Super was not expecting this but I love it that you're reacting to this! Minos Prime is one of two (currently) superbosses in the game unlocked by Perfect ranking every level in their respective acts (Minos prime is the act 1 superboss), the level itself consists of two main parts: the first fight theme is against the prison that is holding Minos prisoner and the 2nd fight theme is against Minos prime himself.

@@georgieegames Oh trust me it is a fun fight where he teleports around mid attack which can be quite disorientating at first so a lot of the fight is you reacting to sound ques and finding him in your peripheral vision as he does fighting game-esque combos, I would 100% reccomend the game, it's an easy to learn hard to master type game. And to P rank a level you must not die in that level, kill all the enemies and exit the level within a time frame and get enough style points (similar to Devil May Cry).

Lore time: Minos was the judge of the lust layer in ultrakill. He didnt think love should be a sin, and thus when for some reason the Angels dissapear, he makes a renaissance on the lust layer.
But when the Angels reappear, they kill him and leave his rotten corpse to wander the layer, and destroy what he has built thus far.
Another thing is, when a human of inmense power and/or regarded as one dies, their souls become a prime soul, beings of so much power, that they can destroy most Angels. When they kill Minos, they also imprison his soul, thats why theres two very opposing songs in the ost, first you fight the living prison, and then Minos himself.
Also you should check the sisyphus ost, he is also a prime soul, but he is very different from Minos.

@@georgieegames well, since you first reacted to Minos Prime, it would be fitting if you listened to OSTs of his successor, Sysiphus Prime, current hardest boss in the game. there are also two major bosses with absolute bangers for a themes that you should definitely react to - Gabriel with "Divine Intervention" and "Death of God's Will"(metal AF name) and V2 with "Versus" and "Duel". can't forget about OSTs for normal levels, they're also VERY good. here's some of my favorites from every Act - "Castle Vein" and "Requiem" from Act 1, "He is the Light in My Darkness" and "Altars of Apostasy" from Act 2 and "The World Looks White, The World Looks Red" and "Hear! The Siren Song Call of Death" from recently released 7th layer of Act 3.
also, the lore of Ultrakill is actually VERY cool for a crazy, fast-paced, "balls-to-the-ceiling" FPS shooter with LOTS of mechanics, but I've seen very little videos talking about it, so if you want to dive deep, i think it's best to look is up somewhere else (or see for yourself in the game ;) ).
i'm really glad you're enjoying the ride so far and hope that you will enjoy the rest of it.

Oh Minos' songs are a GREAT choice for a first foray into Ultrakill; Minos in Ultrakill lore was the ruler of the layer of Lust. He was a a fair king, beloved by his people and fair to all until the angels of Heaven struck him down and made a mockery of his corpse.
And, there's a thing in the lore where, when a person is killed, their soul is destroyed and the body becomes a Husk (one of the types of enemies in the game); turns out that Minos had such willpower and rage that his soul turned into a Prime Soul after his death, and the angels themselves weren't able to destroy it, so it was sealed away in a hidden prison while Minos' Husk was used to subjugate the layer of Lust.
So yeah, Minos is overall a very tragic figure; he's a well meaning dude that got handed the worst of hands. It's why the second track is so chaotic while the thrid track is so orderly (hah), because you fight against Minos' prison in the first phase and then Minos himself in the second phase. Ultrakill's lore and OST is sick and really fun to find out more about.
For more tracks I'm going to recommend Into the Fire (as the first combat track that plays), Versus (as one of rival boss fight themes), The Fire is Gone (as my favorite personal piece that really showcases how melancholic the lore can be) and Altars of Apostasy (for my favorite track in the whole game). Also, all of Gabriel's boss themes and Sisyphus related tracks because they're absolute bangers-

Minos is judging V1 (our character) because V1 is a robot made for war, so it is a professional murder (it uses blood as fuel), and Minos was a beloved King while he was alive. In the song, we set him free of his flesh prison (literally called like that; its the first part of the boss), so that's why he is grateful, but says that "the crimes thy kind have comitted against humanity, are not forgotten". Also, Minos' willpower was so big that the white dude that you are looking at is his SOUL being manifested as a physical thing.

