Someone in high school found out that I “dated” one of their friends back in 6th grade and wrote a hilarious smut fic of us. In the fic, we met again (older, not as 12 year-olds) and then we immediately had shitty sex that was hilariously described in true fanfic fashion. Someone in the friend group did a dramatic reading of it at a sleepover and I almost pissed myself laughing.
An interesting follow up would be asking fan fic writers what’s the weirdest thing that *they* have written. Would love to hear them try and downplay it, or justify it lol
That's just what fanfiction is like. I think it's part of how a lot of writers seem to go through the weirdest shit the second they reach chapter 5 of a fic (just when people start getting invested, in the average story)

One of the craziest fanfics I read was a guy being in love with a literal pastry, it got so bad he even broke up with his boyfriend so he could date the pastry. They even got engaged, but then at the end of the book he gets hungry and he eats it. Beautiful read 10/10.

Oh it is. It starts of quite lighthearted but it gets pretty serious when Ramsey realizes what kind of shit his students have been through. He also creates some sort of interhousal bake-off and the contestants become really good friends with each other and have secret nightly baking-meet-ups. You should go read it 😊

If anyone was wondering, the HP Gordan Ramsey fic is Harry Potter and the Lack of the Lamb Sauce on ao3. I'm not that far into it but it's over 350,000 words and apparently gets very emotional in the later chapters
ITS SOOOOO GOOD!!! I searched for it when I saw someone give it as an answer and I got REALLY invested. I'm not usually one for the canon ships, but this work was so good I didn't mind it at all. And it was great at reminding us it /wasn't/ an AU, but more like canon compliant with one extra character, which changes some small-to-bigger things, but not much on a larger scale. That fic is absolutely gold and I am in love with it. It's one of my few public bookmarks!! The author was great at making us care about the already existent canonically minor characters, and also on their OCs... Ugh, so good!! I could rant about it for so long. I binge-read through it and it was worth it every second; for the laughs, the fluff, and the pain.

For anybody wondering about 4:34, that's not 321 Penguins having relations with the reader all at once. It's "3-2-1 Penguins", which was a Christian CGI show made by Big Idea, aka, the creators of Veggietales, starring 4 Penguins who live in a spaceship disguised as a toy in an attic. The protagonists are a pair of human siblings who are spending the summer with their grandma's, where depending on the episode, one of them whisked away by the penguins on some drug-fuelled intergalactic adventure where the kids learn Christian-coded life lessons, not unlike Veggietales, though I feel like 3-2-1 Penguins was a lot less overt with the references to Christianity than early Veggietales. It's basically Penguins of Madagascar but in space and weirder. So basically it's 4 penguins instead of 321, which as weird at it is, is at least a much more reasonable number for polyamorous fanfic lol.

The Gordon Ramsay in HP one is Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce on Ao3! It sounds silly but it's honestly a masterpiece. Gordon is a very well written character and fits well, side characters are expanded on, new friendships are explored, and there's some really deep and intense stuff about pureblood supremacy. I haven't finished yet but I highly recommend it.

I once read a 157-chapter multi fandom crossover fic where a lot of weird and surprisingly dark stuff happened but the weirdest thing I remember is a pony version of Korra from The Legend of Korra was the daughter of Applejack (because the "base fandom" was My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic)
One of the ones I found weird was a one chapter crack fic. Mario beat the crap out of Jack Walten from the Walten files in a grocery store, saving Stanford Pines who was trying to simply get milk for his brother, who was having a breakdown basically the whole time.

The reason they’re so well written is because writers lose motivation for all of their actual ideas and the only thing that motivates them becomes shrek x donkey smut or whatever they find works.
One of my favorite weirdly good ones was a Phineas and Ferb fic where Perry was a human and mute, doofensmirtz was just a regular pharmacist, and perry was assigned to him by accident. They fell in love and co-parented a young Vanessa after doof's ex wife did some really shitty stuff, and perry helped both Vanessa and heinz through the whole thing. It's incredibly wholesome, and one of my favorite fics to this day
I would love an anime where seriel killers got turned into anime girls to attone for your sins, where they are acutely aware of how tropey their existence is, how weak their anime girl bodies are, how little control they have over their lives and situations. And their just suffering the entire time.
I mean there's a manga like that not with serial killers, but like with desperate af bad people turned into anime girls that straight up killing and torturing each other for the sake of survival and getting their wishes come true. Just that, it was sadly discontinued due to the author being dead before it finished.

