Thank you guys so much for reviewing J. H. Cutter! So glad you liked it.
Additional kudos for nailing the pronunciation of my last name despite the misspelling (there's no 'j' there, just "Shulepov"). Cheers!!

The older style Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit was quite well done. I need to try the newer bottling of this.

I do want to pick up an old bottle of the Kentucky Spirit. Love the plumage bottle.

I do have to thank you for introducing me to Monkey Shoulder. It's $23 at my local Sam's Club. That's cheap enough to be my "to hell with writer's block; I'm getting this chapter finished" whisky.

It's a shame that Wild Turkey acquired that reputation as a rough, hell raiser bourbon. It's really nice. I appreciate that it's a drier finish product. People who say bourbon is too sweet might like a pour of WT 101.

Just tried WT 101, for the first time, yesterday, and have to say, it is my new favorite bourbon.

I agree on what to review. I've slightly stopped watching new stuff cuz I dont particularly see names I can find or there's too many new names. Perhaps try looking at ways to create a "gift exchange" so we can access new stuff for one another?

Well in the PA Wines & Spirt store the WT Kentucky Spirit is "coming soon" for $65, 101 is $25. The J. H. Cutter is not available. PA LCB needs to hire or train up a Whisk[e]y sommelier. Wonder where one would receive such training?

Is there something slightly off with the audio or is it my speakers? Like I get clipping every now and then.

i just purchased a bottle of this and i love it, the notes that i get are caramel, sugar, bread, black cofee and some kind of fruit i cant put my finger on. i am new to drinking whisky straight most of my life i mixed bourban with coke wether it be makers mark or jack daniels etc, but i have a question for you guys, why are the notes that i taste on this bourban specificly so different to what others have mentioned? will my taste buds adjust as i drink more whiskeys straight? did you guys get the notes i tasted?

Dear Mooch and Somm, I was wondering where I can get a comprehensive list of wine-finished whiskies, or where I can sort through a giant list of whiskies. Any help would be great!

On my recent whiskey adventure I had to make a tough choice in the world of Wild Turkey. I really enjoy the WT 101 and suddenly I found WT Forgiven AND the WT Rare Breed in front of me, what to do. As much as I wanted to buy both I knew Forgiven was a "mistake" so it might be a good deal different from what I am used to. I picked the Rare Breed and was VERY happy with my choice, it is like WT 101 and yet somehow more amazing! Also there was a clear edit at the end... I can only wonder what you two said... o_O

How are Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit and 101 different? Single Barrel is the only difference. When I visited the Distillery I was told they are exactly the same except Kentucky Spirit comes from a Single Barrel...101 is a blend of multiple barrels.

Wild turkey 101 is a blend of different age whiskeys, Kentucky spirit is aged longer

Recently got an older bottle of the kentucky spirit from 2016, to try for the first time, and I loved it.. imo, it rivals Blantons and other bourbons on my favorites list, easily in my top 5 now.. in fact, I went back to store and got the last bottle they had, which was also the older style bottle. Still haven't seen the new bottles anywhere tho, Im from northern Louisiana.

Just had my first Islay whisky, a Laphroaig 10, out of a red Solo cup on the tailgate of my truck and guys I gotta say it's pretty wonderful. I'm excited to try Ardbeg now, but it begs the question for Rex and Daniel: if you put Ardbeg 10 against Laphroaig 10 which would you reach for on a given day?
Edit: forgot to mention it's also my first scotch. Normally just a cheap beer and Jameson guy, I feel like most military dudes are lol

Mentioning barrel specs on a single-barrel expression is always a good thing. Just a recommendation for next time.

With the new format on the volt with direct A B comparisons. I think you should take some time now and again to freeview some past whiskeys and do some comparisons. You know, for science🤣
