Although I agree with you Liam bladed type clubs are for lower handicap &pro players, however the way Pete played both sets of does make the choice interesting. What would the difference have been if Pete was not aware of which club he was using would this make the difference any closer, because he was aware of which club he was using did this subconsciously have an effect on his approach to the use of the bladed clubs. Very interesting test well done
Well done Pete, some great golf.....it seems to me blades work if you are a consistently good ball striker, therefore it’s likely that a mid handicap player would be better served with more forgiving clubs...( that’s also me by the way)

I've had blades , muscle back and cavity back clubs . Blades I used last year when I was playing off 11 my thoughts are you need to middle it every time to get the full affect and also have a higher ball speed to get the correct distance. Pete being a senior could play with a bladed club but on a lighter shaft. My preference would be muscle back irons more forgiving and at the end of the day you want to compete and make the game easier 💪🏻💚

Had my clubs stolen a couple of years back and despite arrests and charges being made I never got anything back or any compensation from the criminal trial or my insurance. Its a horrible feeling. Sorry to hear about it Pete.
When I started playing there were only blades. As soon as Karsten brought out a heel and toe iron I bought a set. I see so many handicap players using blades and they don't have the skill.
Game improvement feel better on miss hits, but actually drop more distance from off centre strikes due to their hotness from the middle only. Forgivness is just feel and good marketing.
Always love seeing Pete. The 4 irons 301 23°, 101 20.5°, 7 iron 301 34°, 101 30°. So not just the shaft causing the extra distance. Good to watch.

I learnt with a few Fred Daly master model irons(with tired leather grips) given to me by my grandad. Good old Dunlop 65's too. Happy days!

My first clubs were Ben Hogan blades, found them great off the tee but hard work from 7iron onwards. Pete played so well, no pressure on him.

I was a high handicap player and I loved my Ben Hogan blades...A blade teaches to you how to strike the ball properly.!
