"Im not a super hero, im a priest" is one of the coldest lines ever
Accurate too
"And I consecrate tis water to the service of Khomshu...."
When taskmaster tells you he not messing with moon knight that's your cue to be very afraid
For real lol Taskmaster will fight ANYONE ELSE BUT Moon Knight which shows that's the only person the guy fears. I was surprised he told Marc that he was hired to try and kill him but declined the offer
@@SetoShadowVTi believe Deadpool as well, for a similar reason i.e. the unpredictability
I couldn't agree more. If that isn't a ringing endorsement to ones capability I don't know what is. Taskmaster is legit as they come and I've never heard of him turning down a fight.
Lol read my mind here
@@elliothansen2726facts
I like how Taskmaster says that he'll run the ones with Spider Man and Daredevil but outright *refuses* the smoke from Moon Knight. It's literally the "I fear no man, but that thing scares me." meme.
From what I recall, he flat out refuses to even try to copy Moon Knight. Because Moon Knight is beyond mortal, so he can charge straight through damage and still get the job done. If Taskmaster tries to fight like Moon Knight, he dies. He doesn't have a healing factor to keep pace with the complete disregard for conventional survivability. It's why the hollowpoint analogy works so well. Moon Knight often tears himself up in his work. Taking crazy damage is normal to him.
@@bthsr7113 That, plus copying crazy doesnt work.
@@danielboatright8887 Exactly, so this makes 2 guys Taskmaster is afraid to face: Deadpool and now Moon knight.
@@bthsr7113even in that shot of him rescuing those humans, he was pretty tattered… but I never thought of it that way, he gets mangled anytime he’s on the move… absolutely mangled.
@@bthsr7113Reminds me of that Solid JJ video where Moon Knight faces off against Captain America & Black Widow & bodies them with no problem…and then Mr. Fantastic & Johnny Storm pop by. Turns out that imitating a guy with stretching powers and a fire dude is a little more…problematic. 😁
Also, I’m not saying that Taskmaster is a bit of a wuss or anything, but he does tend to favor street level supes with strict codes against killing. Spidey is actually quite capable of dealing with Avengers level threats but he ALWAYS pulls his punches when dealing with squishy villains like Taskmaster…
The way this artist draws Moon knight for this comic makes him look like the most coolest and bad ass character ever. Like a guy who is an elite among the elites. Almost like an untouchable heavenly figure if you will.
The artist is Alessandro Cappuccio. I love his work. I think he has one of the most unique & stylish aproaches I've seen in years from comic artists.
Its almost like moon knight is the most coolest and most badass character ever
@@theworldoverheaven6038He’s not even close
He's also making Taskmaster look real good with the detail on the mask.
I like the reason he wears white is so that his opponent will know he's coming. It's the opposite of Batman who wear black to make his opponent not see him coming.
The entire run has been a blessing. The artwork? Impeccable. The writing? OUTSTANDING.
What run is this? What is the title or volume, I'm very interested and want to know what to ask for the next time I go to store.
@@TheCinemaGentleman Search up “Moonknight (2021)”because that’s when it was started. I think that is the official name for it
That sprinkler spraying holy water scene is copied straight from Constantine the movie featuring Keanu Reeves.
That dagger used by Hunter's Moon and Moon Knight is way more than a dagger, it's a sword called a khopesh. Fun tidbit, the khopesh was an ancient Egyptian sword derived from battle axes.
Except khopesh isn’t anything like a battle-axe, really. It’s exactly like, well, just like a khopesh. I’m not entirely sure what inspired the design. I think it was designed with blade-catching/trapping in mind, but I’m not sure. I can’t think of an analogous weapon from any other culture, tbh.
Where did you hear/read that the khopesh was derived from an axe? I’ll happily eat my words if I’m wrong. I’ve long wondered what inspired the khopesh design. I thought it might have been derived from farming tools like sickles.
