Of course that's gonna be the case. The old people are tired and broken from the years of oppression and they don't want their children to go through the same shit. But the younger ones will still fight for their rightful cause. The progressive initiative is not stay low and take whatever garbage the occupation might throw at you but to fight for a better chance of living.
Many of these people have lost loved ones due to police brutality or settlers aggression which frankly explains their extreme views.

@@dminusflamingo7168 Arabs aren't conquering European countries for themselves they are living there following rules if those countries. Very different than Israel who performed Aliya came there. The Ottoman Empire allowed them they could buy lands trade. And after world War with countries weak around they rapidly developed their military and conquered expelled people living there. Called people of their religion from around the world, settled them. There is no comparison of such around the world. Mind you they did it with the help of so called secular countries.
Even the Palestinian Christians were expelled to make way for the Jews that would arrive from all over the world.
So they have no claim for peace because they never came is peace they always came to conquer and want to like peace and everything just for international appeal.

As an Israeli who has voted consistently in the past two decades for left wing pro peace parties, this is seriously depressing. My assumption always that a compromise is possible, and no amount of blood is worth any peace of land - that there is a possibility of having two prosperous nations side by side, which respect each other. This video raises serious question marks over that - If Palestinians will never accept any solution where Israelis are still here, what am I expected to do? My grandparents were born here, all my family was born here, where are we to go? What other option do they leave us other than to use our power to protect ourselves? What reason should I have to continue to vote for parties that support a two state solution? So sad

@@rezazulaa who destroyed peace first ? The Arabs did ! (Multiple times). The first started with a military coalition of Arab states at midnight 14th may 1948. And since then, Arabs (Palestinians) has seeked revenge over their lost ones from every single of their attacks and aggressions. But the truth is, if you instigate a war and loose, you have no right to seek revenge, because you started it yourself. It all repeated itself in 1967, where ALL Arabs were attacking the Jewish state from ALL sides and were ALL BEATEN in just 6 day's. Any muslim that believes in God's will, should perhaps take that as a sign from God !!!. And yet they still continue their aggression to this day, allthough any religious person can see who's side God is on.
A lot of Palestinians live peacefully in Israel side by side With their Jewish neighbors and has done so for decades. But you don't hear about them. You only hear about troublemakers that feels badly treated or complaining over Palestinians being arrested for attacking Jewish citizens. If only Palestinians changed their hateful attitude, they could live peacefully and prosperous. Unfortunately it's their own fault, when they choose hate and complete intolerance instead. You hear in this interview, they DON'T want to live peacefully with Jewish people.

I think interviews like this are actually a better window onto the core issue that a million news reports, books, or academic papers. The Palestinians have never been able to sign onto a "two-state" solution because their leaders know, deep down, that the people aren't really with them. I think Israelis probably figured this out about 20 years ago, but the rest of the world hasn't really caught up yet.

a one state solution is possible. allowing the right of return, ending the occupation, creating an equal state with equal opportunities and equal protections, these are all ways that have yet to properly be tried that may create peace in the future. why would peace come simply from no longer occupying the palestinian enclaves that are the west bank & gaza? palestine is still severely divided, palestinians are still being heavily persecuted, palestinians are still unable to go back to their home countries. this act alone is not enough for peace.

