@@LezSpringfield Yeah it's defo Grindy. It takes forever to get the perfect level for everyone to kill a boss. Or it's a matter of killing enemies until they drop the item you want because Erik keeps failing his damn half-inch

JrpgGamer468 Wow we share the same Xenoblade opinions :) I still need to play X, but 1 and 2 were both excellent. 2 was actually my first game in the series, which is probably why it’s my favorite for the same reasons you listed, plus the music. Although 1 has a greater story and a cooler world to explore. I really need to play X, because the world looks phenomenal.
*Minor Spoilers* In the early hours of the game, I was kinda disappointed that this was the ONLY overworld theme aside from the VIII version. Not even a night variation. I switched to the VIII theme after finishing the first Octagonia arc cuz I just needed a change of pace. I love that theme, but when it came time to look for the witch in the Sniflheim region, I felt compelled to change it back. The VIII theme served as a great breather for the time I had it on, but the story was starting to pick up in intensity again and the music was no longer reflecting that for me. I thought I liked the VIII theme more than the default, but boy if it didn't start growing on me FAST from this point on. It just ties the whole fabric of the game together flawlessly imo, and makes every step you take on your journey feel monumental as well as playful. I'm just now realizing that this isn't a feeling I can properly articulate at the moment, so just take from my explanation what you will. Just know that I love this song and it's now impossible to get tired of it.

After playing the demo, I decided that I didn't love the gameplay enough to commit to the whole 80ish hour experience, so I skimmed through a longplay video series. This song and the town theme were already getting old in my first few hours, so I was shocked to realize how much of the game is spent listening to those two songs. I liked them at first, but wow...
I realized that this part of the song makes me think it sounds like a college fight song... because this portion sounds like part of the USC Trojans Fight Song.
i both hate and love this song. hate bc i have 120 hours on my save file and still havent beat the final boss love bc this is one of my favorite rpgs ever
Damn you, Sugiyama! This is the version that should have made it into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The original sounds like a cheap knock-off compared to this masterpiece. This, however, is extremely catchy and motivating.
Got to hate the vision of that really old man of not putting them on to sell later as albums, along that he hates gay people from the male side part, aside from that he's more than a great compositer and his notorious status is more than rightfully earned once again through this OST and the rest of them from Dragon Quest XI and the previous one.
I actually quite liked this game Edit:Okay since posting that comment I've pretty much gotten to the end of the game and MY GOD IS IT HARD indigenous was easy it's just trying to get to mordegon without running into all the monsters and wasting my resources and I have everyone to almost level 50! Okay so I got through jasper and the first phase of moredegon I'm just having trouble on mordragon I think what I need to do is heal more Okay so I beat mordegon ive played through more of the game im now at Calasmos i just need to finish the last 2 wheel of harma trials and the luminary trial and level up a bit more and then I think ill be ready
Meanwhile dq 4 every character has a different overworld theme... I simply cannot like this game with this boring songs and generic party members when u played 4 first
Slight correction: Every character from a certain chapter. In order to hear such in the last Chapter, you need to have just the character(s) associated with said chapters active in the party to hear their overworld theme. Otherwise, what plays after you get the wagon is “Wagon Wheel’s March.”
the soundtrack is really atrocious in Dragon's Quest 11. I've quit the game 3 times over the last few years because of the music. Finally I'm starting again on pc where I can mod the game and replace the entire soundtrack! This is the way! The composer for the series was fine when the game was relegated to 8bit and 16bit hardware, but once the tech become MIDI and even now with orchestration, his lack of talent becomes more evident.
Most of the songs are orchestral versions of songs from Old dragon quest games and they sound magnificent. Also I can't help but feel like your disrespecting a dead man
DQ 11 OST is kind of bad. It leans on the strengths of the legacy tracks that comprises of 90% of songs used. It was worse in midi format. I pretty much only liked Rab's Theme and the song that plays with Serena and the harp. I had the midi version until I bought the ost for the orchestrated tracks, but it just doesn't lean on its own, in my opinion. A march on a min loop is not what what you really want to hear on a world map as well.