OHHH what a positive surprise! :D Great reaction video, I love how you're sussing out the lore based on the music! You're not even far off with it too, which surprised me!
I love Ultrakill's OST and I'm sure you'd love so many more of their tracks too!! There's some distinct character specific leitmotifs that keep popping up between different tracks and it imo gives a lot of the areas the tracks play in so much more lore-context-based depth for it. Some tracks I highly recommend you check out are The Fire Is Gone (the title screen theme) Glory (you'll likely notice that this one shares some melody pieces with the Minos Prime OST), Altars of Apostasy (last battle theme in Act II) and Tenebre Rosso Sangue (the track that plays in the lead-up sequence to the P-2 boss)! :D
Either way I hope you give this game a shot, it's a fantastic game in every aspect, from the art and sound design to the OST and the game mechanics - whether you just like bloody murder fun or care more about the immense amount of lore, this game offers something for everyone
(and mind you, this praise comes from someone who normally sucks at FPS games and normally dislikes them for that reason, but Ultrakill has a lot of accessibility options that make it fun to play for even beginner noobs like me)

This was probably the most unexpected thing in recommends to wake up to. Great reaction, loved your vid! Though there are several things you got wrong, but for someone who supposedly hears of this game for the first time it's not much of a deal, especially since you still can try it out yourself.
Honestly, it would be interesting to see your reaction to the entire OST of ULTRAKILL, but it might be a bit unrealistic, so, if I were to pick few, it would definitely be:
    -Into the Fire
-Castle Vein + Altars of Apostasy (it's actually two songs - first from Act 1, other from Act 2, but there is a bit of overlap between them)
    -Death Odyssey
-Gabriel's themes from both acts (Divine Intervention + The Death of God's Will) preferably with voice lines for better immersion
    -WAR
-The World Looks White/The World Looks Red; Danse Macabre & War Without Reason from the latest update also might be worth checking out
All of these were done by Hakita, so this way you can also see how his style progressed
There's also Tenebre Rosso Sangue made by KEYGEN CHURCH that comes in different flavors (normal, combat and calm loop) which is also a great pick for reaction I think. This one, alongside WAR, is used in the other "superboss" level, akin to the one Minos Prime is from.

The game starts with the following lines
    MANKIND IS DEAD
    BLOOD IS FUEL
    HELL IS FULL
V1 is a machine that is fueled and repairs itself using blood (as many other machines in the game and in the lore do)

      @Anonymous-iu3rj Год назад +2

Fun fact: V1 is actually the only machine capable of absorbing fresh blood through its armour. This is because of its armour plating being thin and fragile. It's the reason why its HP is relatively low compared to most other machines.
Also fun fact: The reason why V2 can't absorb blood is because there was no need for ̶a̶n̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶e̶n̶s̶e̶ a defense war machine to continuously sustain itself during the peace era, so its thin plating was replaced with thicker defensive plating. This is why V2 looks bulkier and why it has a larger HP than V1.

He said “creature of steel” as well. V1 is a bloodthirsty robot going through all the layers of hell and basically purging all life on them. Taking out demons and machines and husks and so on. The holy council as well as the angels don’t like this, as hell is their prison for vile beings and humans, so they try to stop V1 in its path before it destroys it all. The reason it sounds so tragic is because V1 is the robot you play as. You’re a mindless killing machine. You are the true antagonist who wants nothing but blood

Always a treat to see people reacting to ultrakill music. Id say Minos is a pretty good start to listening to its OST.
My suggestions are either 'wait of the world full mix', Gabriel full OST and monologues, and the whole of layer 7's songs. These set of songs are p r i m e examples of Ultrakills best songs.
(Yes there are other amazing songs but im trying to keep this as short as possible without trying to rant)

ULTRAKILL is a very fun game in my opinion. the mechanics in that game is awesome and you can be very creative in how you kill your enemies. Just Imagine Doom Eternal + Devil May Cry and you get Ultrakilll. Others have mentioned Max0r's videos, which I also recommend. it follows the story somewhat, but its called 'Incorrect Summary' for a reason, so its mostly like a parody of the storyline.

