I'm experiencing hairloss. I am on finasteride and minoxidil now. I also microneedle once a week or so which I was skeptical about, but it really helps. For me the hairloss was so gradual and subtle that I honestly didn't notice for about the first 5 years when it really started happening. By the time I was really aware of the problem, it took me a few years before I was comfortable doing something about it. I've had the same barber for 15 years and in hindsight he has gently nudged me towards cuts like this over the years avoiding the direct discussion of balding until I brought it up. I probably would have been taken aback at first, but I really wish he would have straight up told me I was thinning/balding about ten years ago. I could have started medical treatment earlier when I was younger and it would have been more effective. So many men don't notice or assume they're reaching a "mature" hairline, which is of course a euphemism for the initial stages of hair loss when it's most treatable by minoxidil and finasteride.
By far the hardest thing I've had to go through. People laugh and say you're exaggerating but the impact it had on me was huge. Seeing this kid brings it all back. Trust the process brother.
Appreciate you sharing! Honestly, this series is just about talking about it! Angelo and all the other guys who you’ll see in the later episodes were amazing for sharing their stories!

I’d love to be in his chair one day ❤
This poor fella. Must be hard having this happen at a young age however i can offer some advice for him. He definitely seems like he can grow a full thick beard. Id def have him grow it for 2-3 months. I think it’ll compliment him very well.

You are incredibly kind. This is what men (people) need today. Kindness, caring, expertise, assistance, education and remedy. That haircut is fantastic. It's just a work if art. Thank you for sharing your God given talent. ❤❤
As a barber, Dan didn't say anything out of place here as always. He did exactly what I would've done and executed it probably better than I would've. Nice job Dan! To this gentleman, a suggestion I could make is growing out your beard juuuussttt a little and keeping it shorter. You wanna get it to the length to where it would look the same thickness as the top of your head so there isn't any contrast in color. If it's done properly, it'll add to the illusion that your hair is thicker as well. Excited for this series!

I am in my mid 60's and when I was 21 it happened to me. Nothing you can do. Thanks for helping this young lad by talking with him. It must of bothered him and nothing worse when your friends makes jokes about it because it hurts emotionally. Good series. I guess he can try the new medicines but he is way too young for hair transplants. You need to educate these kids about not doing something like that.
The silver lining of balding early, if there is one, is that you appear to age more slowly, since you already look older. The same goes for people who go gray prematurely. For example, Steve Martin has looked the same for the past 50 years.
Amazing transformation - not only did the haircut make Angelo look real good, you could tell that he felt the difference ... his whole posture and expression had changed by the end! From a guy resigned to his fate to self confident. So good to see!

Great cut! If that boy added fibers and/or scalp micropigmentation it would look even better. Most of us men are (or will) lose hair at some point but we can alway work with it. Brave young man 👏🏼
how we still not have a real treatment or cure for hair loss is beyond me. My hair loss started at around the same time, shaved it all at 22. Sucks really not to have the option of trying all these cool haircuts I see on here
An amazing difference. I feel for the guy. I started losing my hair at 18 too and for around a year, it got gradually worse. I started finasteride at 19 and saw great regrowth. A few years later, added in minox foam once a day. I'm now 43 and still have a good head of hair - just a mature hairline. There are things that you can do, but if you want to just accept it and rock a buzz cut, that's cool too ❤
@@boblully5053 for me, yes. Back then finasteride was tricky to get hold of and not cheap. Now it's super easy and super cheap. My density and hairline haven't changed since I started taking it. Nearly 25 years now. My advice to anyone... start as early as possible.
Great lad! it’s your friends and work colleagues that when pointed out make it worse. Like a guy at my work said it once to often and sorta bit back by saying I’m not shaving my head. I’m a little light in the crown and my hairs fine. Worst thing I’d say is the rain, always got a hat in my pocket these days. I feel better after a cut even though I feel it shows it more it’s less hassle as it’s not getting messy while long. May do a transplant but we will see
You are showing a lot of transformations with longer Hair, but I really must say this is a enormous and beautifull transformation too!!! He looks so much prettier and cooler then before! What a beautifull change! I really had to trust the proces though, in the beginning I was really asking myself ‘ what can you do with his Hair???’ But Bravo!!!👍👏 also for the respectfull treatment! Greetz from Holland!
