The major thing that helped me was to chew my food until it turned into a liquid before swallowing. This helped close my esophogus where the acid was coming through. I am losing weight and my stomach is shrinking and my brain was still wired to eat large amount of foods and really fast as well. I didn't know how much overeating I was doing until I slowed down and I realized after actually chewing longer that I was getting full very quickly... and before this, I was literally overstuffing myself. Since I've been chewing longer, half my plate is full when I have to stop. Blew my mind.
You are 100 percent right! I notice a huge difference after just starting to slow down and chew down to liquid. I use to eat so fast and not chewing all the way. Also stress triggers my flare ups big time so stress definitely plays a role
Acid reflux is such a pain psychologically, especially when you are trying to gain muscle mass. It's like your body is violently telling you what to do, what to eat, how to live, etc.
I'm in the same pot mate, I have built some huge gym muscle and now I have lost everything because I can't eat and not eating enough means weight loss.... Horrible experience
Hi Dr Josh, long story short, I was praying cuz I had really bad heartburn and constipated, while newly diving into a fully raw vegan diet. Getting rid of old junk eating patterns! I thought of ACV and was concerned if it would make it worse. But this video and Braggs website confirmed to get it. I can say, within the first day, heartburn was gone. Within the second day, all constipation was gone. What a Glorious and easy breakthrough! :-) I used two tablespoons Braggs Raw Apple Cider Vinegar in a cup of water 3 times a day, reducing to once in the morning, as symptoms greatly improved. I'm a new subscriber. :-) Hallelujah! God Bless you, for the quick and easy and simple tips!! Shalom! :-)
I have been suffering from acid reflux with stomach pain and chest pain for the past 9 months! I go through pain every day! I do not know what else to do! I've been taking so many antibiotics and nothing... I wasn't going to work anymore, until I came across Dr. Emovon on RUclips. Thank you for doing everything that you do and helping me during a hard time. I'll definitely spread this to the whole world, I'm totally free from acid reflux....👍👍👍👍
I have been sharing this information with others for over 15 years. It is so good to hear it from someone else. my husband can eat whatever he wants even before bed time with no pain. He suffered for 20 years before he met me and found out how to be pain free.
Acid reflux was keeping me up several nights a week. Prilosec kind of worked as long as I took one every twelve hours, but could always feel the possibility the acid reflux could really flare up. I didn't like the long term side effects of Prilosec and needed a better solution. I found this video, tried it, and by the second day of taking the digestive enzymes and apple cider vinegar I never had a problem again. It's been over two months now. While I don't take the enzymes regularly, I've come to really enjoy the apple cider vinegar on it's own. Since I've started I've never had a flare up or any of the other problems that comes with reflux (bloating, gas, etc). Life is good.
Great to hear that you've healed. So ACV seems to help. I'm trying PPI ' s right now . And it's helping , but don't want be on it for an extended time .
Never in a billion years did I think I would end up with a health condition. Every single doctor visit I've had, I was healthy. But last year changed it all for me...boom....acid reflux. And it sucks....big time.
@@tabularasa968 I cut back alot on anything citus tomato based items and sodas. If I do drink a soda, it will be a the small mini cans of soda and chase it with water. It helps me 🤷
Man some people are so critical anymore. I appreciate your info and you repeating yourself sometimes. It helps me because then i don't have to stop the video and back track. Some people just need more patience. ;) I think you have great videos that are very useful and honest. Keep doing what you're doing, and I'm going to keep watching!
here's several things for reducing heartburn at home Ensure you consume enough water. cut down on tomatoes cut down on citrus fruit eg lemons, oranges cut down on smoking, drinking alchol or caffeinated drinks (I read these and the reasons they work on Alinn heartburn relief website )
I have a severe esophageal stricture from acid reflux. Im currently taking medication for acid reflux but it seems to be making it worse. I've tried to stop taking it and I get awful heartburn. I'm not really sure what to do. It's terrible ..I'm always nauseous and have this intense burning throughout my entire stomache and even in my throat. I'm miserable. I'm only able to eat very soft foods like yogurt or ice cream because of my stricture. Im so malnourished and have lost almost 20 lbs. I've been like this for over a year because I only recently found out that I have a stricture. I've tried Apple cider vinegar and it didn't help me at all unfortunately. My heart goes out to anyone suffering from this
A lot of people are addicted to Soda / I think a good way to quit Soda and get some good Acids is to also consider Kumbocha in addition to Apple Cider Vinegar, I made Vinegar from Pears and that seems to also works just as good as Apple.
@@karlhans6678 the acid is not the problem, you need acid to properly digest the food... There is bacteria in your gut that is eating all the junk food you eat and it's producing hydrogen gas, it opens the one way valve and releases the acid, you need to also change the pH to get rid of this bad bacteria, so also consume probiotics, kumbocha is what really helped me.