I (more or less) have memorised the lore of ULTRAKILL, here you go:
We play as V1, a war machine fuelled by blood, healed by blood (at least in game). Humanity has gone extinct, whether by Hells corruption, Gods disappearance, their own machines or a mix of all three, they're all dead. With no source of fuel on the surface, we dive into Hell.
    Each layer of Hell has unique, Limbo focusing on psychological punishment. The rooms are fake, speakers in the corners playing bird noises and the walls distorting if you go right up against them. One sinner was presented with a choice;
Stay in Limbo to go insane with boredom, or go further into the depths of Hell, and we see his remains, praying to a painting of Gabriel.
Lust is a city, once populated by its mass of residence, but now, its decaying and decrepit, a massive living corpse destroying it. This corpse, is the Corpse of King Minos, a once beloved ruler, the King Of Lust. During Gods disappearance, he tried remaking Lust, an era known as the Lust Renaissance. Once Heaven reformed however, ruled by the Council, they took notice of Minos's heresy and sent Gabriel to kill him. Minos tried to reason with Gabriel, who struck him down nonetheless. His punishment, was to be trapped inside his own body to watch helplessly as his own body, now controlled by the serpentine parasites he once controlled, tear down the city and terrorise the inhabitants. He swore revenge on the angels, regretting his own weakness.
Gluttony is a gory place, seemingly inside a body, with stomach acid, bones and eyes everywhere.
Greed is a hot, sandy layer, seemingly "Egyptian core", and you can find sinners carrying massive rocks up the monuments of humanity. The "sand" is actually golden flakes, burning hot. And the King Sisyphus, used to reside here. Now, he is dead, trapped inside the deepest level of Heresy.
Wrath is the River Styx, which is no longer a river, but an ocean, filled with the souls of the damned who were controlled by their anger, or who bottled their anger.
Heresy is dark, and gloomy, but then we appear in the city of Dis, pools of boiling blood where sinners are tortured.
    I might add more later.
Edit: 3:59, that song is called CHAOS, and it's the Flesh Prisons theme. It's a warmup boss before the REAL asskickening.
Edit 2: Flesh Prison isn't actually alive, it doesn't have a soul. It's purely reactive. And it does heal. But it's a prison, so who's the prisoner?
    Minos.
    King Minos.
He became a prime soul, a being whose will is so powerful, and who was so fondly remembered, that he didn't need a husk to physically manifest. In fact, Prime Souls are so strong, that even the proud Angels fear them. His theme, ORDER, is the exact opposite of CHAOS.
    Flesh Prison has 3 attacks.
A blue flash, white flash and a purple flash.
The blue flash is a swarm of homing projectiles.
The white flash are just angelic airstrikes.
And the purple flash is a blackhole that brings you down to 1 HP.
It can also summon eye minions, which will hurt you and heal itself.
When you kill Flesh Prison, you release Minos Prime.
He thanks you for his freedom
"Ah, free... at last. O, Gabriel... now dawns thy reckoning, and thy gore shall GLISTEN before the temples of man! Creature of steel... my gratitude upon thee for my freedom... but the crimes, thy kind have committed against humanity, are NOT, FORGOTTEN. And thy punishment... IS DEATH."
He is fast. So fast, you don't see him move. He doesn't teleport, he leaves rubble when he moves. He literally has to shout his attacks so you can at least fight back.
JUDGEMENT! is a dropkick, CRUSH! is a slam, DIE! is another slam, PREPARE THYSELF! Is a one two combo with a projectile as a third, and THY END IS NOW! is a four hit combo. He loved humanity, and because the machines are a part of my humanity is extinct, he wants to seek revenge, by killing you and the other machines.
But, he falls to V1, nonetheless.
The Gabriel he refers to is an arch-angel.

