. Coupled with how much I like the shield plus. I want to try it. Now, if I could make the flux raider take the m&P 10mm. Would be a sweet set up.
Do you have any experience with the P365? I'm trying to decide between that and the Shield Plus. Seems like the Shield Plus has been amazing for you
@@JacksonWalter735 go to a gun store and handle both of them. The 365 is smaller, has smaller grips, easier to truly pocket carry, the shield plus IMO is the better gun, but it's a little bigger all around.
I'd honestly go with whichever one fits better in your hands. I really wanted to like the 365xl, it just doesn't fit me as well as other hand guns.
Happy New Year. Hoping 2022 doesn’t sucks
I'm happy to see a high capacity gun chambered in a cartridge older than .45 ACP got some due recognition!
The Ruger little 9 is one of my favorites because living in the tropics makes concealing a small revolver a trick unless you wear a coat. And nobody's wearing a coat around here in July. Thus, a micro handgun that dishes out .380 is a huge improvement over carrying a .22 rimfire, a 32 or a 25auto. The low price of entry is just a bonus.

No joke, I actually bought my 3rd LCP Max this morning. Gifted the first two to my brother and sister in law for easier concealed carry. @@PositiveManifestation-Love that would be cool!
Thank you James. I haven't even watched yet but im 100% serious when I say this video being posted is the only joyful thing I've had this holiday season. Thank you for giving me something to smile about.
Glad to do it, friend
Keltec P50 is my #1 without question. I love mine and im tired of hearing people complain about no stock/brace when I literally had my carbon fiber side folding brace that did not require any permanent modification to add day 1. Theres also a picitiny brace from another company that's a solid choice.
People love to bash Kel Tec, Hi-Point and Kimber for some reason. I have/had all of these brands and they work/worked fine.
#1 is an excellent choice. Over the years I have had female friends and family ask about a handgun for self defense. My first pick for them was a 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP) in a gun that didn't exist; the Ruger LCP Max is that pistol. The five shot 2" revolvers were always considered, but most of them barely hit the target at seven paces; developed an instant flinch from the recoil. I bought the Kel-Tec 3AT when it came out, but flinchitis and controllability was a challenge for them.
I was very surprised that there was a .380 on this list. I have a .380 Taurus which I inherited. I tried to trade it in on the last 2 new guns that I bought, but had no takers. My girlfriend wanted to buy herself a gun on a budget. I told her that she could have my .380 with 2 holsters and 6 extra mags, and 150 rounds of .380 acp. for free. Her relatives told her to get the biggest gun she could handle and she got a CZ75B. I can’t even give a .380 away…..LOL!
Suggestions,
1) Let her use it at the range
2) keep it as a safe queen, the republic can use another sidearm in a couple years
3) keep it as a safe queen, then trade it for 60 pounds of pasta and 5 pounds of hard red winter wheat in a couple years
@@phild8095 Great suggestions Phil! It just does not want to leave me…LOL!
Bought a Ruger LCP Max about 3 weeks after they hit the shelves. Absolutely love it...replaced my Glock 42 as my everyday pocket carry...Never leave home without it!!