it makes me happy to read these comments knowing that other people are dealing with what im dealing with. i wake up for school, and feel VERY nauseous and dizzy. i usually end up throwing up acid :( hate acid reflux
You are 100% spot on but you dont need me to tell you that. My heartburn started with big Rueben sandwiches (high fat) and too much sandwich. The intense, painful burning was so bad I thought i would have to call 9-1-1. Acid reflux was hands down the WORST thing I have ever experienced. I am gonna say it again... It was the worst thing I have ever experienced. It lasted about a month and then vanished. I could not go through it again. I researched everything. My doctor put me on acid reducers! Wrong! I eventually found my way to Digestive Enzymes and it changed everything. Smaller portions, chew your food, enzymes, lose weight. I dont know if there are different pain levels to acid reflux but my heart goes out to anyone who has the bad one. You cant even describe how bad it is. Listen to this guy. He knows what he is talking about.
Does anybody else have tightness in the chest? It feels like there's a lump in my chest. It's not painful just uncomfortable. I've had my heart checked and it's healthy so I ruled that out.
I got diagnosed with H. Pylori. I took 14 days of therapy with antibiotics. After I finished my treatment, I started having horrible acid reflux and burning in my stomach and esofagus. I have tried lemongrass, fennel, ginger, turmeric, and oregano, but I don't feel any different. I tried ACV, and it was really hard to overcome the acidity at night.
@Satisfying Slime DIY check out a tama named lady.. She has a $35.00 reflux program that I bought and am going to start. It's very strict, but should address h pylori. But you have to buy supplements too. Here's the thing, this has just been dragging on for me with no end in sight. Oh, not to mention I'm addicted to sugar. My h pylori test came back negative, but cut all sugar out of your diet if your have h pylori as sugar feeds it.
Great video. I wish had seen this years ago. Most dr.'s only want to put you on things like Nexium, etc. This Dr. actually cared to get to the real problem. Looking forward to give this a try!
I have acid reflux and my chest area is sore as well. When I try to do a deep breath to calm myself, I can feel the soreness very much so. Last year I was told by my doctor I had costochondritis. Which is the feeling I'm getting right now. I also end up stressing at the same time, so it causes my heart to go fast as well sometimes. This started when I was drinking Tea while standing up. The reason why I was standing was that I was helping out with something at the time at home. All of a sudden I felt a cramp in my left side. After I felt it, I kept breathing deeply to try and relax it. It ended up turning into a sharp pain afterwards. The sharp pain stopped after a while, but I'm still stressed, as I feel sore.
I have terrible acid reflux and had to cut out my favorite spicy foods and sugar. Ok sugar every now and then cuz I'm a sucker. I drink apple cider three times a day. Keep it at my bedside. Ive had to change my way of sleeping and my eating patterns. It really helps. I also drink my probiotics and that works wonders as well.
Wonderful explanation concerning eliminating acid reflux. Esp how to safely add acid & digestive friendly food. I wonder, do we start to sabotage our stomach acid balance when we start to eat what adults eat? I've seen parents give their 2 year old kid, BBQ, burgers etc, pastries, processed sweet cereal, sugary drinks & salty snacks. Is that the beginning of not having enough acid?
I so want to overcome this!! I’ve had this since my early 30’s. Been on a proton pump suppressor for approx. 15 yrs. I’ve just stopped taking it and trying to live with the heartburn. It’s hit and miss, but I’ll try things like this. I can say that when it’s bad, I take ACV with water and it shut’s it down for the most part so I can verify that this works. Thanks for this content.
Don't wait for when it's "bad". Take apple cider vinegar and Betaine enzymes Before meals. Stop eating triggers, chocolate coffee citrus etc. and get a wedge pillow. A wedge pillow is comfortable and keeps your head elevated during the night
@@kpackard1 Forgot about this comment I made 9 months ago. Update: I’ve been off my PPI’s ever since. I learned how to manage and I’ve been doing what you outlined for the most part. I have found that HCL during the meal works great and sometimes, I’ll still get a touch of GERD, I then pop a single HCL or take a shot of raw ACV. Avoiding processed foods plays a YUGE part in controlling it as well. Happy to report that I’m now off those drugs. Cheers.
Dr Axe, I want to say THANK YOU A LOT !! I had acid reflux since april, and after visiting a gastroenterologist, she put me on PPI (pantoprazole); I took it around two months, with strict diet ... and nothing, the reflux was still there. searching on the internet, I found your blog where you talk about the danger of PPI's, the importance of diet and THE SUPLEMMENTATION WITH HCL BETAINE & PEPSIN. So, I started reading about that supplement, reading reviews on amazon, and I dedided to buy a bottle. I stopped taking pantoprazole and I started taking HCL Beatine With pepsine... after 4 DAYS the reflux was gone, my body change a lot, I feel with more energy than before. Basically, my stomach acid was low and I had to increance my acid to have a good digestion (something that my doctor didn't check before put me on PPI; I think they almost never check that). I can not believe that a simple pill can change that so incredibly. I really appreciate your information and your time to teach us about healt. I'm eternally grateful. thanks again and best wishes from Argentina.