Awesome job! That was the perfect suggestion for Angelo. That haircut truly improved his appearance by reducing the contrast between the fuller/darker hair on the sides and back and as a result made him look more his age.
That transformation was amazing. It doesn't even look like he's losing his hair. While it's possible this is just standard MPB, when you experience hair loss this aggressive this young you should get tested for other potential illnesses. My friend had a thick blood disease, lost his hair at around the same age and had a serious stroke in his early 40s. Sometimes our nails, hair, and tongues can give us early clues about health issues.
I was literally the same as this guy. I was losing my hair aged 17 in the UK sixth form. I was devastated and it really affected me. Especially as I had such thick lush hair growing up. Getting the right cut helps enormously, but using hair loss treatment lotion and drugs, my hair is pretty good now and much thicker. Either way, you do come to terms with it, especially as future partners actually don’t care.
I don’t think people realize how depressing it can be. I’ve been battling with hair loss for years even went through a suicidal phase. Idk what I’m going to do when I eventually end up bald.
@@Benjorunnerbalding .. maybe, but bald with a beard is probably the epitome of masculine aesthetic. It’s a clear contrast of no hair and lots of hair.. and crucially, sexually dimorphic - the opposite of women. Who have hairless faces and lots of head hair. It’s quintessentially manly. And thus attractive to them too.
Nice haircut Dan. Using the potential of his current hair desity and giving the best possible look. Also, being supportive, understaning and giving good advice is always great to see. In my humble opinion Angelo could also give regular hair powder a try with his current hair style. A touch of the powder could visually slightly improve hair density and volume (without trying to hide anything), and maybe he could style it a bit. Also works wonders if the hair oils up easily. On the other hand if he changes his mind he could have a talk with a trichologist and maybe try 5 % minoxidil for 6 months and see how it goes. This comes from someone who is currently in his 20's and is dealing with hair loss for 8 years now. Good for him if he isn't bothered by it that much. Stay positive Angelo and as far as hair goes work with what you've got.
I just love this series. You are a fantastic artist and human being. This guy is so handsome and the cut looks great. It looks intentional and stylish. ❤
Fab content as always. Thinning has had a huge impact on my confidence. I would have gone down the Hair transplant route but due to my health status, it just wouldn't be suitable for me. I would love to be part of the Talking Hair Loss series if its still possible.
You did a great job on his hair! I was wondering, at first, but at the end it all came together. Thought that you'd use some product in his hair. Why did you decide not to do this?
Dan used the daily shampoo that stimulates the hair follicle and instructed him how to wash it but no other products. It might have been the wrong moment, since he would needed to explain each one.
I was lucky enough that at 18 i hopped on minoxidil and even grew back what i had lost. Now 31 and still full head of hair. My parents thought i was going crazy at 18 that it was"all in my head". Glad i didnt listen to them.
Funny that this video just showed up. My hair must've been thinning for a while now (24), and only really noticed it about 1 or 2 months ago. We'll see how things go down the line!
To all young men who have hardly or any hair loss: take the preventative measures. Think of it like brushing your teeth: you don't wait until your teeth are rotting to start brushing? Same with hair: don't wait. Finistride stops hair loss in almost all men and in 60% of men, regrows hair. Minoxidil stop it in 3/4 of men, and regrows in half. Together, you get no hair loss and for those rhat are in the early stages of hair loss, regrowth. I bet all of these young men would give an arm to go back to when they had no hair loss and take the precention measures. But that's being human: we tend to not take measures against a problem until it's happened.
Looks amazing. On first glance I wouldn't think he was losing his hair. When a woman looks at a guy it's not just about the hair. Does he have nice eyes, a nice smile? Dimples. Yes, I noticed. Even the ears. Personality. It's about the whole package.
Greetings from America 🇺🇸👍🏼. Get on Propecia and Minoxidil asap - the earlier and sooner the better. I’m on both and it’s helping - I’m still going to go to Turkey to get my teeth done and hair as well.
This guy has a lot going for him, beautiful lips, long shaped eyes with thick lashes, dimples, perfectly shaped head…he is lush! Great haircut by the best barber!
What’s surprising is there’s not a lot of things to cure hair loss , besides a hair graft/transplant (whatever it’s called). I keep hearing about the company keeps , idk if that works. It must be really hard to lose your hair , especially if you’re as young as 18-19. I’ve been spared by the hair gods, but lol have loads of other problems to overcome.