Ok nerd. Struggling to find any kind of relevenace.
Tryhards will try hard, i guess.
@@dallasstenswick2783Mf just pointed out of fun point and you're looking for relevance? ☝️🤓
I remember a moment when Taskmaster admits that the reason he doesn't like fighting Moon Knight is because though he can copy anyone's fighting style, Moon Knight doesn't really care if he gets hit, and in fact will use that as an advantage in combat. I literally stood up off my couch when TaskMaster gave Tutor that little hollow point speech, it was so bad ass, and right on point. Moon Knight has really had some awesome moments recently. My favorite being during Devil's Regin when the street level heroes were getting arrested, he took on the Thunderbolts alone for the sole purpose of getting arrested, locating Man Mountain Marko in the depths of the Raft prison, and beating his ass simply to get him to leave his ex wife alone.
after reading the last two issues...Moon Knight gets hit because he believes he deserves it and can take it. Yeah Taskmaster does not want to mess with that kind of mentality
Moon Knight has been lowkey a top 10 book in the Marvel universe. Not many people arw talking about it or buying it, but Jed MacKay is trying to do for Moon Knight what Frank Miller did for Daredevil.
Which book is it? I'm interested in reading it
@@RealEstateBaby Moon Knight (2021). There's 22 issues of the 26 issue run available on Marvel Unlimited.
Absolutely agree I urge everyone to read this run if you haven’t it’s so good and reinventing the character while not deviating from the character completely
Too bad Jed can’t write Ironman to save his lifev
You word good
the writers for Moon Knight are a cut above the rest. This character has dialogue and interactions we just don't get to hear/see anywhere else. Amazing
Because he is not mainstream
@@Miguel-pv6qlit does lend a certain freedom that bigger characters don’t have
I want to correct a few things said in this video that are wrong.
1) The 2 killers weren't dragged into a realm by Khonshu's power. Moon Knight in previous issues hunted down the House of Shadows that is a sentient being that possesses any house or building (its a horror theme thing) that was trapping people inside its "body" and people died. Moon Knight threatened to blow it into Kingdom Come if it tried to "eat" him but instead offered it to become its owner which is what the house wanted. Since his building at the time was destroyed by The Zodiac, the House of Shadows possessed the Midnight Mission. So the shift of reality and place was Moon Knight telling his Monster House to use its abilities to create the horror show he inflicts on the two killers. Let that sink in. Moon Knight now lives inside a Monster House that has reality warping powers to change its insides as it pleases and MK commands it.
2. That is not a dagger that is a Khopesh which is an egyptian a battle axe/sickle sword.
A monster house who can warp reality as his pet. Wow taskmaster was right stay away.
That’s even cooler than it just being a power of konshu
1: nerdddd
2: props for knowing all that, pretty neat info
Moonknight is one of my favorite marvel characters. I remember arguing with friends about how dangerous Moonknight was and my friends being like "who the fuck is Moonknight?". I love that he's been getting his due respect.
😂😂😂 respect?? He's trash bro. He's like C tier on Street level.
He's only cool because he can't die. I think that's awesome.
And I like how he never quits though.
@@raycharles178dope as suit cool backstory huh?
@@raycharles178 cool story
@@raycharles178I think he’s definitely like small town lvl when the moon is full.
Did yall forget when he literally became the strongest at one point becoming the Phoenix and beating all the avengers , low level street or city ....??? Come on man give him more credit then that . Recent moon knight has been at a high tier of power and gaining new powers . I like that they are tapping more into supernatural powers and fear
This is the side of Moon Knight we need for season 2. An experienced Moon Knight just obliterating monsters and villains
Moon Knight finally found the nerd, Dracula😀 Such a wholesome comic.

