I rewatched every watched all of avatar the last Airbender and I wasn’t a fan of the Zuko and Katara to begin with but after rewatching the show I’m even more confused why people ship them so hard when they didn’t have enough screen time together to build a set dynamic in my opinion. Aang and Katara on the other hand… thats one mostly healthy relationship even if i dont ship it
Agreed! Most of Zuko’s screen time is paired with Uncle Iroh in a setting separate from the GAang and we don’t see much Zuko and Katara interactions outside of season one. And in season one, it’s mainly hostile with Zuko threatening the GAang, since he manhandled Gran-Gran, constantly fought with Aang, Sokka, and Katara, and also tracked down and bribed Katara with her mother’s necklace. Meanwhile, Aang and Katara have been building a bond since the first episode when they went penguin sledding and their relationship was gradually developed as the series progressed. Personally I think that Zuko and Katara just doesn’t fit with the canon plot at all, and if you changed the plot to fit in their relationship, it would take away from their character arcs. Zuko needed to see that him returning to the fire nation wasn’t what he imagined it to be and Katara needed to see that revenge wasn’t the answer.
If I had one nickle for each time I said “I havent been this early since…” in this channel, I would have 2 nickles! Wich is not a lot but its weird it happened twice.