Thank you very much for the information🙏🙂 I had very serious throat pain everyday for many years till today..and doctor said it was cause of acid reflux. In recent years..chest stuck couldnt breathe sometimes if I took solid food eg rice..must drink a cup of warm water before each meal. Yup...I always gobbled up my food or skip my meals due to heavy workload in office for 15 years, and didn't know till now, how serious that would affect my health.

Ray Kodiak HI. Well I'm suffering from gerd from last 2 weeks. And I think the medicines are making the symptoms worse. Just want to know for how long you were suffering from acid reflux?
Nemo Langching the medicine helped me a lot, to start feeling good again... but it lasted for a while, maybe like 2-3 months, Then I started to brew kumbocha again and drinking, also started to eat Greek yogurt for breakfast, those were the two major changes I made.. then I started to half my medicine for a few weeks, then one day I stopped and it didn’t come back, I guess I started to exercise as well.. and lost like 15 lbs.
Nemo Langching also, when you excecise your throat will get dry if you still have acid reflux and you want to drink water to relieve the throat burn, as I kept to exercise more, I felt it was getting better and better...

Thanks so much! I've had acid reflux for quite some time. Though I didn't know what it was until I decided to go to a throat doctor a few weeks ago. I've gotten sick with the flu at least a couple of times a year, & then it turned into a dry cough. I thought it was just a natural sickness that came several times a year. I'm a music-voice major in college. Therefore, I sing a lot & could barely afford a dry cough. Many people noticed the cough, & were getting worried. They were recommending an ear, nose, & throat doctor, so I agreed. According to the Doctor, the dry cough is from acid reflux. He prescribed me to some medicine & gave me a list of things of what to eat & what to avoid/limit. Since I began taking that into consideration, the cough was getting better. I'm still coughing a little bit, but not like crazy like I was. I'm still taking medicine for it, & I realize it will be a little bit before it's 100% gone, I am patiently working my way there. I also drink a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a small glass of water 10 minutes before each meal. Now that you mentioned it, maybe I will try a tablespoon. Thanks again, & blessings.
Dr Axe, PLEASE do a video/study on LPR "the silent reflux" this is different than typical GERD. The LPR sufferers are having the acid go past their heart straight into the esophagus.
And into their throat. Pepsin sits there, waiting for acid vapours, or acid after eating to come up (very loose les). But if you drink anything acidic, the pepsin is activated and your throat begins to digest itself. What an awful thing. Ppi's didn't do anything for me. Ugh. This has been almost two years. And I need to just start drinking banana broccoli smoothies at every meal with coconut probiotic yogurt... Ugh. So hungry.

