Completely agree with your points! Decided to go through the process despite fears of moving away from my comfort zone. How did you overcome fear of leaving and starting a new life? 😊

My starting point is always the end of my life. I imagine myself looking back and thinking: What are the things that I would regret?
The answer is: I would regret not taking the chance (even the risk) of starting a better life. I would regret just staying put and let life pass me by. That fear is greater than the fear of leaving. Remembering that life is finite always gives me a boost to get moving!

When I came to Canada decades ago, it was so easy to come. All these rules and regulations did not exist. They were begging for people to come. My application was approved in a few months with a nine month deadline. I applied in January and I had to be in the country by September as a landed immigrant. It is much harder now. And in those days, computers did not exist for the office staff or people.

It is indeed more difficult these days, there's also much more competition!

we still need to have ielts/celph certificate before we are able to create an EE profile isn’t it? I think one of the pre-requisition is the date you took the english certificate

You were born or raised in Germany? What's wrong with a German citizenship?

I was born and raised there, but didn't stay long enough to get permanent residence/citizenship!

Why didn't you apply for PR in Germany?

    • @LivinginCanada

Back then it was much more difficult, and also, I left Germany due to personal reasons.

You can submit your Express Entry profile (if you're applying through that route!) on www.canada.ca, look for 'submit your express entry profile'. Prior to that, you can use the 'CRS tool', if you want to get an estimation of your score first. Hope that helps!
