that error mostly appears because 1) the 3DS browser uses expired SSL certificates. for example theres a lets encrypt cert that was used by majority of the internet that expired in 2021 and that caused a lot of issues for older systems. 2) Many websites require atleast TLS 1.2 or even TLS 1.3 for a secure connection. and that will also cause the websites to not load and then there’s the fact that websites are constantly getting more bloated and if you even stop updating the browser things will end up breaking :/
fun fact: wayback machine archives made before the ~2017 work perfectly fine on the 3ds browser, i tested it with an archive of the 2008 roblox website altrough, the actual wayback machine website doesn't, so you will have to manually type the snapshot link
the New 3DS Internet Browser it lasted until the end, it no longer works and it's a shame tht the only Nintendo console that could be used to navigate the internet, i hope the Switch succesor have Internet Browser this time...

I've gotten the web browser to work before. I think you're doing it wrong. I'm pretty sure if you have a RUclips link directly to a video you can get it to load.
When I open RUclips on my 3ds I get a message that my browser is outdated, I managed to bypass this message by changing the link from watch?v= to watch/ I also got most websites to load by using the internet archive, I loaded up archives of 2024 and they worked. I got a few websites to load without doing anything special, but except for ao3 and an old German Animal Crossing wiki a lot of them had trouble completely loading. Ao3 actually works really well on my 3ds, I only have to wait a second for the pages to load and I had no issues or malfunctions when loading up and completely scrolling through a Chinese fic with 300,000 words and an English fic with 40,000 words.

It most likely won’t just like the PS5 to block web hacks like homebrew - it would be very cool though if they implemented it for quick searches