to answer some questions: these three “songs” are used in the level p-1, in which you go down a spinal staircase with “spinal staircase” playing getting on edge, you go down it pitch black holding a torch seeing only in front of you as you reach a door , you place the torch down and talk through it only to be (very unexpectedly) coming face to face with a sentient prism made of flesh, angel power and hell powers as it attacks you, this is when you get to hear “CHAOS” as the coming fight is absolutely brutal and unpredictable
but we as the main character defeat the prism and it turns out it was a prison to hold minos, a soul so powerful heaven itself fears it, minos of course is thankful for his freedom but as he comes face to face with the thing that destroyed humanity he can’t forgive him and quite literally gives us the second hardest challenge in the game with it playing “ORDER”, a song comprised on motifs from previous songs in the list layer, where minos used to reside
TL;DR minos is hype but i’d recommend also listening to “tenebre roso sangue” + “pandemonium” + “WAR” as they are the songs from the current hardest level

The music for the level is split between the creepy walk to the boss room itself, The miniboss fight and then Mino's own theme which has themes and details taken from the songs for the levels in the lust layer (Whomst hes the king of and lore related to him can be found in)
If you can handle a fast game then i absolutely recommend Ultrakill, its insanely fun with a high but fair skill ceiling! good lore and great music too :D

Some lore context: you play as V1: a prottotype war machine that van repair otself with blood absorbant plating that goes to hell to seek for more blood since mankind is dead. Once there was a judge in hell who was called Minos and he sent sinners to their respective layers in hell and one day, god deemed mankind a failure and just vanished andheaven was thrown in chaos. During this time Minos who thought it was wrong for people in the list layer to suffer for loving each other decided to reofrm it into a giant city in a era called the ludt Renaissance where he was a kind and caring ruler. However eventually heaven formed a group of hugh angels called the council and were not happy about minos turning the lust layer into a city so they sent the strongest angel, Gabriel,to execute minos. Minos tried to eeason with gabriel but got killed by gabriel. However because of how powerful minos was and how much willpower is soil had, his body not only formed a giant towering husk taller than skyscrapers but his soul began forming into a prime soul: a soul powerful enough to have a form without a physical body. Out of fear, the ciuncil pit his soul into a flesh prison, a giant fleshly construct that was like an organic machine. Meanwhile king minos' husk got controlled by snake like parasites and started destroying the city and Minos could do nothing but witness it and swore to destroy the council.
The theme CHAOS is the theme of the flesh prison and it fits it very well due to how erratic and chaotic the fight goes and order is the theme of Minos Prime

I’m new here but the RUclips algorithm brought me here and I’m glad it did.
TLDR: Try listening to all songs from the Ultrakill ost in order so you can hear the progression of how the music changes.
-If you play Ultrakill online or offline just remember that the game lets you get creative with its game mechanics.
I’m unfamiliar with how you do things on your channel, with all the comments asking you to listen to all kinds of songs from the ost, I might recommend you listen to them all in order and upload a full long video or just some songs you liked and want to share your reaction to them.
If you choose to play Ultrakill while recording or by yourself, do note that the game and its mechanics are very open to creativity and after getting to know how things work I recommend asking yourself "wait can I do this?" Or something along those lines, do try as this game will let you do lots of fun and new things that it won’t tell you directly.

For reaction recommendations, I'd suggest the Wait Of The World full mix (the second superboss stage) or the ULTRAKILL: VIOLENCE EP that just came out for the new update. Might be a little long since it is a whole layer/chapter of the game tho
Anyways, a bit of lore for the boss :)
    Spoilers below
King Minos was once the Judge of Hell. He resided in the Lust layer of Hell, sentencing the souls of the damned to their eternal punishments. Once god abandoned the world that they had created, heaven was swept into chaos and the angels watching over hell returned to heaven, leaving the sinners without any reason to continue their punishments. King Minos, being the just and benevolent ruler of the lust layer, decided that eternal suffering for the sin of love was wrong and abandoned his role. He then began the "Lust Renaissance" where the layer of Lust was transformed into a massive city where sinners could do as they pleased. However, the angels, who had now formed the Council of Heaven, acting in god's will, were not pleased to see this once they returned to hell. When an army of angels was sent to return hell to normal, King Minos attempted to reason with their leader, Archangel Gabriel, but was instead struck down without any opportunity to fight back. The angels then allowed his corpse to be infected with parasites, which piloted his body to destroy the city that he had founded. In death, his will and anger was so strong that be began forming into a "prime soul" which would revive him and give him the power to rival an archangel. The angels, fearing that this would happen, created the "Flesh Prison", a sentient prison that would trap Minos' soul and prevent it from fully forming.
An unknown amount of time later, the player finds the prison, defeats it, and frees Minos' soul, giving it the time to finally turn into a prime soul. However, Minos, who has been observing the world, knows that machines/robots were one of the reasons that lead to the downfall of mankind, and so he sentences the player to death and vows to enact his revenge against heaven.

