I used to machine these cast aluminum housings for a small aerospace company named ERDA in Peshtigo, Wisconsin. We did thousands of the machining of these castings. Heck I still have one of the tools we used to deburr the inside after boring it on a lathe. Then it went on to a VMC with a rotary that we would machine the snorkel and bore and outside face and o-ring groove doing three at a time. Think the company was called Falco. I even remember on time two 4'x4'x4' boxes of these castings came in all stained. I got to haul them to another shop for beed blasting in the back of my 1978 F150. Pretty cool to finally see where all those parts we made ended up.
Good video, this helps a little. My 96GT has oil in the coolant reservoir, most likely from the oil cooler. Does anyone know which part has failed and what I need to replace?
hey man thanks for the video. I have a small oil leak on my 98 Cobra and I can't figure out where it's coming from - just notice things are wet down in that area but not necessarily on the oil cooler. How'd you diagnose this as the culprit?
There was longtime buildup of oil all over the steering rach and oil cooler area when I bought the car. So when I went to address this I was just going to replace all the gaskets in that area. That's when I discovered the tiny o ring in the cooler was cooked. Dry and clean ever since I made the video.
yooo finally replacing this and the o-ring on the shaft keeps breaking when inserting it into the housing. I used silicone paste and still breaks. Just ordered a kit from LMR and they include 2 small shaft o-rings bc they're so prone to breaking. Any tips on how to insert it safely?
Huge help indeed. I have a 98 cobra that I over tightened the oil psi sending unit on thereby cracking the female end of adapter housing. I haven't pulled mine off the car yet so if you happen to have the adapter housing part number that would be huge so I can get it ordered? Thanks in advance.
Can I remove the shaft and pull the piece off to replace the o rings… without taking the bolts off to replace the housing gasket. Or do I have to remove all the 4 bolts
The manufacturer number is SV10044 And here's a fresh link www.ebay.com/itm/1996-2004-Ford-Mustang-SVT-Cobra-Oil-Cooler-O-Ring-Rebuild-Kit-4V-2V-GT-Mach-1/163710219593?fits=Model%3AMustang%7CMake%3AFord&hash=item261de3b549:g:3DUAAOSwdPBbsUZc
Thx 4 video I have a 1997 Mustang 3.8 v6 as soon as I start the ignition oil starts leaking from either the oil pressure switch/sending unit or the oil cooler? Has anyone had this problem? If so what was it? Really need help as I can't move car I put 4 qts of oil in it. I'm leaking coolant and oil. My water pump prob bad can't find the leak either. Help!
The o ring on the shaft is where the weep originates, not the o rings inside the device itself. If the innards on your cooler are toast just source one from a junk yard, install an aftermarket cooler, or just delete it altogether. I would also like to see a video of the inside of the cooler. You should make one and if you do comment the link for it on this video. I'd love to see it.

Kroil, marvel mystery oil, gun oil, anything along those lines.

same - did you figure this out?
Can o ring being bad cause oil to push in reservoir
Yup that’s how you know the parts bad

Yeah, you probably should be able to

Do you know where or what coolant hose I can use to delete it? My cooler itself is shot and also if I need a special adapter to do so?
Terrible video. Quit calling people Nazi.

Very very little hole at bottom of oil cooler very dificul to see it but is there
No one explains how to get that tricky bolt out
I had to use a universal joint on the end of an extension.
No big deal 😂😂😂
He can't even pronounce radiator.
