He over extended himself imo. Had he stayed local to his original bakery, I think he would have been more successful. Extending he took away from the quality in his product
I loved watching Cake Boss! Was so excited when i went to Vegas and saw his Restaurant and bakery in the Venetian but the line was super long for the bakery. I wasn't standing in the line that long and later saw the vending machine in our hotel with his cakes so i bought one! It was very pretty but very dry! I was very disappointed, but i still love The Cake Boss!!
I loved the family working together and showing the family side of the business. You got to get to know that family. Still watch reruns. I wish he would do a RUclips channel to let us still be part of his family. Prayers and God's blessings to everyone and your families
He is awesome. He had a lot of responsibility put on him at a young age when his father died, and took care of the family and loved his mother dearly. Buddy beautiful family man!!
We used to get our Cakes when it was just Carlo's, they were fresh and delicious! After he became famous, he was more interested in making money from the show than his original clientele. His products suffered and weren't as fresh anymore. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere. Such a shame!!
I love the series and the family interacting with one another. When we went to NY I was so stoked to taste his cakes from the bakery over there. I was super disappointed, but still liked the series.
So glad I got to take my grandsons to visit his shop in Hoboken in 2019. It was our first day of vacation and we loaded up on “goodies” that lasted the whole trip
I respect anyone being ambitious however he expanded into over 10 business ventures. That can drive anyone to disaster. Stick with one. Maybe once he gets through this, he will go back to his original love.
I visited the original Carlos’s in 07/11 during a trip to NYC. Stood in line for 2 hrs & paid $30 for 2 slices of cake & a cupcake for my 9 yr old son😒…and it was no better than the deli at my local grocery store! I was expecting the “best red velvet cake ever” and threw out 1/2 of it because the icing was SO sweet I was getting nauseous. 💔 Just goes to show: beauty is often skin deep (with cakes AND people🤷♀️). Give me a fantastic tasting, uneven, plain, homemade cake any day🎉
I like his ambition and his lovely soul, he seemed he carried he burden and responsibility after his parents' death. I can see the love within his family, especially his sisters.. I enjoyed watching the tv show, but never tasted his cake since I live far away . One thing I did not like and can't accept is the lack of hygiene in making the cakes ! All people who are working on the cake don't wear any gloves or head cover, they touch their face and nose while working on fondant , and they talk so closely to the cake wich spread dripple and germs. When they opened up a Carlos Bakery in Dallas I was so excited!! Well that all changed when my family & I tasted various items! 🥴 I could not believe it!! The lobster tails tasted like some kind of chemical had fallen in the creamy center stuff!! Horrible!!🤮 Their cakes/cookies were so dry!! Plus a hair was baked into one of the cookies!!🤢 We couldn’t believe it!! I called to try to get a refund ($54)& I was told no & that I could take in the items we bought for an exchange. I even emailed pics of each item plus the hair!! This was so disappointing! After so many complaints & bad reviews they eventually closed the bakery down!!

It never fails when it comes to food, when a business is small, handmade and the family and staff work as a team. A team, the finished product is exceptional. Once they expand things become tasteless, forced, overcompensated with sugar or salt and they're just riding off the name. What happened to the product? It happened with Sylvia's and many other businesses. I wouldn't eat that mess if that was free
They made airplane cake for a ceremony at the AFB my husband was stationed at. He said it was an amazing cake. He didn’t get to eat any because he was too busy but said it looked really cool. I think it was even on an episode.

I'm from Latin America. In my country everyone knows about the show and we all love it and he was a big part of my childhood. I loved to watch his show with my mom. I used to watch it and be sad I would never actually go to his store. I got to go in 2023. It was amazing and a dream come true :)
I bought one of his cakes at the bakery. Paid 50 dollars for 8 inch cake. I wasn’t impressed . I can get much better for a fraction of the price at my local grocery store bakery.

The Cake machines are notorious for being disgusting, dry and just.. over priced for something you can make yourself from a box mix.. Major oof. (Delivered Fresh Daily) more like delivered FROZEN and OLD.
I don't know about the downfall of the show, but the cakes were atrocious. I was so excited and stood in line when they opened in Dallas. I was severely disappointed. Nothing was good. I tried going back twice more. The strawberry shortcake was good one time horrible the next. Making the same mistake three times was more than enough. Never went back. I don't know anyone who went more than once other than myself. I love to the show and I was disappointed that I tried was so subpar. It actually tasted very similar to Walmart. Walmart is fine if you're paying Walmart prices.
The corporation turned greedy and slapped his name on any vending machine, casual eatery and outlet they could. They just print money for the operator that licenses his name and buddy vs corporate operations with little thought to the end product or the customer.
So I used to go to Carlos bakery when I was little back in the 90s before he was famous and the cakes were actually pretty good. After the show came out they raised the prices and the quality went down the drain. Also the lines were never out the door like they were after the show aired, sure it had people waiting but not like it got when the show was on.
I have been using the Cake Boss cake program for the last 9yrs in my cottage bakery. .had no idea there was a Controversy between those 2...interesting.
Let's be real. His cakes are OUTDATED and look like cakes you can by at Safeway. 😒Bakeries have gotten much more creative now that sugar flowers and fondant.
The cake for sale outside of the bakery - supermarket, vendors, etc.-doesn’t taste very good. Perhaps it tastes better fresh from his bakery. I love watching the show and the reruns. The cakes are works of art and I enjoy seeing how they are made and decorated.
It’s groose to see so many of his staff not needing to wear hairnets when baking and decorating the cakes they are working on. I cannot imagine eating any cake with so many people handling the cakes without gloves on. That is just so unhygienic.

I liked watching Cake Boss until they started making cakes with more wood and pvc pipe than cake. I lost interest.
Im all about the taste of a fine cake, I couldn’t care less about how fancy it looks.

I know a guy that have been to Carlos's baker. He complained about everything he tried, saying it was all way overpriced and not really good at all.
