Beautiful slabs. The nail was quite interesting to me. Not that it was in the tree, but at its' location. I wonder how many years growth were around it. I use to live in a small town in southern Colorado many years ago as a kid. ( I am now 64) There was a sawmill there, and my dad once bought a 1x8 from them that actually had a lead bullet in it that had gone through all the processes of milling. We actually cut a foot out of the board to save it. Somehow, somewhere it disappeared. 😢