It was during a beautifully sunny day. The cloudless sky and the warm weather were perfect for children to play outside. You may think that a young woman like Coley would be enjoying the good time out in the open, but NO. Coley was not like other girls. She was different. She, unlike most of the people, stayed in her room to finish this wonderful exotic fanfiction she found on Ao3, telling the lovestory between Cinderella and Spongebob. While reading, she was devouring M&Ms, colour by colour. She always began with the red ones, then the yellow ones, the brown ones, the blue ones, the orange ones and then ended with the green ones, her favourites. When the time to consume the first green M&M arrived, as she reached out for it, a voice came out of nowhere: “Please, don't eat me!” “Huh?”, was the very articulated response of the girl. “I said don't eat me, you deaf grandma!” replied the voice. Coley looked at the M&M in bewilderment. Could it be... “Are you the one talking to me?”, she asked, still confused. “AM I THE ONE TALKING? OF COURSE I am the one talking! Or maybe you are about to eat something else?” Coley was ✨confusion✨. “I said don't eat me because I am not a real M&M. I was turned into it by a witch who wanted to punish me.” It could have been because of the warm weather or because of the fanfiction about Cinderella and Spongebob, but Coley was feeling a lot like a Disney princess. Carried by her impulse, she brought the green M&M to her lips, but not to eat it, no... Instead, she kissed it. PUFF Everything seemed so big somehow. So, so big. And then, she remembered how the tale went. The princess kissed the frog and became a frog too. That’s when she realised: She was an M&M. A green one. The end~
Sounds unhinged, but a Good Omens Ineffable Husbands fic where Aziraphale is a ceiling fan and Crowley is an air conditioner- Yeah Azirafan x AC The thing is, it's funny, in character, has so many show references, adorable, and incredibly well written It was so good i even read it to my partner who doesn't read fanfic- (It's "air conditioned, love unconditional" on AO3 if you're interested lol)
the gordon ramsay at hogwarts one is actually an exceptionally well written fic, but it's also 350,000+ words long and will leave you broken, because it is not as much a crack fic as the premise implies, and actually gets into some pretty heavy stuff, so would recommend, but go in with that knowledge.

Very late to the party but last year a freshman in drama club wrote a fanfiction about the entire rest of the drama club, mostly centered around her incredibly unrealistic romance with a sophomore. It was completely genuinely written, completely terrible, and completely in comic sans. It involved a fake pregnancy subplot
There was a girl in my highschool that also wrote fanfiction of real people centered around her. She eventually left the school because she was racist and people already hated her anyways. Last I heard, she’s writing brother incest fanfiction.
I read one called “We can’t fix it” (Bob the Builder x Handy Manny). Bob is a himbo who’s obsessed with fixing things, and Manny is sad that all his tools died. It’s a very strange, yet pretty short, and entertaining read on wattpad.

I remember being a lil adventurous in AO3 and searches for the least popular fandoms that have fics for them. I found a Bejeweled (vid game) fic and I think it’s the only fic in that fandom. It’s a smut fic between the announcer that was in the Bejeweled game x Mr Toffee from Candy crush.
Didn't read it but I've heard of it and seen screenshots of the ending online: The strangest fic I've ever seen is a Naruto fic where Naruto and Sasuke are arguing about their feelings in the twin towers and 9/11 happens at the end and they die. The closing notes contains a heartfelt message to those who had lost loved ones in the attacks. It was weirdly self-aware of the fact that writing something like that is pretty insensitive, all things considered.
I think I saw a Sterek (Derek x Stiles) 9/11 fic where they confess there love for each other and then jumped and died in the end.....I actually teared up??