@@danieade1559 hi how was your condition? I am also having throat problem esp. when I eat spicy and acidic food~ this might be a silent reflux too, i triend to gargle baking soda sln, but there is only a little relief.
Thank you Dr. Axe. I don't suffer from acid reflux during the day, but I've been told I have silent reflux at night, or LPR. I have done most of the lifestyle changes, but still seem to have an issue. I had my gall bladder removed about 15 years ago. Could my reflux be from a lack of bile in digestion, and will digestive enzymes be a good solution? I thought the gall bladder removal was a blessing because before I suffered from heart burn almost everytime I ate. Now it seems only during the night. Thanks.
I would say 99% of the time acid reflux is due to gallstones, tho you dont have any gallbladder. So you most likely have stones blocking in the liver ducts. This is a huge problem that the medical community dont have any treatment for, more then removing the gallbladder. The stomach acid is correlated with issues with the liver and enzymes production. You can look up Andreas moritz for help, or go to curezone homepage "forum" "liver flush".
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people always doing something to make money out of any there work. specially online business. but you really did inspire me. thank uou dr Josh Axe
Hi Dr. Axe! I am so grateful for all your knowledge you give in your many platforms. I have been on Prilosec 40 mgs for 10 years now and am starting to feel some serious ramifications to my gut health. I want to start a lot of the regimens you suggest for healing the gut but feel I really need to get off this medicine. How can I do this? I have tried but it's extremely difficult with the rebound acid pain. Could you please make a video for all of us suffering on these PPI's and how to safely get off them? I praise God for your wisdom and wiliness to share. Thank you!
Important addition from my experience : for someone who has acid reflux, the lower part of the eshopagus is wounded. To heal that wound, don't consume food that can irritate that part for awhile until it healed, and vegetables and apple cider vinegar is one of them to avoid.
@The beast im finding acv with the mother is helping, its been 2 days now, take b4 meals, then take a digestive enzyme tab after meals x 3 times per day.
Alex Kain ya same man i think the best thing to do is to stop eating 2-3hrs before you go to bed and always take apple cider vinegar 10mins before you eat a full meal as instructed in the video
I can drink coffee again! I had to stop for about 3-4 weeks, but doing the above, plus what I list here, got me back on it (not as much per day now though ;) It may or may not work for you: -I would add Caprylic Acid to the supplements. It's good for if you have a fungal overgrowth of yeast (sugar and carbs can feed it). -Calcium citrate and magnesium citrate. I've noticed that caffeine seems to affect the LES it because it causes malabsorptions of these two. I also notice acid reflux as I'm COMING DOWN from my caffeine use. Obviously you can speed up the effects by slowing or stopping your coffee consumption, as well as naturally eating these via some green vegetables. Tums is simply calcium carbonate, but it's good to internally take in calcium as well. - Also a weird exercise: Drink a low/zero sugar carbonated drink and do NOT burp for at least 2 minutes. You'll feel your LES (lower esophageal sphincter) tighten when you hold it down. This is the only way I know to manually flex that muscle, which has been worn down from acid reflux and poor nutrient absorption. I felt relief when I did this, but I would say this is something to try and see if it works for you (may not). Watching this video because I was curious how much it lined up with my process. I've gone through the above process twice, with my last "episode" only lasting a week. I got everything I needed from amazon (plus a multivitamin, just to be safe): NOW Caprylic Acid 600 mg,100 Softgels Digestive Enzymes Plus Prebiotics & Probiotics NOW Betaine HCl 648 mg,120 Capsules Solaray - Calcium Citrate Complex Now Foods Magnesium Citrate Veg-capsules OPTIMUM NUTRITION Opti-Men Good luck!
Digestive enzymes corrected my acid reflux and helped with other issues too (e.g., gas, bloating, sluggishness, insomnia and carrying extra weight). Apple cider vinegar occasionally helps, too - instantly - when I eat too much or too much of the wrong things. Thank you for another excellent teaching video!
I am short of breath for weeks now. Sometimes I wake up at night and I palpitate and i shake and i feel suffocated. I went to the doctor and they told me that I have GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. Does anyone ever experience this?
Consider checking out dr.bergs videos, I’ve found helpful. Sometimes palpitations at night may be a sign of a hiatus hernia. Also low magnesium. I have silent reflux, which has been hard to pinpoint due to no heartburn. Also know as LPR, esophageal reflux. I’ve started taking betaine and Apple cider before meals, also daily magnesium. Dr.berg, and also Thomas DeLauer have been very helpful. And no, I’m not on keto.
Yes yes yes. I thought I had some kind of heart condition, when I woke up and my heart was beating so fast and hard. Then a few days later it happened again. Then I started having pressure in my chest . A week after that I felt like I had a lump in my throat. My doctor diagnosed me with gerd
Yes I have this too, it's terrible! I went from a healthy person to having this problem. I pray to God everyday to heal me completely from this. I also experience a constant sore throat (everyday), lump in throat feeling sometimes, shortness of breath, pain behind my upper back area ( no idea why). I am taking Gaviscon at the moment, my ENT diagnosed me with silent reflux. Anyway I'm also going to try the Apple Cider vinegar.

