**UPDATE PLEASE READ** The original plan was to keep all three of these guys in this tank for no more than a year, before upgrading. But after talking to Cory from Aquaroum Co-OP he suggested that I either upgrade right away or keep just one of them since they can be territorial even with each other! I've been keeping a close eye on them to see how they get along before I make the decision. I've also already started feeding them clams and other goodies to make sure their beaks stay nice and trimmed!!! I've been keeping saltwater aquariums for over 10 years so a lot of this is new to me. But I'm excited to learn and thankful I have the resources with this channel to make sure these guys do well. If I do only end up keeping one which one should it be??? Kirby, Firby or Fergy?!
@Easliy Displeased Cory definitely knows what he's talking about. I agree that people get pretty overzealous about tank size, but when it comes to territorial fish you really do need too much space. For example, in a betta tank, if you have two males, each males will carve out a 5 gallon swathe of the tank for themselves, if you have anything less than 10 gallons then they will merge territories and fight to death. With Puffers, these fights end a little more quickly and it's usually because they suck up more food than an jet engine when hungry (all the time) It's near impossible to feed all of them at once, and stop them from looking at another one's plate. Definitely a good idea on this one. I think you should keep Kirby. The name applies!
What you need to do if you are gonna go brackish, is obtain an Australian bullrout. They are almost unheard of outside of here in Australia and are a great venomous predator species to keep. I personally keep them, hell I'll send you one if I have to.
I have three gsp on a 15g for more than two years now. None of them are territorial. Just like yours they arrived at the same time. I feed them every other day and thirty percent water change once a week. I guess not all fish are created the same.
When you said "~cutest thing I have ever seen", I thought you were talking about the fish shop employee guy... and I was like "I totally agree..." but then I realized you were talking about the fish.... which I equally agree that they are the cutest thing ever!
Dude is an absolute beast when it comes to saltwater and identifying saltwater fish and coral, but is pretty clueless when it comes to freshwater. Just another reason I love him
@@ogwmurkin1713 I'm sure he'd love an upgrade but 45 is fine for one. Mine is in a 45 but before was in a 25 and he just tends to pick a patch and swim there for the day lol

Puffer fish have teeth that keep growing as you said, just feed em a bunch of snails. 🐌 Aquarium Co-Op is the puffer fish guru, I’d look up some of his videos for any questions you have. I mean, his videos are pretty long but they’re really informative.
I love your channel, but I see a few things wrong with this video. 1- no research: you got rid of fish and right away went to get new ones. You didn’t do any research. If you had done research you would have seen that they need at least a 30 gallon and are not as aggressive as everyone in this vid says they are 2- trusting a pet store employee: yes Brady seemed knowledgeable, but sometimes pet store employees will make up stories to seem more relatable to the consumer. 3- DO NOT TRIM THEIR BEAKS WITH NAIL CLIPPERS: feed them crustaceans and snails. Shrimp, bladder snails, crab, pest snails, etc. This is how they trim their beaks in the wild and doesn’t stress them out at all. MORAL OF THE STORY: do your own research before getting your pets and don’t rush into getting a pet.
I wouldn’t be worried about these being in this tank until they break out of adolescence (which they are far from) they are the size of a golf ball and will take at least 3 years to hit adulthood (which is the minimum tank size of 35 gallon)