Not weirdest, but best fanfic I think I have ever read was an Aladarius fandic from the owl house. It's a modern au, got great storyline amd it has everything you would want from a fic! It's called "New Beginnings (Usually means burning a few bridges)" By RussiaBear. It's literally the best, and it's so well thought out, has some smut but isn't just smut, has fluff, angst, amd it takes a hold of you like nothing ever has before! Oh, and the violet wardrobe collection by Hittechlatte. A Donnie (rottmnt) x reader fanfic collection. Super well written and also the best.
The strangest fanfic I ever read I found was in a lost notebook on the bus in 10th grade. .... Let me start at the beginning. So there were 4 kids named Chris in my grade and I was friends with one of them. We were sitting on the bus together and Chris found a notebook on the floor and picked it up. Don`t ask me why we decided to look through it, it just seemed like a good idea at the time...... We started going through it and saw pages long stories with titles that were just the ship name of our classmates together and each story was a smut fanfic of those people. Now we had a feeling as to who this notebook belonged to and it was confirmed when we found a fic where they had a story titled "Nick X Reader" and they used their own name in place of where it would say "Insert Name Here". And then we came across the crown jewel of the notebook which was titled 'Chris-cest'. It was a 12 page narrative of the 4 Chris`s in our grade having an explicitly written foursome. .... Chris ended up keeping the notebook 🤷♀
I once read a crackfic that was written by someone who was only familiar with the source media through what their friends had told them. IIRC, part way through, a character randomly died because the author remembered hearing that he was canonically dead.

I recently read a miraculous fic where Hawk Moth creates a supervillain who makes everyone F*ck in order to create babies. Everyone , and I mean EVERYONE ends up getting pregnant. I'm used to reading WTF Fics but the level of teenage pregnancies in this fic really made me uncomfortable. ......I still ended up reading the whole fanfic because the love square drama was *chef kiss* and I'm a bitch for a good drama.

I saw of its existence when she posed the question and I just finished it last night.....the first half I was like this is cute and kitchy and I expected to be near the end and then I check the chapters and see I'm only halfway and then my feels exploded and it became one of the best five I've read.

I usually don't read fanfics that are *too* weird, but there was this one book called Danganronpa 69. From what I can remember, it was Danganronpa but with characters from popular media. It was actually really well written and I think it was what got me into fanfics in general. The creator of it is also now doing *another* Danganronpa fanfic, Danganronpa 96. Although slightly strange, they're very good books.

I stumbled across that tag and now I'm obsessed. But the fic that really drove me into it was a star wars fic and Anakin, Padmé and Obi-Wan were soulmates. One of Padmé's geese tried to goosasinate Palpatine and the worldbuilding was beautiful.

It starts of quite lighthearted but it gets pretty serious when Ramsey realizes what kind of shit his students have been through.
He also creates some sort of interhousal bake-off and the contestants become really good friends with each other and have secret nightly baking-meet-ups.

ITS SOOOOO GOOD!!! I searched for it when I saw someone give it as an answer and I got REALLY invested. I'm not usually one for the canon ships, but this work was so good I didn't mind it at all. And it was great at reminding us it /wasn't/ an AU, but more like canon compliant with one extra character, which changes some small-to-bigger things, but not much on a larger scale. That fic is absolutely gold and I am in love with it. It's one of my few public bookmarks!! The author was great at making us care about the already existent canonically minor characters, and also on their OCs... Ugh, so good!! I could rant about it for so long. I binge-read through it and it was worth it every second; for the laughs, the fluff, and the pain.

For anybody wondering about 4:34, that's not 321 Penguins having relations with the reader all at once. It's "3-2-1 Penguins", which was a Christian CGI show made by Big Idea, aka, the creators of Veggietales, starring 4 Penguins who live in a spaceship disguised as a toy in an attic. The protagonists are a pair of human siblings who are spending the summer with their grandma's, where depending on the episode, one of them whisked away by the penguins on some drug-fuelled intergalactic adventure where the kids learn Christian-coded life lessons, not unlike Veggietales, though I feel like 3-2-1 Penguins was a lot less overt with the references to Christianity than early Veggietales. It's basically Penguins of Madagascar but in space and weirder.
So basically it's 4 penguins instead of 321, which as weird at it is, is at least a much more reasonable number for polyamorous fanfic lol.

The Gordon Ramsay in HP one is Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce on Ao3! It sounds silly but it's honestly a masterpiece. Gordon is a very well written character and fits well, side characters are expanded on, new friendships are explored, and there's some really deep and intense stuff about pureblood supremacy. I haven't finished yet but I highly recommend it.