@@anywaytechreview Despite rampant misinfo found on the internet even from supposedly reputable news orgs, Gazans actually didn't elect Hamas, Hamas wasn't even on the election ticket. The PA enacted 80% taxes on Gaza Strip residents only(on top of Gaza never having been wired for electricity and the PA refusing to help them... whereas the West Bank got electricity in 1923). This caused Gazans to immediately reject PA rule over them. Gaza attempted to break from the Palestinian Authority and hold elections, but the Palestinian Authority flat out rejected their rejection of PA rule and also their election results. It was actually the West Bank who elected Hamas, and then with Israel's help the West Bank invaded the Gaza Strip (the actual Gazan election winner managed to finally wire the Strip for electricity in the very brief period after winning and before the PA invaded).
It used to be all the terrorists were from the West Bank, Israel literally imported the terrorists to the other side. Israel did this with the intention that Israel would one day have reason to invade Gaza and drive its' inhabitants into Egypt, which they didn't have before because Gazans were pretty chill with Israel, unlike the Palestinians in the West Bank. Even though both sides were technically Palestine, they were like 2 completely separate worlds for decades, until Israel saw opportunity for more beach front property if they exacerbated Gaza's issues with how the PA treated them and then back the PA in not letting Gaza be autonomous. Before that, most the people in the Strip had relatives in Israel that they were separated from by the partition, Israelis used to come bonfire party with Gazans on the weekends in the 70s and early 80s, they'd just bypass the Eretz checkpoint by sand buggying in on the eastern side of Gaza because there was no wall back then. But when Israel allowed people to mass migrate from the West Bank(despite there being no unowned parcels of land in Gaza for those people to legally move to) the relationship between Israel and the Strip changed real quick after that.

You came in as refugees escaping from European brutalities, they took you in, and then half of their land was forcibly taken by you.
To divide them further(by the admission of your leader) you actually funded "the bad guys who shall not be named" to rise to power. Which they did in 2006. then after they did, you drove all their leaders abroad and prevented further elections from 2006 till now. Then you surrounded the area with the densest population of them and cut off their connection to the outside world by making a deal with Egypt and providing them with limited rations, as you pocketed off the rest. You claimed they conveniently blew off their own power plant. So you had to step in to provide them with electricity as well.
You've jailed actual infants and kids and anyone you got your hands on, you've also attacked the other part that didn't elect "the bad guys"
You have done so many atrocities, that only 10% of their entire population remains. And now you want them to not fight back at all. just unalive themselves in their jail cells.
No a lot of the conflict was not their own making.
How can there be peace, when the stronger party doesn't want it?
How can there be peace if you can just claim a random attack and provide no evidence for it as you go on full revenge mode against the other party?
How can there be peace when the stronger party is just pretending?
Read history books okay, no actually just look at your own life. If say parents wanted a harmonious house, while the kids keep fighting, who achieves their will?
If it was the other way around, the kids want peace, but the parents keep making problems, do you think it's doable?

I went to college in the U.S. which had a strong social justice culture, and the majority of people had very liberal views. As a leftist, I tended to agree with people on most issues, but as an Israeli it never stopped bothering me how they viewed the Palestinian cause as parallel to other movements for equality like the civil rights movement, in that they saw the Palestinians as fundamentally peaceful people trying to free themselves from an oppressor. Clubs like Students for Justice in Palestine and Jews for Justice for Palestinians hosted lectures and activities which constantly reinforced this (false) narrative. Because of it, many Americans in my school had in mind that if Israel simply 'ended the occupation', there will be peace. I used to argue with them that it is not what the Palestinian people want, only for them to disagree with me as if it is a subjective matter what the Palestinians want. I wish I could show them this video.

@nature giver I get what you're saying and that was also a large part of the rationale for leaving Gaza. The problem is the West Bank is much closer to Israel's large population centers. There are millions of Israelis living within 15 km of the West Bank! Even if a miracle happens and Fatah maintains power after we withdraw (current predictions are that Hamas will take over), there will still be outlaw groups shooting rockets and sending incendiaries across the border, which will be incredibly deadly for the Israelis, and also for the Palestinians in the reprisals that are sure to follow.. We are currently maintaining a relative calm there which is widely considered to be better for our safety than withdrawing.

    • @SkateAs10
      @SkateAs10 5 лет назад +25

@nature giver I don't think so. I'm sure others are thinking the same, but unable to put it in words: It's absurd how the world goes on and on about how Israel is the main obstacle to peace for not giving the Palestinians the entire West Bank and Gaza. It's absurd that content like this exists and gets shared, but not noticed and acknowledged. Content which you would think would be the missing proof that Palestinians will not accept peace even if they got "their" two-state solution. And I put "their" in quotation marks, as it is not they, the Palestinians, who want the two-state solution-it is the world which blindly clings on to an illusion of a simple black-and-white solution, in which there's one bad side and one good side. The big and powerful and the easy-to-love underdog. As frustrating as it is, it's not more complex than a lot of people not being able to live with the fact that things are not black and white; that there's not always an easy solution; and that the underdog is NOT always in the right just because he is suffering.

