i have an 04 SE. has about 125k miles. have had to fully replace the suspension, sway bar, control arms, and brake calipers. transmission has been flushed at 50k, 100k, but still has some lurching issues. really other than that, the car is great. got it for $800 from auction. obviously way under value.(3-5k) which justified fixing that shit
update: have since then added a VIAS block plate due to a DTC. also have added a new cat conv because old one was clogged, and while I was down there added a full catback exhaust. car is still running great- but it appears I will be doing the fuel system soon; fume smell on startups.
I'm okay with that because Normally have the radio on. I'm just scared of the trans so i drain ever 60k. also i have an ac that has a leak but blows fine. 75k miles currently
My 05' SE 6sp. Has 211.060mi. And it's hard not to drive like I stole it, have replaced most parts under front end: tie rod ,shocks, control arm, etc. And still have torque sway!? Can anyone tell me what will remedy that prob. ? Other than that it has been GREAT CAR. Also I have yet to find out in all my research HOW many manuals they made in 05' can anyone answer that? Thanks
I know its a year old comment but just in case, Torque steer is an element of unequal drive shafts. There’s no solution to that beyond a limited slip differential which one is not guaranteed to be compliant with the car (since it was never an option). That said, limited slip difs were available on its platform mate, the 2002 Altima, so one might be available for swap!
My 04 has never seen transmission issues and I drive it like I stole it.
The suspension though I had to replace it entirely. That's my kryptonite.
Whattttttt???? You are the first person I ever heard say that
@@antonioevans5154 About the transmission? I've read a lot about that being the main issue but not mine. I feel kinda lucky.
Trust me. You are more than lucky. You need to play the lottery if you have an 04 with no transmission issues.
@@antonioevans5154 😳 is that so? wow!
Did yours have the 4 speed auto or the 6 speed manual? The 5 speed is known to have issues
Only thing this car was missing was AWD or RWD, and better brake hose because my calipers use to always sieze.

the loud interior noise is what i REALLY HATE in my 07’ Maxima
That’s my biggest complaint as well.
