Our glutamate intake via veggies etc is insignificant compared to the dose of MSG used in restaurant cooking. BUT that’s not the only issue. Glutamate is a neurotransmitter and thus, interacts with glutamate receptors. I believe that we should minimize exposure because some people are very sensitive to this excessive glutamate. Yes, the US FDA has classified MSG as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) but they also require labeling on products containing MSG due to the sensitivity of some and we clearly need to do more research. But disparaging MSG just cuz it sounds like some industrial chemical is pretty wrong. Not only that but MSG hate has its roots from racist ideas about Chinese people. Moreover the amount of people that are actually sensitive to MSG are far lower than you're trying to imply. Just cuz some are sensitive doesn't mean MSG is all bad. Some people sensitive to fish yet we don't have the same denigration of fish compared to MSG.
The FDA are not credible in them selves. The americans will eat anything. The high standards are in europe. And in the UK they care a lot about what they eat, the americans dont.

Dear Brother, I love you and your work. I don’t understand Urdu, but I reply accordingly. Firstly, I have extensive experience in the field industrial & food chemicals. Let’s discuss soybeans. Soybeans have been cultivated & used for thousands of years by our beloved Asian communities for a plethora of edible & non-edible purposes. Yet, nowadays, the soybean industry has commercially evolved into a market of its own. A mass of people go to their local markets, along with restaurants worldwide and purchase extremely large volumes of vegetable oil. In fact, 95% of vegetable oil is derived from the soybean. Harmless, right? I beg to differ. The issue is that no only are the majority of these soybeans GMO, but the compounding issue is that the “oil” extracted from the soybean is done with a petroleum derivative known as hexane. There’s no one in his/her right mind that can claim that hexane will not have long term effects on humans & animals. MSG in its original chemical isolation was not an issue at that time, because it was apparently done in small batches via simple hydrolysis. NOW, because it it is extremely industrialized & a popular form of cheap seasoning salt, it is industrially produced with ammonia & corynebacterium. I am almost positive that that the majority of ammonias are carcinogenic and the bacterium utilized are GMO. Because some organizations deem these chemicals or ingredients “edible”, doesn’t mean that they’re good, okay or harmless. I can tell you that most, if not all food products that are commercialized & industrialized are not good for short/long term health. I encourage everyone to look into the small families that control the agriculture, medical and media industries in order to control profits and to keep us in a vicious cycle.

I would like to add my experience with chinese salt. It was prior to its international ban. I used to have it in minor amount in my food like macroni or speghetti or Chinese rice only once/twice a week. I suffered severe headaches with nausea, never knew salt can be a reason. Got my eyesight checked ...met doctors many times to resolve issue but nothing worked. Till a time came that this ban announced, it was in early 2001 or later. I immediately stopped using it n my uncured headaches stopped miraculously till this date I never had those headaches again. Alhamdulillah.

I would like to add my experience with chinese salt. It was prior to its international ban. I used to have it in minor amount in my food like macroni or speghetti or Chinese rice only once/twice a week.
I suffered severe headaches with nausea, never knew salt can be a reason. Got my eyesight checked ...met doctors many times to resolve issue but nothing worked. Till a time came that this ban announced, it was in early 2001 or later. I immediately stopped using it n my uncured headaches stopped miraculously till this date I never had those headaches again. Alhamdulillah.
Could be an alert to the salt.
I am alergic to lemon, it flares up my gout instantly. Even though most arthritis patients use lemon as remedy. 🙂