Ask an Israeli colonist if they could survive without being a US military base? Ask an Israeli colonist if they are the most sadistic/fascist colonial project in history. Right after World War II there were two separate efforts to recognize and accommodate the right of a vulnerable religious minority to self-determination in the form of a sovereign state, as follows:
    (1) To accommodate the right of Muslims to self-determination in the Indian subcontinent, the British partitioned India by creating a new country, the Muslim state of Pakistan, despite the vehement objections of Indian leaders such as Ghandi and Nehru; and
    (2) the UN produced, a plan to partition the area west of the Jordan River to accommodate the right of Jews to self-determination by creating the state of Israel despite the objections of Arabs and Muslims.
The creation of Pakistan resulted in the shifting of millions of refugees (Hindus and Sikhs from Pakistan, and Muslims from India to Pakistan), and in the deaths of several hundreds of thousands and perhaps even a million people.
The creation of Israel, or at least the war started by the Arab states who rejected the UN plan, resulted in a far lesser shifting of population and loss of life than the creation of Pakistan. 70 years later, the Hindus and Sikhs forced out of their ancient homelands to accommodate Muslim self-determination have for the most part moved on, and almost no one protests the massive disruption of population and loss of life that accompanied the creation of Pakistan and the accommodation of Muslim self-determination. However, some people who accept that disruption as a necessary cost to achieve Muslim self-determination view the much smaller disruptions necessary to accommodate Jewish self-determination as an unthinkable crime.
Jews have lived continuously and without interruption throughout the Middle East for approximately 3,000 years, and there were Jewish communities in places like Morocco, Tunis, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Israel, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, and Iran hundreds of years before Islam existed. Hundreds of thousands of Jews from those countries were forced to flee those countries when the State of Israel was created. Those who deny the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish State in some tiny slice of the Middle East, but accept the deaths and refugees created by the Partition of India to create the Muslim State of Pakistan, are being very selective to the point of hypocrisy.

I think the two situations are quite different. When talking about the partition of India and Pakistan, the local population voted to be in either Pakistan or India. These were the people of that land. But with Israel, most are immigrants from all over the world and the local population is Palestinian. It's like refugees coming into your home and then demanding a separate land. My grandparents from all sides immigrated from Bihar to Pakistan. They were as Indian as any other Indian but they chose to migrate to a place that would protect them from religious discrimination. I personally know a relative who used have a life of luxury with elephants and horses and palaces and after he immigrated to Pakistan, he now lives in a simple house living a lower middle-class life. They could have stayed in India, same with hindus that migrated to India. They could have stayed in Pakistan. but they chose not to. @joseph adel We had independent kingdoms here centuries ago and there was always a Jewish population here. Jews started coming as Zionist pioneers in the 1880s, where the Arabs (since nobody identified as Palestinian) didn't accept or reject us, they watched and occasionally stole from the Zionist pioneers as they bought land from Arab landowners at hugely inflated prices and redeveloped it. The local Arabs didn't care for the Jews, relations started getting violent in the 1920s though.

