These are the quality videos I need in my life. I put together a Google Sheets doc of all aftermarket exhausts and videos for my Jaguar and having something like this would have made it easier.
So I just bought the Remus and want a new exhaust again and I will admit, all I want is a loud sound. I'm thinking about getting the Magnaflow next. Thanks for this kind of video, this is very helpful. :)
What an awesome video - thanks very much!! I've a 1.8 TT and it's definitely the cobra or magnaflow exhausts for me, but that's just my opinion. Thank you!
This a great vid. It would be nice if all enthusiast type cars had such a video to help them choose an exhaust. A company out of Toronto, Canada (Brullen) used to make exhaust systems about 20 years ago. They were able to make my 2002 Acura RSX (base model) sound like an exotic. The downside was a bit of drone at times. It's a shame they went out of business, because they truly knew how to dramatically improve the sound of any engine. There's a guy that drives a Subaru WRX or STI with an exhaust that sounds wicked. I would love to find an exhaust that made me feel the way those did. My last car was a 2008 VW R32. The sound of that NA VR6's exhaust gave me goosebumps. While I didn't care for the look of them I was sold on the factory exhaust note. I got really shitty gas mileage because I loved the sound when I floored it, which led to some poor driving habits...but it was all done with a smile on my face. Now I drive a 2010 Audi TTS. I love the look of it's clean lines, , and I get much better fuel mileage than my R32, especially because I'm never inspired by its sound to beat on it much. (I wouldn't say it's horrible sounding, but it's not great either.) I feel the aftermarket doesn't make anything that improves the sound enough to warrant the price. Besides, the power gains are minimal, and there's a chance for droning that you just don't get with the factory exhaust. I do also appreciate it being quiet when I want it to be. That said, out of the sound clips, I did like the V6 Cobra Non Res and the Magnaflow Cat-back, but nothing for the 2L turned my crank. Thanks again!
I bought the miltek exhaust, and it doesn’t sound like the video here at all , is sound pretty good after all and good performance , but I was expecting little bit more sound of the exhaust
I hear you! I bought the Becker cat back, which is more of an axle back, but it comes out the left side valence, so you don't need to get a new valence or diffuser for left, right side or quad tips. It sounds pretty good and improved performance for certain. But it doesn't have the pope and gurgles, I am looking for. It is impossible to find anything that is legal for the 08/09 TT's unless you want to spend $4000. All down pipes throw up a CEL, mid pipes are difficult at best. But the Becker, has it's charms, deep rumble from start. and it puts out a louder sound on acceleration. But not as loud as the ones I see around here. I too am having difficulty making it louder, but it's out there somewhere. Some combo of down pipe or resonator delete mid pipe(s).
how did you like the remus? I have a 08 2.0T fsi fwd, with the left valence. I bought a Becker cat-back, and it is more of a axle-back. Cat back is supposed to mean from the catalytic converter back. which usually willl take away some of the mid pipe area restrictions, i.e. resonators, and smaller pipes. My Becker sounds ok, it was less than $400. I have given up hope on getting a down pipe that is legal, or changing the mid pipe section. So I am just going to stick with a different cat-back. I liked the Remus sound, how did it compare in real life?

Thanks for the compilation
You're welcome

Really nice video! Thank you for that:) How a sequence about the hg-motorsport exhaust?
Also I got to say, i like the milltek sound the best!
For me it would be a toss up between Borla S-Type and Cobra Performance
just put the scorpion on my tts and it sounds MUCH tamer than this! there must be something else done to the car, I'm guessing stage 2 with downpipe.
We have the 2.0 engine, and we bought the remus 🔥

Is the Remus super loud?
Cobra non res….