A week ago they said I had GERD also, I was experiencing a burning pain in my heat and my chest was so tight I couldn’t sleep well, they prescribed famotidine, which I took the first 2 days and did nothing ! I stopped because of my research of pills actually masking pain and in the long run creating a much more life threatening problem which I figured, so I tried natural things but in the end I’m noticing now like I said it’s been a week and now the past 5 days I’ve been off medication and I can say eating the GERD recommended foods are helping even tho I still feel a slight burn but overall I sometimes feel normal :/ I do wish this never happened :(
Thanks for a great video! It amazes me how bad the medication people take for acid reflux is for it! Some of the medicine literally reduces stomach acid and that just makes it worse! I struggled with Gerd and stomach ulcers for about 2 years and I researched every single day for an answer because my medicine wasn't working. Now I know why.

i have few curious questions: 1. what about drinking apple cider vinegar when you have ulcers in the esophagus junction due to GERD? i bet this will turn into an erosive esophagus with more acid 2. what about hiatal hernia causing GERD? if you drink apple cider vinegar, then wont you be flaring things up more by adding to your acids? 3. what about the PPI drugs becoming widely used and prescribed by doctors, isnt it contrary to take PPIs and at the same time drink apple cider vinegar which is acidic? 4. last but not least, why do you say in the video that oranges, tomatoes, etc trigger acid reflux while you recommend increasing the acid in the stomach by drinking apple cider vinegar. if oranges and tomatoes trigger reflux because they are acidic, how come some people still recommend to add acid to the stomach by drinking apple cider vinegar?
I *think* the acid in ACV is different than the acid in citrus fruits. As in it more closely matches your stomach acid. But aside from that, yeah I think you have great points. I am hesitant about using ACV as well .. for all the reasons you mentioned, but it will strip the enamel off your teeth pretty quick too.
Yeah i wonder this too , but from what i know ACV is acidic , but in the stomach it leaves an alkaline ash. So not acidic in the stomach but alkaline that's the theory.
@@tabularasa968 I actually talked to my gastroenterolegist and asked him what causes acid reflux. I asked if it was too much acid in the stomach or too much. And he said neither. It comes from the sphincter at the top of the stomach weakening for a variety of reasons and acid from the stomach coming up into the esophagus. He said it really was not a too much or too little acid kind of a thing.