    • @warpedcomedy
      @warpedcomedy 5 лет назад +10

      A) Yes it never was. But Jews were the majority for centuries before Arabs came.
      B) Palestinians are almozt all Arabs or descended of non Arab Muslims such as Turks, Kurds, and Bosnians.
      C) Actually there were plenty of Sephardi/Mizrahi Jews interested in a Jewush state. When Zionist pioneers began arriving in the 1880s it was local Sephardi Jewish communities that have them financial support. Tons of Jews from Arab and Muslim countries also immigrated alongside the European Jewish immigration waves.
      D) Pretty much every genetic study confirms Ashkenazi Jews have singinficant Semitic ancestry in addition to European ancestry. You people who deny it just look ridiculous at this point.
      E) Pretty much no Jews identified as Palestinians aside from some radical Haredim and far leftists in the modern day. In the 1880s local Jewish communities were helping Zionist immigration. There are Christian Palestinians though.
      F) Palestine was a primarily European used name what was then Ottoman Southern Syria. The British renamed it Palestine after conquering it. That's what Europeans had referred to it as before.
      G) Yes because again that's how Europeans referred to Ottoman Syria at the time.
      H) Yes and it was local Jews who welcomed them. Arabs were mainly indifferent. They weren't even in charge of handling immigration the Turkish authorities were.
      I) No, Palestinians have some genetic similarities with Jews, including Ashkenazi Jews, because we're all of Middle Eastern descent but genetic studies on the remains of ancient Jews show that the closest modern population to the ancient Jews are Iraqi Jews, not Palestinians.

This is very depressing indeed. Seems like these people do not realize that almost all of us Israelis were born here, and have no other place to call home. I do recognize the human suffering of the Palestinians, but it sure seems they are unable to accept the fact that Israel basically started as a big refugee camp. My grandparents fled on a rocky boat from Italy to Israel, just to be arrested by the brits and locked up for 2 years. My father, a loyal Jewish Egyptian, fled from Egypt as all property belonging to Jews was confiscated as a revenge for the Jews building up their homeland. They were practically being thrown out of Egypt to Israel. The 1948 generation of Jews and Palestinians went through hell and are responsible for hell. But as long as Palestinians cling to the past and seek no solution that can include both narratives, they will continue to lose and that's sad. As one generation comes and goes you will find less sympathy and less understanding to the claim of the Palestinians as they are rooted in this land far more the Palestinians can imagine. We are moving on, building an amazing country (far from perfect) and so is the world. It Seems like we will all have to wait 100 more years for the narratives to catch up with each other. Until then we should all learn at least to be less violent to each other while we try to find a solution to a problem previous generations have created for all of us.

Tragic how the Arabs living in Gaza and the West Bank raise their children and grandchildren to hate. They need to look in the mirror and recognize this terrible tragedy. Both are Natives of the land, but if these people live in denial, if they want a one state solution they should forgive, love, be inclusive and share their land. But I guess they are million years away from being that self aware.

At camp david, which was July 2000, not June, the Palestinians were willing to accept Israel on the 1967 borders, with some territory swaps. but the Israelis made more demands, including the Palestinians giving up east Jerusalem, and Israel controling water supplies in the west bank. Israel would also have control of Palestinian airspace and be allowed to station troops in the west bank as well. This coupled with the denial of right to return meant that the Palestinians couldn't really accept. They felt they had already comprisied on the creation of the state of israel and this was "comprising on a compromise". But that was 22 years ago. The situation of the Palestinians today is way worse so maybe looking back, you could say they should have taken the deal. But they would have pretty much ended up in the same position as today but having given up any pretence of being an independent country.

Even in 1947, these Muslim Arabs have refused a much better deal than Camp David, and they declared war on Israel anyway even though it's not even their land. It's quite obvious that it was the Jewish who are "comprising on a compromise", the Palestinian wouldn't even be in Westbank and Gaza strip in the first place if Israel have never signed Oslo pact.
The Jews obviously need some measure of guarantee that Palestine wouldn't turn against Israel like they did to other Arab states and Israel itself, especially considering Westbank's advantageous geological position that would allow any Palestinian extremists to rain uncheck havoc on all of Israel's densest population center. Palestine wasn't in any position to refuse anything, considering their history and credibility.
Gaza was supposed to prove that a peaceful Palestine could existed alongside Israel. No one would have argued against the two-state solution if Gaza was successful, yet it didn't even last a year until the Palestinian voted for Hamas. There is a reason why UN allowed Israel to legally continue their military occupation on West Bank.