10:19- 10:52 this specific part of the music feels sad when you know about the lore of the game, it's a leitmotiv from a music of the game called "requiem" it's from a level called "death at 20.000 volts" the level happens on a city (a part of one, if you look down (you are in a floating part of city) you can see that the city is much bigger than that part), this city was founded by king minos, on this level the "requiem" sound is played, it's a very melodic and sentimental, it passes the vibe of a society. The city was founded because on the story God is supposedly dead and Minos tought it's unfair to people from lust layer to be conmdened to eternal suffering for loving each other, so he founded the city for them, but the heaven council comdened him to death for treason, and Gabriel, the Archangel kill him with no mercy, being declared the new judge of hell, and Minos's soul get sealed into a fleshy prison and you, the robot called V1 free him, that's why he thank you for freeing him and say that he will get a revenge over Gabriel. when that leitmotiv starts playing you can feel the attempt to make things work, to make justice, to put order on that layer, but in the end you know you will kill him, you as player can even feel bad for Minos when fighting his soul because you know he has good intentions even for trying to kill you, I mean the robots caused the end of humankind, but you have no choice, you need to kill him to proced for something better than letting he stay imprisoned (i guess, bc the game isn't finished yet)

  • @TigzCalamity
    @TigzCalamity 11 месяцев назад

10:19-10:53 is (if my phrasing is correct) a Leitmotif to another song in the layer of lust (which is being destroyed while V1 [the robot and player] pushed through the layers of hell]) the song itself is called Requiem and they had that leitmotif because Minos was king of the layer of lust before he was killed by Gabriel (thus the reason for the vengeance monologue before order) Gabriel or someone then proceeded to trap Mino's soul (the Prime soul) in a prison which is where we come in go down a spinal staircase destroy the living prison (Chaos Song) and fight Mino's prime soul (Order Song).

7:18 Basically, he was trapped in a prison made by the angel Gabriel.
    His backstory goes as follows:
He was sent down to the lust layer of Hell for god knows what, and he attempted to reshape the lust layer as he felt that “people should not go to Hell for loving one-another”. Eventually, Heaven found out about what he was doing and sent Gabriel to seal him away. Upon meeting with Gabriel, Minos attempted to reason with him as he was not a very violent person, but Gabriel did not listen and struck him down. He locked Minos away in a Flesh Prison in fear of him becoming a Prime Soul. And from then on, Minos was forced to watch as his possessed corpse destroyed what he had built and killed everyone he protected in the lust layer.
Earning him the title of “The only good person in Ultrakill”.
    Prime Soul:
A soul of which is so powerful that they can destroy heaven alone, these souls are often feared by Heaven and are locked away in Flesh Prisons.

Quick recap on Minos Prime lore: Minos in both Greek mythology and Dante’s Inferno was a Demi-god that was the judge of hell, but he did not think the punishment for lust was just, so when god left after humanity went extinct, he went into the lust layer and worked to build a city to protect the sinners of list from the constant storms. But, when the angels finally got ahold of the chaos caused by the disappearance of god and decided to form a council to try and enforce what they thought was “God’s will”, they saw what Minos was doing and decided it was against the will of god, so, they sent Gabriel to kill him, but Minos was a pacifist and when Gabriel got there instead of fighting he tried reasoning, unfortunately Gabriel showed no mercy and the angels trapped his soul in the Flesh Prison (the boss we fight before him) and forced him to watch as his giant lifeless body destroyed everything he worked so hard to build. In that prison, his will for revenge got so strong that his soul became a prime soul, and his pain caused him to give up on his pacifist ways.