@@kevinlovell2404 Dracula famously shorted Moon Knight $17 back when he was still doing some mercenary work. Moon Knight then proceeded to invade Dracula's castle to demand payment. D-boy fled and still owes MK if I remember correctly...
@@tmac2744 thanks for the explanation. Like in Better Off Dead - the paperboy: "I want my two dollars."
I love how Judd McKay has established himself as The supernatural writer of Marvel currently. I love how he wrote Clea in Strange and Moon Knight is his best work. I really hope Marvel treats him well.
Loving the fact Moon Knight is finally getting the love and respect deserves. Writing is on point and the art is just amazing
During the holy water scene he should have said "I saw this in a movie...of course those were demons...potato potatoe"

Moon Knight is my top five favorite marvel characters i am so happy that he is getting the love he deserve with this glorious story
Definitely
The holy water sprinkler was a dope move. This book is cooking with gas- if I ever start collecting again I'll have to look this book up.
Using Holy Water in the sprinklers has been done in other places, but letting it soak into their clothes before blessing it personally is a new touch.

"we have an exciting new announcement everyone! The old Moon Knight has been killed unceremoniously off screen and we're unveiling our new non-binary Latinx r3t4rd cashgrab! We *promise* to develop their character and not just fridge them six months later if they aren't welcomed with open arms 😉"
@@anguishedcarpetwhat
@@anguishedcarpet I think Marvel Comics is avoiding that kind of thing at the moment after the New Warriors debacle not that long ago. They seem to have realized that the money the readers pay is what pays for them to be in the industry. Also, watching some of their number leave and try to go independent only to fail miserably because they were peddling the tripe you mentioned probably is making them a bit leery of going that route right now. At least until Disney Corporate steps in and does something stupid...
Tigra being there was cool, I know some say that she is not that important, but it is still cool to have her involved nonetheless.
Not every hero can have the symbolic importance of Steven Rogers or the strategic importance of Tony Stark. That doesn't make them bad.
Yeah she was been pretty cool throughout the run, I liked the issue focused on her hunting the Midnight Man
@@bthsr7113 Inever said that she was bad, I said that some might say that she is not important. I like the character of Tigra.
Not going to lie they could elevate her character if they want to I mean remember that Tiger Entity that represent Man's Fear of Beasts she could become it Earthly Avatar akin to Cheetah connection to the Red
This run is super underrated, im happy someone finally talk about it, almost no channel cover it and its amazing. Arguably the best run on moon knight
*spoiler*
I dont agree with rob on tygra, yes she never matter, but her story in this run is really good and I hope they will keep their relationship going
That move was straight out of Constantine.
Moon Knight always being this bright almost blinding light always looks great. I hope we see other powers from Hunter's Moon or maybe the two being able to amp each other when both Fists work together using their moon powers. Also that water sprinkler scene reminds me of the Blade movie when it's raining blood through the sprinkler system.
Moonknight has been my favorite offering from Marvel along with Ghost Rider. Both went back to their roots. I have the issues of Moonknights first appearance against Werewolf and he's that bad boy again. Oh, and I really enjoy the art style, especially the outfit shading and the moonlight glow his suited form seems to emit.
One correction to this wonderful presentation by Comics Explained. The Midnight Mission is the House of Madness presented in the Doctor Strange horror series of the 70s. Moonknight came across it and rather than banish it, he gave it a home and purpose and it agreed. Any enemy of Moonknight entering the House of Madness will only escape if Moonknight allows it. It makes for a potent safe space and trap for the unwary.
The art in this comic is top fucking tier. Moon Knight and Hunters Moon look absolutely fucking amazing and I literally don't think they could be drawn better. They do a great job of saying what a menace moon knight his and how malicious he can be but the artist actually captured that menacing maliciousness in the physical drawings of MK and HM. Really I'm in awe each time there's a good shot of them.
When ever you have Taskmaster one of the greatest mercenaries/fighters in Marvel Comics afraid to go after you that is saying something.
THIS is the Moon Knight stories I love best. When they dip into the supernatural, his madness, and his ruthlessness. It is the unique confluence of factors that make him more than a Batman clone. There a million brooding anti-heroes out there, from the ultraviolent to the thou shalt not kill.
It is the combination of factors that make Moon Knight so damn interesting and fun.
So here, where they show how he differs from say Daredevil or any of the Batclan, it gets good.
Also, any story where you show the obvious glaring weakness of vampires? I am here for it. Don't get uppity, leech. You will get annihilated.
Moonknight being like You think Im bad? Dont make me call Blade and Ghost Rider! 😂😂😂
DAMN!!! That speech from Taskmaster was one of the best I've heard for why you shouldn't f*** with Moonknight. Beast that he is,my 3rd fav character. I think Nighthawk is Marvel's Bat
This is my favorite story you’ve explained in awhile! This was dope!
Only thing that pissed me off was the holy water bit from the sprinklers. It’s been done several times now through blade and Constantine. Just wish there was a better ending to that. Vampires have been around for so long, with rings that let pure bloods walk in daylight and warding’s that dispel those effects.