Any tips for a severe acid reflux? I can actually feel the acid in my upper stomach and with that a severe back pain tp to shoulders. These things had me in sweat every night
Braggs organic ACV is what I use too. I had gotten off my PPIs (Prevacid) because they left me deficient in vitamin D, B-complex, and likely magnesium as well (the first two were confirmed by blood work). The reflux rebound was rough. I had changed my diet but highly dense foods like carrots would kill me. Some random guy on FB was going on about vinegar and balancing PH. So I took a swig of balsamic vinegar, which was all I had. It burned hard for a moment and then the relief was significant. Been a vinegar user ever since and picked up some Braggs soon after. .
I was a sufferer of heartburn, chest pain and acid reflux but right after following this heartburn treatment HeartBurnCure9.blogspot.com , all those issues were fully gone. I also cured my constant fatigue and rushes due to it. I really feel great and at the peak of my health.?
I have tried so hard to drink vinegar ACV, but after a day or so when it gets under my nose I start to gag- and that is with or without mixing it in water.
I have GERD accompanied with hiccups. This combination kept me up nights and left me fatigued and irritable. I started eating smaller meals more frequently during the day. Currently, I'm eating six meals a day. I had been overeating when I was doing the three square meals routine. So far, no hiccups or heartburn. I also reduced red meat and hot spices too.
I was diagnosed with acid reflux and i have a very high metabolism. I’m a very slow eater and I cannot eat large meals mostly because my stomach can’t handle a lot of food. I will try this though and see if it works.
*Who didn't have Gerd before Covid 19?* The general treatment for gerd is to *stop eating trouble-maker foods* . The usual suspects include *coffee* , *chocolate* , *alcohol* , carbonated beverages, mint, garlic, onions, and spicy foods. *Smoking* also irritates the esophagus.
Apple cider vinegar saved me ..... I had a 'rebound' reaction of stopping my PPI (Prilosec) cold turkey after 20 yrs. & BID. OMG... I had NEVER had pain with my reflux before, but NOW I had acute pain, n/v, almost called 911. ...but I'm lucky a kid in my local health food store 'suggested' maybe I had too little stomach acid vs too much. He offered the Betaine HCL and I readily took it and it worked. and to think I did this to myself - by stopping abruptly - going 'cold turkey'. OMG. Wish I had seen Dr. Joseph Mercola video BEFORE I stopped my PPI.

CreativeJustice I too have really bad anxiety and it has affected my acid reflux. Tried everything SSRIs benzodiazepines, and nothing helped if not made it worse. It was only when I got off the medications and only continued to smoke weed while starting therapy to learn how to battle the anxiety and everything has been much better. I recommend counseling
The PPI elevated my anxiety level to the point that I was hyperventilating (panic attack). Once I stopped the PPI, the anxiety level came back to my "normal" level.

Thinking it's so darn healthy, but not understanding that with two cups a coffee a day, and being a total stress case closer to when this started, that I might just have a very acidic system that just further damaged my les. Don't get me wrong, if acv works, it works. But it can also equally make you much worse depending on many factors. Find out from a doctor if your stomach ph is more alkaline or acidic.

What about someone with Barrett's Esophagus or people with a lazy lower esophageal sphincter? Adding acid to a problem stomach doesn't make sense, it's not going to fix their problem. Avoiding the triggers like mint of any kind, chocolate and caffeine are crucial but ultimately, they may need Laparoscopic antireflux surgery.

Hi Dr. Josh Axe. With Apple cider vinegar, do you add it in the water or must one drink separately?. How much water are we talking about here in terms of ml? . Is it tablespoon or teaspoon?
Thanks, gonna try out the apple cider, I have lots of it that I never use. Also heard to try have 5 smaller meals instead of 3 large ones. My reflux has gotten really bad and is getting me down... hopefully I can get rid of it because my lansoprazole doesn't seem to be doing its job anymore.
Have a question for you. My mom get a very thick Fleming in her throat making it very hard to swallow. The Fleming is very thick. Do know what she can do for this?
Yes. Get Amoxicillin, and next time, don't stop taking your heartburn prescription. If you need to try a remedy, make sure to continue taking your medication after trying unless the remedy works for you. Same thing happened to me.. turned out it was a strep throat which was mostly due to not managing my GERD symptoms.

It's typically recommended to take probiotics on an empty stomach, either first thing in the morning or right before bed, at the same time each day. Ppl make tea with ginger root and strain the ginger for acid relief. Pills are harmful to our bodies like prilosec and zantac shuts down kidneys. I have gastritis and esophagitis and I get relief from drinking a lot of water, eating smaller meals and staying away from my known triggers like chocolate, tomatoes, oils and anything sour. It takes time to get your body to heal but it will if you avoid those bad things until your symptoms are gone but still eat those controversial things in moderation when you do. Good luck.