Bald look is never IN it's a matter of not having a weird head shape or being overbearingly ugly. On top of that you need to be muscular to pull of bald to be masculine and you need a thick neck, take my pic for example it's an old pic from when i had like a 14inch neck.. now it's 16 I'm still ugly but i look more masculine which keep me in the normal territory over the creep territory. A high fade is a good way to manage a receding hairline like me per say cause im not bald just vegeta..if you lose a lot in the middle just shave it don't be ridiculous
I know they can be overdone, but do you ever use keratin hair fibers on cuts like this to create the illusion of more thickness on the top? As someone experiencing hairloss myself, I sometimes use hair fibers. I do have a bit more hair on the top than this gentleman and I try not to overdo them. For instance, I'm not attempting to create a hairline with them. I just find they reduce the amount of reflected light off the top of my scalp on a sunny day or bright light when that's more noticeable.
Hair regrowth protocol: Sunday - microneedle problem areas at 1.5mm, Monday - iRestore redlight helmet, Tuesday - minoxidil, Wednesday - nothing, Thursday - minoxidil, Friday - iRestore redlight helmet, Saturday - minoxidil, Sunday - start process over. YOU'LL BE SHOCKED AT WHAT YOU SEE IN SIX MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does MANUAL also make the hair fibers? I was kind of surprised you didn’t introduce him to hair fibers. Another guy you did had hair just like this kid but he used hair fibers and it looked great! I’m referring to the guy that was using the brown fibers but you showed him that the blonde fibers matched much better. Too bad these kids don’t know to start treatment early.
I believe that in 10 years time we will have a greater understanding of why men have MPB, there has already been some amazing studies and papers on very possible causes and ways to reverse it for +50% of people! One study has showed same patterns of strained muscles in the spots where people would loose hair, the muscles being always contracted unknowingly caused minor inflamation in the scalp which is a cause for the body to produce DHT in that area. If you are going through hairloss you should look into it, it can be treated by daily massages or "lip filler" injections around the scalp to relax the muscles!
I had hoped these men would have been assured that balding and bald are NOT bad things. What makes a man attractive is his attitude and confidence. Bald men can be sexy AF, if only they knew it!

Hair transplant! By far best thing you’ll ever do for yourself. 🤟🏻 doing my second tomorrow!
How did it go? I’m doing my first one in three days 😊 you saying it’s the best thing we could do for ourselves has me hyped
Awesome job! That was the perfect suggestion for Angelo. That haircut truly improved his appearance by reducing the contrast between the fuller/darker hair on the sides and back and as a result made him look more his age.
Excellent job to the both of you!
Love this initiative! What a great start!
Very grateful to everyone that came in to get a cut and advice! Hope we can talk about it more openly!
His hair looks great and so
much thicker!
What kind of products you use bro
@@jeremywright7832Yo, there’s a derma roller, midoxnil for growth and finasteride for maintaining it
@@jeremywright7832mini oxide 5%
Bro looks much more confident now. Beautiful work.
This barber works miracles!
I don’t think people realize how depressing it can be. I’ve been battling with hair loss for years even went through a suicidal phase. Idk what I’m going to do when I eventually end up bald.
Your Scissors over comb is best in the business
It seems that this dude could grow a massive beard. Thats the route he should go to, beard balances nicely the lack of hair.
to be honest to me it always looks a bit weird, balding guys with those big beards, but that's personal taste I guess.
18 is just too young to have beard…
@@Benjorunnerdoesnt need to be a big beard. Even some shadow can do wonders. When I used to shave my head I looked so much better with a beard.
@@김김-e4w3oI had a pretty decent beard at 18
This guy seems like a nice lad, I hope he’s doing alright now. Hope he got on the medication and saves up for a transplant, keep going mate
You blessed that man, it wasn't an easy task to do
Changed that man’s life 🔥💯
Nice haircut Dan.
Tbh being bald would fit this guy amazingly, there is no reason to worry
Great job! The client looks so happy with the results...😊
I just love this series. You are a fantastic artist and human being. This guy is so handsome and the cut looks great. It looks intentional and stylish. ❤
What a great barber 😍
Fab content as always. Thinning has had a huge impact on my confidence. I would have gone down the Hair transplant route but due to my health status, it just wouldn't be suitable for me. I would love to be part of the Talking Hair Loss series if its still possible.
