If you meet my 11th great grandfather a you tell him tomorrow stop impregnating Italian servant girls, it’s making my 9th grand nephews task impossible to re-assimilate my DNA.
The reasons why it's unfit for either of these is because it's fake, computer-generated, and innaccurate. It's fun for us as viewers to watch, but we are learning nothing from it.
Difficult. That would add a fake component to our already heavily filtered and ultimately incomplete historical “knowledge”. On the other hand, we all know those documentaries in which historical events are portrayed by actors. In any case, we should avoid letting our young people think that omniscient AI can give us an exactly accurate picture of history. Greetings from Germany!🇩🇪🤝
@Gamba_with_Cigarette or could it be that more symmetrical and defined features we find attractive are simply easier for the a.i to compute. I'd imagine a stranger looking person with more unique asymmetries and strange head shapes would be harder to arrange than the standard views of beauty given there's more imperfections to articulate
Even when the resemblance is extraordinary, the difference between a painted likeness and a 3D representation is like day and night. Thank you for making some fascinating historical people seem real again, I'm sure they would love it.
probably because the painting are also stylized and sanitized . Also they are the elite so they have access to beautification products and services. They are the equivalent of Hollywood stars of that time as they are the elite and famous.
I enjoyed the entire video; we need more like it. The music was perfectly suited for the video, though it evoked a melancholic feeling. This feeling is commonly known as post-series depression or post-movie depression syndrome, which is a sense of sadness, emptiness, or grief that people may feel after concluding a movie, TV series, or book in which they were deeply engrossed. The emotional impact of a story can be heightened by melancholic music or poignant scenes that highlight the characters' fates after pivotal events. It's a common emotional response as audiences form deep connections with the characters and the narrative, making it difficult to part with the story upon its conclusion. Although I realize stories cannot continue indefinitely, I often struggle with their endings. This is just who I am; it was difficult to bid farewell to the "Lost" TV series, and it's why I repeatedly watch the original "Dark Shadows" TV series whenever possible.
Truly outstanding work, and very lifelike. AI has come a long way in the last few years, but it takes someone with aesthetic awareness to produce this kind of art. Thank you!
When replicating portraits, we need to remember they didn't have cosmetics in common use until the 1600s, and then, mostly in the French court. Elizabeth I wore makeup to cover her smallpox scars, but it wasn't used by members of her court.
Close enough. All this complaining, it’s kind of frustrating. So what if it’s not perfectly accurate. The fact that this is even possible is a gift in itself. Of course AI isn’t perfectly accurate. It’s AI. And I’ve learned that the more details you try to use, the more the AI messes up.
Artists historically followed popular trends in schools of painting by more prominent artists in different countries depending on which one was most popular at the time. Artists also depicted their subjects according to their personal perspective and not as they actually were. That's why portraits painted by diffrrent artists at different time periods can look very different
Doesn’t take into account for skin shade, pimples, uneven skin colouration, or other imperfections that would be present but the painter politely left out. Most of the women painted in ancient times were teenagers. And a painter who wanted favour would flatter his subject.

Please please do Lettice Knollys, Countess of Essex and Elizabeth the 1st’s hated love rival and also Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, the man they fell-out over.
Elizabeth Báthory, also known as the 'Blood Countess,' is a figure enveloped in a mix of historical fact and myth. The charges against her are serious, but it's vital to examine the context and the available evidence, or its absence, that surrounds her story. First, many testimonies against her were extracted under torture, which casts doubt on their veracity. Furthermore, there was no solid physical evidence to directly connect her to the purported crimes. The political environment of the era is also key. As a wealthy and influential noblewoman, Báthory was vulnerable to attacks from political adversaries who could benefit from her misfortune. Some scholars suggest that the charges were the result of a politically charged defamation campaign. Additionally, the trial was notably unconventional, with Báthory being denied essential legal rights, including the use of torture to force confessions from her servants. Recent scholarly work has added layers of complexity to her story, indicating that many tales about Báthory, like her alleged virgin blood baths, are more mythic than factual. These considerations don't exonerate her but offer a more layered perspective on her case. Distinguishing between the established facts and the myths is crucial, taking into account the wider historical and political milieu.
Elizabeth Bathory was probably wrongfully accused. She was a wealthy land-owner who refused to give up her land to men who wanted it, so they found a way to take it from her.
@@helbraheals I knew I would find "women did not do evil things; it was men's fault' comments like yours regarding Bethory, as women in the comment section always do about historical women. Anyone that's against ai should see this. We can bring history to life and make it relatable. I know people will say 'Why not get actors to play them in videos". Not everyone can afford actors or accurate costumes. This can be a great teaching tool for students.
How do we know these women didn’t have zits, uneven skin tone, dark or yellow complexions? Skin is essential for true beauty. No painter who cared about his career wouldn’t flatter his subjects by making them appear better than they were. Queen Elizabeth 1 had horrible small pox scars, yet not one painting shows this. Not much different than the tic toc filters heh ..?
Rather impressive!! Thanks for animating the people too! Can other paintings, say, of battles or other events "come to life"? The music you are using almost sounds like Lantz & Speers!
Why does AI insist on making the women smile but not the men, when most were not smiling in the painting? It feeds the rhetoric that women need to be seen as pleasing and welcoming. Even the serial killer was made to smile at the end!! Women do not have to smile to be acceptable.
Keep in mind it could also be the “prompter” injecting that into the details. Other wise they could make sure they don’t. But paintings often never captured smiles. In reality the real person smiled from time to time.

This is great. Of course it is not perfect and everybody looks a lot better than the probably looked like, but it nevertheless brings them to life and pushes them closer to us today. Although being an artist myself, I always find it hard to relate to painted people (I hope this somehow makes sense). Beautiful music as well, not too distracting.
