Gotta give it to the SLC, hands down. I looked at both and when I read you can take how long it takes to build a GTM and double it for for bodywork alone, it was a no-brainer for the SLC. Not to mention the all aluminum monocoque chassis and billet suspension is automotive jewelry.
Really enjoyed this, I do builds and restorations on my channel, my Lambo replicas get a lot of attention, but you've showed me a few new toys which I loved!!!!!
CRP makes a Diablo that is done correctly with correct chassis and the body panels are all aftermarket replacement. I hate to call it a kit because it's more like buying a Diablo from the factory that is partially assembled. Best Diablo reproduction hands down.
The Factory Five cars are WELL-DESIGNED with attention to detail and even 'Training Classes" available! The GTM is a Very high-performance vehicle! The SL-C is also an Extremely High-Performance vehicle you can take as far as your budget will allow, with remarkable handling and as much HP as you can dare put into it. But for me personally, I Must have a car I can physically get in and out of -- with fractured back and several major artificial joints -- so I would probably go with the Factory Five '33 Roadster, with the removable hardtop...which can still offer some remarkable handling -- considering that FFR uses a full mono frame and 3-link suspension -- and can accept any late-model V8 with 'gobs of HP'...
It looks like there wasn’t much attention to detail towards the end of the build, the panel gaps are all over the place from what the walk around showed.
Enjoyed the video but I have one question. The name of the channel is heel-toe but your intro features an upshift in the audio. Why not feature a heel-toe downshift in that audio?
@@davidn5770, b/c "having a girlfriend" will distract him from the more important things in life like serious car driving and attention to details? hmmmmmm
Those are a mean machine, extremely rapid,a race car on the road. The only one I've ever seen was at a car show,it left the show, somebody pulled out in front of him and there was virtually nothing left of the Ultima, very sad indeed.😦
I have looked at many videos about kit cars. My conclusion is that are all misleading! BEWARE 1) Your "garage" needs to be at least 2000 square feet to hold the kit body and parts 2) $1000s of tools including drill press and lathe to work on parts that don't fit quite right 3) Tools and skills to trim the fiberglass body panels to fit "right" 4) $1000s to get a good paint job you will be proud to show off 5) Tools and skills to disassemble the donor car parts or $6000 to $20000 to buy the parts you need 6) 400+ hours of labor
They aren't misleading at all. Most, if not all, state the average build time. They also mention what is needed to build the cars. Your idea of what size garage needed is for you alone. Others build them in garages that are smaller than that. Of course you need to buy other parts. Again most, if not all, very clearly state exactly that. The only thing misleading is your comment.
before you buy a kit car, sit in one like to one you want to buy. I wanted to buy a GTM until I tried to get in it. it was beyond stupid and trying to get out was even more stupid.
I'm 5ft 8 200lbs have no problem whatsoever so if anyone wants to trade a nice GTM for an award winning massaged Viper contact me Bud at 707 298 zero 051 eight text please to start
They took the parts of a chevy cobalt to make a gokart....SHAME! i've wanted a cobalt (especially SS)for a long time. Hope it was built from spare parts
LOL the slc is comical, a low car then all of a sudden a step up to a large bubble for you to sit in, hilarious, like a pope-mobil. THe only one with nice lines is the factory 5, the rest were designed by someone who does not understand balance and beauty.
I was considering an Ultima RS or an SL-C but decided to go the GT40 Mk1 (it was the panel contours that did it for me).
Like the cars
The SL-C looks like such a fun project.

...As long as you can overlook that it's within a hair's-breadth of being as ugly as a Countach...which I can't.
@@mescko All perspective. I like the Countach.
I'd go for the GTM, looks like a no-problem build.
That SLC with its hydraulic lift system in action though!
Wish I had a garage
SL-C with registration WTF-376... the WTF pretty well sums up the lot. All come from the designer Bud Tugly. I want my 4:40 back!
Really enjoyed this, I do builds and restorations on my channel, my Lambo replicas get a lot of attention, but you've showed me a few new toys which I loved!!!!!
I might do a follow up to my cheap kit cars you can buy vid now I've seem this!!!!!

Floyd Burdett ..
The new vettes r midengine designed like the gtm..
It's a pity they missed the class on how to put the "Factory Five" letters on straight on the rear of the car 1:00 & 1:48
The last one was a woooooooow
You missed Cobra, gt40 and Caterham seven style kits, they seem to be the most common here in the UK.
Too bad the builder of the first Factory Five shown couldn't manage to get the name on the back of the car stuck on straight!
Agreed! they go to all the effort of building the car and they stuff up the simplest thing.
It looks like there wasn’t much attention to detail towards the end of the build, the panel gaps are all over the place from what the walk around showed.
What! No Ultima?
How much are these kits
no caterham 7??? best kit car ever!
Sadly, The one to build yourself can be bought only in the UK, for the US you can only buy them already built
"street legal" caterham is not even street legal 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I would like a Ford GT90 kit build.
But not found any.
Maybe there is none.
How much dose complete car kit cost?
Still less build time than me with a Lego set
I like the factory five car
I gotta ask the question...
Is there a kit car you CAN'T build in your garage?
Yes vaydor g35

They forgot the Lister Bell str and the k1 attack
Super lite is actually a Maxim. They just rebranded it.
what does the SLC sit on?
SLC supplies it own body and frame, there is no donor vehicle. You choose the engine and transmission
Who makes a good Porsche 917k replica.
The Factory Five looks more like it's based on a C6 chassis than a C6,the wheels are C6 ZO6.
It's not based on any chassis. It has a custom space frame chassis. You can use parts of a Vette, or not.
Cheaper to just buy a C-8.
What ever happened to the kitcar company street beast
No Ultima GTR shame
CM Skinner I got the kit for 30k I built it myself I put an lsx aluminum engine and it can go 220 mph

99% of kit cars can be built in your garage. That's the whole point of them. You might as well have a video titled "5 cars you can drive on the road".
this
One decent car...ho-hum.
WRX in intro

i love Fran Hall's SLC Supercar, but the GTM's styling more attractive, finished automobile..... The SLC's side and rear panels are Godawful ugly.
If you can't build it in your garage its not a proper kit car.
"Kit" a bad word to hear if you are a car enthusiast