LCP MAX in 22lr with 22 round capacity for "2022"
Love your choices, Number one is cool, though I'm sticking with my colt mustang.
I thought the new 10mm offerings from S&W and Springfield looked pretty promising
I 100% agree with the LCP max being #1. 10+1 or 12+1 in your pocket. My bodyguard was the only pistol in this size able to group at a distance. This is lighter and has a better trigger. Capable of 2x the capacity.
The bodyguard is an awful shooting gun, if you wanted a decent shooting 380 before the lcp max you prob shouldve looked into something called the lcp
Thanks for the awesome year of content Jimmy!
The last two years certainly were less than ideal. Besides everything else going on, I was diagnosed with cancer. BUT....what an incredible years for firearms & shooting! A new AR, two new AR PCC’s, a new SIG pistol and I was finally able to locate & buy ammo for my various milsurps. Starting the new year with CCP and a suppressor for the rifles. I’m happy!
Awesome pics. Slightly disappointed you haven’t figured out how to draw from a pocket holster yet 😂. Kinda funny how you just toss the holster to the side tho. Those holsters are designed to catch on the inside lip of your pocket so they holster stays in the pocket when you draw the firearm. Kind of similar how an Emerson Wave style knife opens. Whatever works for you is awesome I’m not judging I’m just saying there is a way to easily draw your LCP one handed and without having to toss the holster. Happy New Years everyone, stay safe🤙🏻
Thanks James. Happy New Year.
The Walther pdp has been the best striker fired pistol I've owned / purchased in atleast 4 years time. She's seen about 2k rounds with only 1 hiccup which I think ultimately was my fault due to modding a restricted 10rd magazine to a full size 18rd mag which I ended up taking apart again and filing down the inside of the mag and it's been running fine since.
Agreed it's fantastic best trigger I've ever felt. 1k rds without a hiccup super comfy it's my EDC now.
Yeah, they jerked the PDP by not putting it even in the honorable mentions. Great piece.
I said the same thing. A bit of a bullshit list but James has bills to pay like everyone else.
My wife got me a Ruger LCP Max for Christmas. I have yet to shoot it, but I just bought two OEM 12-round mags for it. Going to get my CHL on Jan. 15th!
LCP MAX in 22lr with 22 round capacity for "2022"
When you realize you bought #1,2,3 and a runoff, you realize you spent too much money, but at least it was on good guns.
I actually bought a LCP Max purely based on your review James, and I have to say, it is a fantastic pocket gun. Shoots surprisingly well too. Happy to see it at #1! Happy New Year!
I was sure that the top gun was gonna be the Laugo Arms Alien since he was talking so much about innovation
I was, too. But I think the Max is a better choice. The Alien's innovations, as impressive as they are, are years away from having any relevance for most consumers.
$4-5 grand, limited run, makes it not an option, it's a collector gun at this point.
Big ups for LCP Max as numero uno. The best gun is the one you have on you when you need one. I will pocket carry way more consistently than any other method. My LCP Max is far and away my favorite firearm, because I’m most likely to actually have it with me. Real sights and the full grip of the 12 round mag mean I can actually put shots where I want them at 5-7 yards, all while forgetting that I’m even carrying it the rest of the time.
If 5.7 was cheaper than .223 I’d blast that shit every day.
And if wishes were horses, I'd have a stable of hot Tomboys.
(Tomboys are better than 5.7. Refuses to elaborate. Leaves).
Dude everything you do is totally awesome
My fiancé is hell bent on getting a Ruger LCP Max. While I’m not a fan of .380 ACP, I’d rather her have more options to carry than to not carry at all. Yes, I’ve been doing plenty of ammo research and I’ve been pushing her to do the same.
Women do not know what they want, just buy her what she needs.
@@pimenjoyer.221 kinda sexist of you

@@factsoftheconfederacy7151 Imagine unironically calling another man sexist. Lol
@@alexwalker2582 I understand why she wants it too, which is why I’m saying that I would rather her have it than nothing at all. I’m glad I’m a 6’4 200+ pound guy. I can comfortably carry my Glock 21 with 13 +1 rounds of 230 grain Winchester T-series .45 ACP. I still would feel more comfortable if she’d be willing to at least see how the SIG 365 would fit for her. I am not a 9mm guy, but it’s the lowest I’d comfortably go. I’ve studied the ballistics of many cartridges, and they certainly have their advantages and disadvantages. The “all handgun rounds are virtually the same” argument is hogwash and ignores physics. Too bad they don’t make a modern pistol in 9x18 Makarov, it would give that ever so slight “punch” that I think the .380 ACP needs.
Happy New Year James! Great video.
Was that a negligent discharge @ 8:24? Sure looked like it

Bought my first Mini in the early 90's when it was *the* economical alternative to AR's on the market. I've since bought three others, the last as recently as 2 years ago. Love them.

lol. I did just the opposite . Sold the 14 and 30 and a bunch of access. I like the garand safety , but mine wouldn't group to suit me ,esp. the 30. Looked at what it would take to make them group......now I'm happy with the AR platform.
Happy New Year! I’m a little disappointed though because I really thought that at the end of the video you’d stand up and be wearing your trademark short shorts with the tux top, but now we’ll never know… 😜

I made a couple great buys, and sold some big winners off this year.
Outstanding. Happy New Year.
Cool list. Looking forward for more reviews and insight in 2022. Hopefully more boomstick reviews which seem to be popular and fun to watch. Speaking of which, maybe a 500 shell test of a new RemArms 870. Since Remington got rebranded, I'm wondering if the quality issues that plagued them have been resolved since becoming RemArms. I know on my 870 Tactical that I got just before Remington went under, the extractors was a notoriously cheap MIM part and I replaced mine with a machined extractor from Volquartsen which resolved my failure to extract issues. Also, I believe I heard you say getting a reliable semi-auto shotgun under $1000 was difficult at best but I believe the Mossberg 930s come in under $1000 and are generally reliable. I don't own one. All I have are pump guns in terms of shotguns. But for those on a budget but don't want some Turkish gun that'll break in under 500 shots, that one may be an option.
Yeah. Review the 930!!
The M&P Shield Plus Performance Center with the 4inch barrel and rds is such a fantastic pistol.
