You are correct, this does work now with a current daily build. For whatever reason it didn't work for me a few days ago - and since the Pointiness from the Geometry node doesn't work anyway, the solution with baking a map for the patina mix is currently not a bad one ... I think
You need to slow down a little bit and explain what you're using with the node editor. Just spitting out words and skipping explanation steps doesn't really help...
Actually he's just talking over a speeded up video. People try to impress us with how fast they work but its not true. His screen is also blurred. He will have spent some time experimenting to get all these settings just right before recording the tutorial. It's also probably edited together like they do with baking tutorials. Then they knock Andrew Price who does it in real time. He practises all day before he records tutorials and says so. The problem is they create the impression to the industry that that's how fast things can be done. Many of them want us to buy stuff of their websites rather than make it ourselves for free. Not sure that's what Ton had in mind!
Hey , I have a question, I'm fairly new to blender, and I did a really cool low poly deer. I was trying to apply a lot of good looking materials and found this one. The problem is as it is low poly when using this material, I only get the "corroded" effect and not the real copper one. Do you know how I could fix this and only get the corroded effect on the edges ? Thanks anyway !
very good thank you.
Amazing sir
Wow it's amazing, Ill never seen before like this tutorial, Its never be old, Thankyou for it.
Was worried about being misled, i was wrong good explanation about anything .

Really good and useful tutorial !
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing :-)
The AO node should also work in Eevee, but you need to enable AO in the post processing tab to activate it.

UV unwrap and texture paint!
@@chrisprenn I don't really know how to do that 🥲 do you have a tutorial on your channel? Can I still use the material I created ?
I don't have the overlay node... can i replace it with something?
Thanks for the video!
Color > MixRGB > Blending Mode "Overlay"
@@chrisprenn thank you so much!
I really can't follow, if you're new to blender try to avoid this and come back when you're more familiar with it.