Dr. Axe, I appreciate all your videos. Thank you so much!!! I can't drink ACV because it hurts my throat and stomach. How would you recommend I drink it to avoid hurting my stomach and throat.
Well that part of it but if you are eating those banned foods you will still have AR.
I'm try that..bit I also get it when I don't eat ..like while I sleep it will wake me and I start choking I vomit alot bc of this..smh

@@karlhans6678 the acid is not the problem, you need acid to properly digest the food...
The sharp pain stopped after a while, but I'm still stressed, as I feel sore.
how are you feeling now?

How are you now?
Ugh. So hungry.

Hello, how many times a day and how much?
I can drink coffee again! I had to stop for about 3-4 weeks, but doing the above, plus what I list here, got me back on it (not as much per day now though ;) It may or may not work for you:
-I would add Caprylic Acid to the supplements.
I got everything I needed from amazon (plus a multivitamin, just to be safe):
NOW Caprylic Acid 600 mg,100 Softgels
Digestive Enzymes Plus Prebiotics & Probiotics

@@stacey5204 Hey Stacey, wondering if you have tried the apple cider vinegar? I am interested to know if it helps you, because I have shortness of breath as well from my gerd
Now I know why.
currently 4:33 a.m. Woke up with the feeling of something coming up my throat (I have emetophobia so anything like that is scary for me) so now it isn't the actual acid reflux, Its the fear of vomiting 😖
I had this prb...the more you think the more you will have it..just relax and over come your fear,anger,overthinking...stay busy with friends and creative work.
I just let myself vomit, feels better afterwards
I have the same fear, my body is now rejecting the thought of vomiting so it's for me even though vomiting could ease the feeling I can't my body doesn't want to

I been prescribed omeprazole and been taking it for a couple of weeks for my reflux. Do you guys think I'm better off stopping the omeprazole and try the Apple cider vinegar ? Doesn't really sound a good idea to try both at the same time . Appreciate any feedback
It works
Don't eat anything at night, don't lay down on your back during day or atleast keep inclined angle when u do lay down.
i have few curious questions:
1. what about drinking apple cider vinegar when you have ulcers in the esophagus junction due to GERD? i bet this will turn into an erosive esophagus with more acid
2. what about hiatal hernia causing GERD? if you drink apple cider vinegar, then wont you be flaring things up more by adding to your acids?
3. what about the PPI drugs becoming widely used and prescribed by doctors, isnt it contrary to take PPIs and at the same time drink apple cider vinegar which is acidic?
4. last but not least, why do you say in the video that oranges, tomatoes, etc trigger acid reflux while you recommend increasing the acid in the stomach by drinking apple cider vinegar. if oranges and tomatoes trigger reflux because they are acidic, how come some people still recommend to add acid to the stomach by drinking apple cider vinegar?

And the result is that I have small hiatal hernia with mild reflux which affecting my voice . People start thinking that I'm upset or something when I talk !! What do u think the best alternative of soda and the coffee ? and do I need to worry about the hiatal hernia ?
Strong coffee and soda is begging for acid reflux to get worse as you age. It did for me. I use moderation now with apple cider vinegar and chew DGL licorice tabs. It helps greatly.

Stress is a huge factor. I'm dealing with anxiety disorder and I tense up a lot due to the disorder and it is the primary cause of acid reflux.

Any tips for a severe acid reflux? I can actually feel the acid in my upper stomach and with that a severe back pain tp to shoulders. These things had me in sweat every night
For me that pain was severe gas, i use 1 teasp baking soda in water, to burp and pain. Feel better.
Been a vinegar user ever since and picked up some Braggs soon after. .

What if it is from anxiety? As long as you have anxiety - I get gastritis - would hci pepsin be good without ranitidine

Dr Berg has something to say about this
Also, you could have lpr, watch out because you then have pepsin in your throat. You can have both gerd and lpr. And Dr berg is a chiropractor... Not an actual doctor.
I would even say, that taking acv every day for a year may have even contributed to me developing lpr.
