I ate their last week. No one in our group liked the pizza, must less a 8.7. I think the owner and locals put too much pressure on him. Maybe he had too much to drink?
You can tell just by looking at that pizza how much work and love that dude has put into creating it. Monster score, wasn't expecting to see Arkansas on the map like that!
He's been making this pizza for 9 years now. It's been this amazing since day 1!

I got in my car and drove from Colorado to Hot Springs to try the pizza and it was absolutely fantastic! Definitely the best crust I've ever had!
Got there 5 days later and they had sold out of pizza so I had to reserve one for the next day!
I had it last week. The crust wasn't bad if you like burnt, but everything on top was meh.

Same here @ColoradoSoundboy. Drove from Kansas City to try it and it delivered the score Dave gave it.
Dave's 8.7 is basically "You're one of the greatest of all time but there are a few that are better. Out of 1000 pizza places you would be in the top 30-50 easily."

God knows Anthony deserved that score. That is such good pizza. That guy has had a real struggle and a lot of good back story. He is blessed with a lot of good friends here in town.
this def is my favorite review .. had the boozed up loud crowd , the lovely story from the chef and brought it all together with the great score.. just perfect!

Yeah I lived there, it's a vacation hub of the south and party town. Big horse racing track and casino there too and a great national park. I worked for the convention center there as an AV/Tech. Miss it.
Dave digesting and calculating while Maneater plays on the backround. Almost like poetic. Big score and what a guy that owner, so full of energy. Put this in the Top-5 episodes easily.

I am turning 40 today, generally first thing I do when I wake up is watch a Pizza review as it I feel brings some positivity into the world. What you guys do for small business owners is amazing and you guys deserve to be truly blessed.
8.7 review is a good omen for me to start my next decade. Thanks for the work you doing and when we in the states we planning to go try all these pizza’s that scored 8 and up.

Had some time off work so I drove 1000 miles to try the pizza and check out Hot Springs. I'm from Colorado, so Hot Springs was ok, but the pizza was worth the trip!
Was waiting for this review cause I saw a teaser 2 days ago.

the team: young an energetic
The owner: full of passion, energy and has a unique backstory
Dave: eats the whole big slice and pronounces the name correctly

@@bfoz you clearly havent been here that long. You could hear the crowd begging for an 8.4 because they know how high of a score an 8.0 is. 8.7 is like a picasso, you rarely see a score anywhere near the high 8's ever.

From the looks and the sounds of it, the pizza didn't need a boost. That was a legit score. If anything, I thought it might have been a bit higher

Edit: They've already updated their menus with Dave's score and Barstool logo lol Anthony walked the tables and greeted people as much as he cooked, awesome guy. The GM Heather was running the bar and was as nice as could be. They also have the best burger I've had in quite some time. Phenomenal place all around. Just make sure you show up at opening

Ate there last night for the first time on vacation with some friends who said it was the best pizza they’ve had.
I 💯 AGREE!!! It was the best pizza I’d ever had in my life- totally worth the 45 min wait.
Make sure you reserve multiple pizzas because they sell out and if you don’t want to wait as long, I’d suggest maybe go around 8:15- kitchen closes at 9 I think.

There's thousands of folks just in that area of arkansas that haven't eve tried it yet, arkansasns are extremely slow on the uptake including local stuff
@dannytv Hot Springs is really close to Little Rock, the biggest city in Arkansas. Plenty of people are about to drive to get this pizza.
The score carries weight and the pizza does, too.
That's one of the best looking pizzas I've seen in the years of watching these. Congrats! Hope they thrive.

One of the cooler reviews. Love seeing these owners getting pumped for a big score and you know looking at that pizza it was legit. Looked exactly like the one in NY that he gave like a 9.3 that one time and you have to wait hours for.

Just got back and it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had! Owner came up and talked to us. Amazing food, music, and atmosphere! Will be back for sure. I’m a 3 hour drive away and it’s WORTH IT
Everything Dave loves about a pizza, including the story...Dave starts his franchise.
Went yesterday. Great pizza obviously but the whole staff is equally a great. Anthony works the front of house like a absolute pro and the wait staff is just a great. Really great to have this in AR.
Little side note, the tornados we got last week unfortunately took out the Delucas they were working on in Little Rock. Apparently the staff had to take cover in the walk-ins and had they not it could have been really bad. Hopefully they'll get it built back soon.
Pizza looked AMAZING!
The music was perfect in so many ways... first song “down on the corner, out on the street” as they step out of the restaurant.
Maneater then takes over as he starts the review of the pizza... then as they pan the crowd “woman is wild” plays a split second before the crowd goes wild... Maneater hook hits perfectly as he bites... then both just as he says the first words and the score he nails the breaks in the vocals.
As an old radio guy who grew up on Hall n Oates this was simply epic on so many levels!!

Aint it something that the guys that didnt make pizza for a living, just up and decided to do it one day with a little bit of a passion and goal, and these special guys turn out to make some of the best pizza nation wide. I refer to Brooklyn's Lucali pizza by pizza aioli Mark Iacono

I live in Hot Springs. It's for sure good pizza, but it is SO expensive. The last time I got one, it was over 30$ for one pie, and it felt like it had zero weight to it. It's very tasty, but I felt the 30+ dollar pizza was worth closer to 20.They do try to use local ingredients, so I'm sure that's a big part of the pricing, which I get. I guess if money isn't ever an issue, it's the place to go. You should likely try it if you come to town though, just be prepared to spend a lot.

this is why we watch... to see these places! Hot springs is a really great spot, such a cool place and the whole town is technically a national park.

Crazy side note. The best burger in hot springs is there too. One of the other restaurant owners made him made (ohio club) and Deluca's started making a burger and its really good. cast iron skillet and meat, cheese and some really good pickles.