The reason they’re so well written is because writers lose motivation for all of their actual ideas and the only thing that motivates them becomes shrek x donkey smut or whatever they find works.
One of my favorite weirdly good ones was a Phineas and Ferb fic where Perry was a human and mute, doofensmirtz was just a regular pharmacist, and perry was assigned to him by accident. They fell in love and co-parented a young Vanessa after doof's ex wife did some really shitty stuff, and perry helped both Vanessa and heinz through the whole thing. It's incredibly wholesome, and one of my favorite fics to this day

She, unlike most of the people, stayed in her room to finish this wonderful exotic fanfiction she found on Ao3, telling the lovestory between Cinderella and Spongebob. While reading, she was devouring M&Ms, colour by colour. She always began with the red ones, then the yellow ones, the brown ones, the blue ones, the orange ones and then ended with the green ones, her favourites.
When the time to consume the first green M&M arrived, as she reached out for it, a voice came out of nowhere:
“Please, don't eat me!”
“Huh?”, was the very articulated response of the girl.
“I said don't eat me, you deaf grandma!” replied the voice.
Coley looked at the M&M in bewilderment. Could it be...
“Are you the one talking to me?”, she asked, still confused.

Didn't read it but I've heard of it and seen screenshots of the ending online: The strangest fic I've ever seen is a Naruto fic where Naruto and Sasuke are arguing about their feelings in the twin towers and 9/11 happens at the end and they die. The closing notes contains a heartfelt message to those who had lost loved ones in the attacks. It was weirdly self-aware of the fact that writing something like that is pretty insensitive, all things considered.

Not weirdest, but best fanfic I think I have ever read was an Aladarius fandic from the owl house. It's a modern au, got great storyline amd it has everything you would want from a fic! It's called "New Beginnings (Usually means burning a few bridges)" By RussiaBear. It's literally the best, and it's so well thought out, has some smut but isn't just smut, has fluff, angst, amd it takes a hold of you like nothing ever has before!
Oh, and the violet wardrobe collection by Hittechlatte. A Donnie (rottmnt) x reader fanfic collection. Super well written and also the best.
The strangest fanfic I ever read I found was in a lost notebook on the bus in 10th grade.

Let me start at the beginning.
So there were 4 kids named Chris in my grade and I was friends with one of them. We were sitting on the bus together and Chris found a notebook on the floor and picked it up. Don`t ask me why we decided to look through it, it just seemed like a good idea at the time......
We started going through it and saw pages long stories with titles that were just the ship name of our classmates together and each story was a smut fanfic of those people.
Now we had a feeling as to who this notebook belonged to and it was confirmed when we found a fic where they had a story titled "Nick X Reader" and they used their own name in place of where it would say "Insert Name Here".
And then we came across the crown jewel of the notebook which was titled 'Chris-cest'. It was a 12 page narrative of the 4 Chris`s in our grade having an explicitly written foursome.

I recently read a miraculous fic where Hawk Moth creates a supervillain who makes everyone F*ck in order to create babies. Everyone , and I mean EVERYONE ends up getting pregnant. I'm used to reading WTF Fics but the level of teenage pregnancies in this fic really made me uncomfortable.
......I still ended up reading the whole fanfic because the love square drama was *chef kiss* and I'm a bitch for a good drama.
If anyone wants to find the hp professor!Gordon Ramsey fic, its called Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce and i think its the hp fic with the most comments on ao3. Its very well written and did make me cry, but its very long.

That's not even the worst danganronpa fanfic there is out there....there are much much worse ones....
I usually don't read fanfics that are *too* weird, but there was this one book called Danganronpa 69. From what I can remember, it was Danganronpa but with characters from popular media. It was actually really well written and I think it was what got me into fanfics in general. The creator of it is also now doing *another* Danganronpa fanfic, Danganronpa 96. Although slightly strange, they're very good books.

I stumbled across that tag and now I'm obsessed. But the fic that really drove me into it was a star wars fic and Anakin, Padmé and Obi-Wan were soulmates. One of Padmé's geese tried to goosasinate Palpatine and the worldbuilding was beautiful.
