    50kwh and 150hp for £40k is sh!te… I suspect they don’t actually want to sell any, and they’ve just added them to the line up to lower the average emissions of their range.

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland

      Thanks for the comment. Is the emissions not down to actual sales and not just model availability?

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland I’m not sure, but it won’t matter provided they can convince a few of the bigger company car contracts to take some on… Or give them staff as company cars like Aston Martin did with the cygnet.

    What you reckon the price in Ireland will be from? Ball park figure? It a pity the government has done away with the grant. EVs are too expensive for most people, considering I like most would probably move away from petrol and diesel.More people would buy them if more affordable. It a no brainier i wish the government with get this!

    Aftermarket price with model 3, I bet you get lot more back with Tesla.
    And easier to find a new owner.
    I like the sporty Camaro style front, and fast looking rear design, but the dimensions of the car itself is not sporty enough to meet the rest of the design.
    Still, not quite enough to ship my money.

    As I drive an e208 (same car underneath) it’s nice to see the updates to the battery and other tech but the price? Just way too much for what is basically a Super-Mini. All makers really need to get these down to £30k (35k Euros) for the top spec cars to get better take up. My e208 is a company car so I don’t own it and won’t be buying any new EV with my own money at these prices.
    Saying that in UK used prices for EV’s have slumped so a 2 year old car for less than 50% new is possible now - that’s a lot more tempting.

    Nice car good review.... There's a lot of talk about fast charging, the problem is fast charging is very expensive I used the wee charge (we have a vw id4) in athlone and put in 20kwh it cost e14. 86... (it did charge very fast) ... But With fast charging costing that much... diesel is cheaper.. The only way electric is cheap is home charging and even that has doubled since we bought our vw which is a 222.

      You may think 308 is better if you want, but based on technical facts it's not so. The 308 is a worse design because:
      1. The front is very conventional with a huge grill like so many others.
      2. There is no front bumper - behind the emblem is the radar sensor and a camera, the slightest bump and it gets damaged...
      3. Reverse lights and rear fog lights are regular old-fashioned light bulbs...
      4. 308 is not available with fog lights.
      5 Fake exhaust design.
      6. Not very sophisticated opening of the boot hatch.
      7. Astra has vertical brake light, innovative, 308 old plain conventional.
      8. The stern seen from the side consists of a variety of lines in all directions where none harmonize particularly well with any other.

    • @francisdoran971
      @francisdoran971 9 месяцев назад

      @@Djeseret One advantage of good old-fashioned lightbulbs is they don't cost a fortune to replace.
      I'm reading about LED headlights costing upwards of €1500 to replace.

    • @Djeseret
      @Djeseret 9 месяцев назад

      @@francisdoran971 Yes, regular standard LED headlights aren't a dramatic improvement over regular old headlights, but the advanced Matrix headlights are, as they can save your life... so the cost may be something you're willing to take... and risk to these expensive ones to be crushed are therefore significantly... less in Opel than in Peugeot, which insists on not having any protection in the design of its cars.
      Then there was the rear reverse lights and fog lights, which on the Peugeot are placed very dangerously at the bottom of the corners of the bumper, where the risk of them being damaged in small parking accidents is very high, while the Astra has no lights in these exposed places and the Reverse lights are not there at all.
      Thus, Peugeot's design is more vulnerable to small accidents with subsequent higher costs as a consequence both front and rear.

    I think it is a mistake not to start with the sport tourer. That is the one most potential buyers are waiting for. The ordinary body type tested here also has a lot more competitors. What I would like to buy is an electric small traditional kombi from a classic car maker. Is there any other than the upcoming electric Opel Astra Sports Tourer?
