Cool pedal. I look forward to hearing how it works for you with the group. Also. Congratulations on being selected as one of RUclips Personalities, I voted for you, for sure. Would love to see you win!
This is the best video I have heard on this pedal. You really have done a great job in detailing the differences between the plain sounds versus the pedal sounds. I am very interested in this pedal because I am in need of a preamp for my acoustic guitar. Thanks for your professional work!
I bought a new guitar Eastman yesterday and it took 10 minutes to capture a profile with my Nux. I used that sound this afternoon and it was perfect. Admittedly, I have had the Optima for a year and have a quite a lot of experience of recording guitars but this is the easiest and quickest system I have ever used.
You made my morning great. Lovely acoustic guitar sounds. I'll give 2 thumbs up if there was the option to. I really liked your intro with the electric guitar part 👍👍
Oh boy!! Jon you are making my wish list even longer 😂😂 That is a serious piece of gear for someone like me with no acoustic amp. Thanks for your lovely playing and your excellent review 👍😀❤️
Wow! NUX is making some nice stuff. Even tho I’m a bassist, but play guitar on occasion. This pedal sounds great! I can see my talkamine classical thru this. I’m pulling the plug on this one! Great review!😳🎶👍🏾
This is great. Normally equipment reviews are for electrics and I just watch for your playing since I don’t have an electric guitar. But this appeals to me since I only own 2 acoustics. I know I’m in the minority but that’s the way it is. I love the different sounds you can get from this and the price is reasonable. I’ll have to think about getting one. Thanks for the review.
first mistake many make is playing an acoustic w preamp through a non acoustic guitar amplifier .IM just watching this now .Fishman has a cheap install w a piezo bridge and built in mic ,,so u can blend ..love it , good luck .
Just a While Longer - is exactly what I want to hear Jon play. Nice job. I learned p,i,m,a finger picking looks like you play p,i, a but sounds great anyway you play it!
Great video nice playing i bought one cant hardly wait to give it a go. And i have to agree this is the best video on this box. Too much talkin and not enough lettin us hear what it does on the other. Great job
Actually Jon,,,I've been listening to many demo s, + + your off - on comparison, has made me decide to try this,,,,figured a way that I can mix separately ,slightly in the mix. Even though I don't "love" any of the sounds, I think it's worth experimenting
Hi Johnathan thanks a lot for this very good work! I bought this pedal before few days and i am still on experimenting with it. I have not tried live until now. I know the video is 3 years old, but maybe you can tell us your experience of playing with it live and if you still using it today. Thanks a lot again
Great video. Regarding the "blending IR with preamp sound," according to NuX: "The IR Level Knob cuts/boosts the IR file signal at 8dB. Middle position is 0dB. For example, if you find an imported IR file sounds too loud, you can use this knob to turn it down to avoid distortion. The editing software even offers bass-cut and treble-cut to fine tune the IR files. It doesn't give any dry signal, so it's not a balance/mix knob." So, my understanding is that you cannot really blend the different sounds. I'm not sure though. I'm still a bit confused by this. I do enjoy the pedal, however. My biggest issue with it is that, for my set up, the preamp tends to introduce a lot of unwanted noise, so I often don't use it.
Hi Jonathan! Do you think thw Nux can transform a 3/4 junior/travel sized guitar into a dreadnought or auditorium style sounding guitaring? Small guitars can have that ukulele-like mid rangey sound to them which I can't get rid of. If the Optima Air can somehow remedy this problem it'll be a game changer for us folks with small guitars or er.. fingers!
Not all of us have the luxury of having auditorium sized guitars! Anyways, greetings from Jakarta! Can't wait to be able to cross the pond again once the whole pandemic thing is over!
Is it possible to set up presets to function as a boost pedal? Hoping to set an IR and then set another preset to same IR with a little more gain. Do-able?
Thank you... I have a cort MR500E semi acoustic guitar but the tone is not sounding as shown in your video with the same settings. Are there any other additional settings to be done. Please let me know if possible.
Hey Jon, do you think this still stands up for use in 2024? And how many cables and other equipment would you need to plug this into a pa type sound system? Finally would this work with under bridge pickups like the Hifi?
Really great video , the best of this pedal. I have a question if you can help me. I have a godin guitar with nylon strings, the classic guitar model (piezo magnets) Since i can see you have many guitars in your studio, do you have by any chance a guitar with nylon strings? If so , how does it sound with this pedal ? Of course it can't be as great as using an acoustic guitar but is it ok ? I searched on line but no one is testing the pedal with another guitar than acoustic. Thank you in advance
Great review! I just recently purchased one of these. I like the way it sounds but I am hearing a large amount of hiss. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
Great video - a wonderful starting song - a very interesting pedal. One question about it, is it possible to give IRs fom one to another? For example, can you send me your sampled HB IR and i can load it up in my pedal? Via USB? Thank you and stay safe ❣
Bonjour.
I bought both Optima Air and Stageman Floor. I'm really satisfied with the Pre amp quality on Stageman Floor but my Optima Air Pre amp is definitely not as powerful as the Stageman Floor. Since you have both of this device did you also compare the premap quality between opitma air and stageman floor and how does it sound? Was trying to make a comparison with another Optima Air unit at the dealer but they do not have in stock right now. Please let me know your experience with me. Thank you.
Great playing. I'm a little confused as in how does it work though... can I use it to record my acoustic guitar playing like a DI into my DAW so that no room noise is recorded? Also, does it come with the default IR so that I wouldn't have to bother to record my own into it?
@@JonIsJustTooLoud guess I got lost myself, yes I did watch it, but then I saw a random guy using a mic with it so I just wanna make sure... thanks man.
This is the 2nd video I watched for this device and the Taylor 814 IR sounds awful and not like an 814. Is it just me or is the 814 IR really that bad sounding? Otherwise the other IRs sound really good.
Hi Jon ;-) Is it also possible to load a "clean-single-coil-Fender-amp-IR" into this pedal and play it with a regular stratocaster? I mean, - is this pedal also able to sound as electric guitar amps,- when using it with electric guitars and IRs from electric guitar amps?

I have also stated that if you have piezo equipped electric, it might work too. YOu are right, it might be a case of not understanding what I explained or they have not watched the entire video. I would be interested to know if you found out if you can mix the dry and IR signals.