Corey, Thank you. I think this was the very best video on your channel. I learned from it that Palestinians don't understand Gaza or West Bank as separate entities, they rather see them as pieces of what should be a single country (I assume). That's why they don't accept the idea of withdrawing from the occupied pieces. They would be content if Israel (the people of the Book) withdrew from the Land in it's entirety. I also find it interesting that they don't want to decide for others - if people in Ramallah get their part, how could they accept peace for those who are refugees or who live in Yafo. Very interesting. Also it shows that both sides have something completely different on their minds when they are asked "do you want peace". For Israelis it means "leave us as we are", for Palestinians it's "leave us" period.

As I see it, Israel is in the position to bring the Palestinians out of a long quagmire that has put most of them into a state of Apathy. Israel needs to hand them their Country whether some like it or not. The Gaza Strip and a large portion of the West Bank, or West Palestine after borders are redrawn to make concessions. Israel can also propose to build them new Office Buildings in Jerusalem as a Functional, or Operational Capital for the Palestinians to run their Country and its day-to-day operations, as well as some shared administrative responsibilities in running the day-to-day civic routines in Jerusalem. This will elevate their self-importance and perception up to a level where actual peace may be attainable for a sustained period of time. I'm thinking of One Century-because it will take at least a Century for new generations of Children to realize that Israel and Palestine are living in peace with each other, and in cooperation, and even sharing in some prosperous adventures together.
I've Witten a 12 point proposal that could work, if Israel is willing to make a World Changing commitment and some sacrifices. If Israel and the US only thinks of currents events, then any plan will be short lived. We must think about long term results, to see future generations grow up with an entirely new perspective.

Very sad to hear the young Palestinian Arabs so stubborn, immature and closed-minded. Essentially they are saying the following: "This is our country, our land; we want it all back. We suffered so much. There can be no peace with Israel ; in time, we will overcome, inshallah. "
Some if it is just posturing, I suppose, or the fear of reprisals from extremists in their communities who will see this video, if they agree to make peace and compromises.
History shows that it was never a separate country under the Ottoman Caliphs and the local Arabs didn't own most of the lands in Mandate Palestine. As for the real refugees of 1948 or 1967, some left; some moved across the border to Jordan or Lebanon; some stayed to become Israeli Arabs.

The only "weapon" the protesters use are the rocks they find on the ground and throw them at full force to warn the army that they should not come closer, forcing the Israeli army to answer the request by force. Second, despite the fact that they are on their side of the fence, they can always be found near the Gaza Strip and they know it will cause problems. If they really want peace, then they must leave people alone. And why is it okay that if the Israeli army attacks them, it is because they want to protect their country, andif Palestinians doing it with the same idea, they are immediately terrorist.

Hamas is considered a terrorist group by many western countries because they target civilian populations in their attacks. I also have nothing against Jews and Israel and I am certainly not an anti-Semite. I mean what's wrong with a Jewish state, they also have the right to have their own. Only I do not support the actions of the Israeli army. First of all you say "come see for yourself" and with that you claim by yourself that you have seen with your own eyes what the situation was there at the border. If you know it all, then make videos and set it to YT. I have never been able to watch footages of the protesters attacking the army with missiles and bombs. Meanwhile, there are thousands of this "bullshit video" of the Israeli army shooting the protesters while the protesters only threw stones and objects at the army. The fact that hamas have these weapons does not mean that everyone in the gaza strip is provided with a weapon. Second of all, do you really think a fence can stop Israel from entering Gaza? Third of all, Israelis have the right to protect their own borders on their side of the fence. But Palestinians also have the right to demonstrate on their side of the fence. Yes, of course, it is aggressive and yes objects are thrown at the army, but should that seriously represent death threats? Fourth Yes, Hamas are terrorists and I also think the IDF should fight hard against Hamas and yes Hamas has often attacked Israel, but the Israeli army must understand that not every Palestinian in the Gaza Strip is a Hamas terrorist. They kill innocent people who only throw objects at the IDF but, strangely enough, the IDF never fight against Hamas. If you kill innocent people you are a terrorist in my eyes. And recently, Gaza may not be a country, but it is certainly not part of Israel either. The area is largely recognized as part of the Palestinians and more and more people will also recognize it as Palestinian territory. Golda Meir is right about her statement, but people also say "If there was no Israel, there would be no Hamas". I know that the Palestinians are not the peaceful in this situation, but let's not pretend that Israel is the one here who is creating peace here. Both are just guilty of this violence and I support the Palestinians and you the Israelis and nobody can change our mind.