8:32 to clarify, Minos Prime was the king of the layer lust, where, after God left Earth (since they were fighting and fighting), he improved living conditions better(via housing, factories, etc.) for the sinners. Still, the angels of heaven didn't like this, so they sent Gabriel to assassinate Minos. Minos was foolish, thinking he could reason with a literal angel, so he was killed. His body became full infested with parasites that used his husk to move around (and also destroying the very city that he created) However, if you have enough will, status etc, etc., you can become a prime soul, in very short terms, you are powerful as shit, AKA a Prime Soul. and of course, heaven knew this would happen and locked him up in the Flesh Prison and put, placing the prison inside his husk. After V1 kills the prison, Minos is finally free, and well, he TRIED to bring salvation to what’s left of the Layer Lust by trying to destroy V1 but ultimately he failed. So no, he isn't an angel that became evil; he was a good king thatwho helped people, but even though he was doing good, since they were in hell, everything must suffer, so Heaven did their thing.

So a bit of a lore explanation bc i felt the need to correct some misconceptions while listening to the ost, ultrakill takes place in hell (like dante's inferno hell) and Minos in the lore of ultrakill was originally king Minos, he was both the judge for any soul that entered hell in limbo, and was also the king of the lust layer. A prime soul is formed when a soul is split from the body/husk, but the willpower or soul is so strong is can still manifest into a physical form without said husk or body. Minos was killed to the hands of an archangel named Gabriel (Who is a real archangel btw) after he tried to lead a peaceful protest in the lust layer against god and in the wake a prime soul was formed, due to the dangers this could hold he was locked into a prison called the flesh prism. He can only escape if an outside force destroys the prison, in which in the fight against minos prime, you destroy the flesh prism first to free Minos before you fight him. that's a basic explanation and that's as simple as a lore explanation of anything in ultrakill can get rlly so apologies if its extremely long-

This charater is called "Minos Prime" in lore he was king of lust, when god disappeared in lore, he decided to go against heaven cause he found people being send for hell for loving 1 an other was unjust [rightfully so], when gabriel came to kill minos, minos tried to reason with him but was killed, then parasites took over his body as he watxhed them do that and was unable to do anything, forced to watch his kingdom, his people, all fall, he was put inside the flesh prison [the boss that played chaos], when he was freed, he became a prime soul, in lore, prime souls are so powerful they make heaven itself shit themselfs in fear, when you beat them, he only wishes for forgiveness for failing to being justice, 10:15 when it gets to this part alot of people, includjng myself, feel it as minos letting his rage, or his will to protect his people, his kingdom, all going free with this part alone

The lore of Minos is that he wanted the Lust layer to be free, and Gabriel killed him for it, but that to his SHEER F***ING WILL, he came back as a prime soul and was imprisoned in his own corpse.

I was surprised how much you nailed the vibe here just from the music. For Chaos, you nailed it; the boss is very angry and wants to kill you AND can heal itself. Order was mainly correct; the boss fight is very epic but also very tragic, as the boss is the manifestation of King Minos, who was struck down by Gabriel, the archangel, and left his people to perish. And yet you are killing Minos for the second time.

CHAOS - The theme of the flesh prison.
A prison of flesh with no will, little mind, and only reacts to stimuli with specific attacks.
Created by heaven to seal Minos, as Prime souls are the strongest beings, save for God himself of course

    So some Minos lore:
-Before becoming a prime soul and being locked in the Flesh Prison, he was a noble and kind king who loved his people very much (and a bull a little too much (if you know you know)), his people who resided in the layer(or circle) of Lust. After the disappearance of God, he guided his people in Lust to reform and make a new peaceful world, and it worked out well. But, The Council (a group of angels that took the place of God) thought that freeing people from their rightful punishment for sin (thats how Minos gathered his people) was against what God wouldve wanted, so they sent angels (including Gabriel) to end the civilization. Minos tried to reason with Gabriel but got struck down in the process (either in the heart or directly through the skull because of his design). His soul was thrown into the Flesh prison because they thought it would become a Prime soul and infested his corpse with Parasites so that it could tear down everything he built.

Minos was lore-wise, the one good person who didn’t deserve what became of him in Ultrakill.