this run is so good that even though i’m caught up i still gotta watch these videos 😭😭
This is an awesome story for sure. While I did enjoy the Moon Knight tv show I just wish it took place in NYC. Dark and gritter, a contrast to how the show was. Hell film it much in the same sense as the movie 7.
That ending was freaking insane!!! Bro I need you to do more Moon Knight!!!!
Moon knight is one of marvels most underrated characters. So glad he gots a show and is getting more love these days
The fact that Taskmaster is that scared of facing Moonknight cracks me up 😂😂😂
Afraid I am not so sure just not smart yes.
I've really grown to love Moon Knight over the last few years.
This run was one of the best things coming out of Marvel. I'm really hoping they don't absolutely ruin everything with Jed gone
Next issue will be woke propaganda
Bruh, that nod to Blade was savage
That is a pretty dope move by Moon Knight. Was not what I was expecting to see with the water.
That was, an incredible moment at the end
For me, I agree, when he turned the rain to holy water was pretty dope.
Interesting approach how you could write Moon Knight "whole" for a while:
His 3 personalities can operate on a cooperative system, all effectively in control via the ability for the other two to veto the currently acting persona's decisions if they stand 2 against 1. Every major decision gets put to a vote, and with an odd number of people it can never end in a stalemate.
That would keep him stable for a while, effectively acting as a singular personality who's a mix of all 3. But I keep saying "for a while" because as we know, as much as things change in Marvel, they always return to "normal". This solution has an easy way out and back to the split personalities, since it only works as long as all 3 agree that it's functional. If they end up at each other's throats over anything (like say one personality's wishes get constantly vetoed against and they feel insulted), you can quickly get back to the status quo without much fuss.
Simply beautiful I loved this storyline... I could see why he and Blade in Marvel Snap are discard themed.
The art of moonknight in this is absolutely amazing
Brother Rob,
My reaction to this story is exactly like yours.
This story is absolutely phenomenal.
Got to love that ends the threats promise with blade someone who is constantly seeking out Dracula himself for his
I honestly thought that the message to Dracula from Moon Knight at the end was that Drac still owed Moon Knight his money.
Man you can't go wrong with a moon knight comic. Ao damn good
I just want a Moonknight comic run based off the meme.
Moonlight: Dracula when my GOD damn money
Moon Knight & Blade would be a hell of a team!
When taskmaster describes someone as basically “a living 9/11” you know it’s serious
I automatically like every video Rob begins like this
As soon as Rob said that the dude snuck in and went to the spinkler system, I thought of a single name; John Constantine. A sequel is already in production -- It's been green lit. Unfortunately, it's on pause until the writer's strike is over.
Dracula: he said blade will be there?
minion: yes
Daracula: Do not step in his town again.
Great narration of this story, Thank You.
MANNNNN if I wasn’t a fan of moonknight before, I am now. This was awesome.
Love the artwork on this one.. Damn.. Very nicely done.
That's a peak trick used by the Winchesters a long time ago haha
This is amazing!
That was a good one! Great work!👍
"Where are you Dracula you big fucking nerd, Where's my Money?"
You know it's gonna pop off 😮
Question, where is Blade in all of this? Seems like he needs to be in this story haha
I don't know, but there's vampires all over the world, so he may have been busy elsewhere.
He's the "sheriff" of Chernobyl, the vampire nation -- basically, he's keeping a whole country of vampires, led by Dracula, in check elsewhere.
Damn. I really hope the MCU doesn't ignore stuff like this. I enjoyed the MCU MN series for what it was, but if they can bring the darkness to MN's character like this, KF will go up leaps and bounds in my estimation.
Hey, burning vampires with holy water is like dope, it could work in a R rated movie
I wish I enjoyed that series. Way too many frustrating plot points and lack of Jake really deflated it for me.
@@lowman5893 Considering Jake was quite literally the last thing we saw in the first series, I'm hoping that there will be more of him in the second. He was so heavily hinted at throughout the first that both Mark and Stephen should already have realized there is another personality inside somewhere.
the ".. i am a priest" line, i knew exactly what was about to happen xD
That ending really shows his parallels with Batman 😂 work smarter not harder.
Damn!! Makes me get that series. I love Moon Knight!! Thanks for making it exciting to see and hear!!
Dude just John-Constantined the whole vampire pack.

Damn, as you were explaining what Soldier was doing with the hacking of the sprinkler system, I thought that it meant that they had pumped it full of holy water, but the writer went one step beyond that and had him turn that water into holy water. Damn if that isn't hype.
Moon knight is broken tho lol

Moon Knight vs Vampires sounds like an awesome story, and I hope it gets adapted into the MCU for Moon Knight season 2.
couple of years ago it was a shitpost that dracula owned moonknight money... i wonder where that cme from honestly
You know he didn't want to deal with the man when he goes out of his way to warn him possibly half just to let him know he said no stay the hell away from the heli's.

This is why Moon knight will forever and always will be my fav Super hero

That was AMAZING!
Moonlight just staright up SNAPPED! " bring your blood sucking asses to New York, and you will deal with me, my forces, the MIDNIGHTS SUNS and Blade!" Moonknight was just declaring WAR!
Constantine used the same sprinkler system holy water trick to weaken a large group of demons. (in the movie with Keanu Reeves)
This run has been nothing short of spectacular.