@@hgkal808 it doesn’t matter. Let me give you an example. Turkish people come originally from Huns who lived in east Asia. We were forced out from our land by China and due to some geographic/weather conditions as well. We still speak Turkish. When you look at our dna, it shows we have only 3-4% of Hun dna. We don’t even look like them no more. So who ever migrates in an area, they blend with locals so much. The researchers in Turkey made dna tests few years a go, if turks in turkey are more of the migrants or ancient greeks. Majority of the dna comes from ancient greek which is local. If you look at body types from the statuses from bc2000, its exactly how current turkish people look like.
So what i believe is Palestinian are from the old Jewish who converted to islam and christianity. Ottoman kept peace over there at least 400 years. Before that region has been attacked a lot, but so did anatolia land itself where current Turkey locates. The bottom line is It doesn’t matter.
Look at Jewish people in Israel. They look Italian if they came from italy, they look yemenite if they came from yemen, most of them look very European. For them, mens religion does not matter as long as mom is Jewish. But man hold 50% of dna. Because their great great great great x20 grandparents are Jewish, didn’t they have other kids? Are they the only lineage? Didn’t some of them convert to christianity or islam? If they owned the land, wouldn’t the land be shared among heirs? If thats the case all turkic people should go back to huns land and fight with china, because those lands once belonged to our great great great great parents..

No one has to give up land for peace, just accept the current situation or some agreement without further expectations.
Most Palestinians in this video say they don't want peace, they want war until they imagine they could destroy Israel. They instead believe in Palestinian Exceptionalism just like the Zionists did. Jews are a bit more indigenous to Israel than Palestinians are, yet even without that fact, the fact is every other land on earth has been conquered at some point or another, and unlike Palestinians, they don't sacrifice everything for a dream to go back to the past. Did Christians demand Constantinople back from the Muslims, or did they accept the new situation for peace? But that and 100's of other situations are the same.
Thus, past Zionist Exceptionalism created the problem & Palestinian Exceptionalism means a commitment to the conflict based on fantasy of going back to the past.

'Many of their surnames are good indications of their origins: Al Masri, Al Metzarwah (Egyptian), Al Husseini, Al Urdondi (Jordanian), Al Suri, Al Nashashibi (Syrian) Al Haurani (Hauran, Syria), Al Lubnani (Lebanese), Al Tarabulsi (Tarabulus-Tripoli in Lebanon), Al Iraqi (Iraqi), Al Saudi, Al Husayni (Saudi Arabia).'
There's no such thing as Palestinian Muslims or Arabs. It was a name invented in the 1960s with help from the PR department of the KGB. Christians were called Nazarenes, Muslims were called... Gasp... Arab Muslims. There's not even a P sound in Arabic, and unsurprisingly while the closest Levant populations are genetic cousins - Druze, Jews, Samaritans and Lebanese Christians... The fakestinians are related to Arab Muslims from Arab countries, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, Syria.
The Druze people, a "genetic sanctuary" for the diversity of the Near East in antiquity, have been found in genetic studies to be the closest to Jews of the populations in the Levant. Lebanese also cluster closely with Jewish ethnic groups, closer than Syrians and Palestinians".

There is no such thing in international law as "right of return" for the descendants of Muslim Arabs who left British Mandatory Palestine in middle of last century in the attempt to erase Jews from the land of their origin. You have robbed and kicked out 1 000 000 Jews from all Arab countries. Israel is internationally recognized country by entire civilized world.