Fantastic. Looks really handsome. Very clever cut. Fab
Best haircut you've ever given 🙂 now he's a handsome lad
You did a great job on his hair! I was wondering, at first, but at the end it all came together. Thought that you'd use some product in his hair. Why did you decide not to do this?
Dan used the daily shampoo that stimulates the hair follicle and instructed him how to wash it but no other products. It might have been the wrong moment, since he would needed to explain each one.
the stylist is a class act in how he goes about his profession and also talking to the clients
Great tutorial 😎
I was lucky enough that at 18 i hopped on minoxidil and even grew back what i had lost. Now 31 and still full head of hair. My parents thought i was going crazy at 18 that it was"all in my head". Glad i didnt listen to them.
Minoxidil really works ??
He better have bought some products, i believe he can have a good recovery if he tries
I’m in total agreement with you on this.
How was your personal experience? Did you take the preventative measures or not?
Brilliant job as always. Brave young man whom looks fantastic xx
Nice job. It looked so much thinner BEFORE he cut it
Master of his craft! Attention to detail is spot on! Fantastic hair specialist! 👍🏼
Can u do a video on the clippers and equipment u recommend or not recommend? Maybe show us what u use?
Looks amazing. On first glance I wouldn't think he was losing his hair.
When a woman looks at a guy it's not just about the hair. Does he have nice eyes, a nice smile? Dimples. Yes, I noticed. Even the ears. Personality. It's about the whole package.
The end result looks like he didn't even lose his hair. Great work mab
Thankful for my hair
What’s surprising is there’s not a lot of things to cure hair loss , besides a hair graft/transplant (whatever it’s called). I keep hearing about the company keeps , idk if that works. It must be really hard to lose your hair , especially if you’re as young as 18-19. I’ve been spared by the hair gods, but lol have loads of other problems to overcome.
Finasteride and dutasteride is the only thing that will work long term
Going to study rocket science!! Great future ahead of this young man…who needs hair? You did a nice job Dan!👌🏻💥👌🏻
Emotional in the face of such stylist talent and how good the guy looks🥹
Not that the look is for everyone, but a lot of folks losing hair are lucky to live in a time where the bald look is "in". Nice job.
@@fotis3v480Dude you ain’t ugly man
I know they can be overdone, but do you ever use keratin hair fibers on cuts like this to create the illusion of more thickness on the top? As someone experiencing hairloss myself, I sometimes use hair fibers. I do have a bit more hair on the top than this gentleman and I try not to overdo them. For instance, I'm not attempting to create a hairline with them. I just find they reduce the amount of reflected light off the top of my scalp on a sunny day or bright light when that's more noticeable.
Use the one sold by Tomb45 it lasts longer ...just spray or apply with a little brush then brush with a bigger brush to create a natural look
Dutasteride and oral monoxidil 7 days a week for 8 months. Problem over. After 1,5 year hair transplant and done. Personal expetience 😜
What a great series ! Keep this up
Dan's the man
This kid needs an honest sit down, to gain confidence over his reality. You just made him look daft!
You can tell how sad he feels
Does MANUAL also make the hair fibers? I was kind of surprised you didn’t introduce him to hair fibers. Another guy you did had hair just like this kid but he used hair fibers and it looked great! I’m referring to the guy that was using the brown fibers but you showed him that the blonde fibers matched much better. Too bad these kids don’t know to start treatment early.
New video on a wednesday is a true gift
I believe that in 10 years time we will have a greater understanding of why men have MPB, there has already been some amazing studies and papers on very possible causes and ways to reverse it for +50% of people! One study has showed same patterns of strained muscles in the spots where people would loose hair, the muscles being always contracted unknowingly caused minor inflamation in the scalp which is a cause for the body to produce DHT in that area. If you are going through hairloss you should look into it, it can be treated by daily massages or "lip filler" injections around the scalp to relax the muscles!
Just because you don't look like Brad Pitt doesn't mean you don't want to look presentable and sharp. Great shape ups
I'm sure there's loads of things you can do to help hair loss.. I do also think this dude would also rock a shaved head and a beard. 🤟
I had hoped these men would have been assured that balding and bald are NOT bad things. What makes a man attractive is his attitude and confidence. Bald men can be sexy AF, if only they knew it!
most dudes that’s have thinning hair, as long as they grow their beard out, it 9/10 times looks actually good.
Amazing job on this young man's hair. You really do the job!!!
