Has to be one of the best videos I’ve ever seen on supplying the basic information you need quickly effectively directly to learn between the speed that you spoke and the amount of time you spent on each item I am so impressed with this video you did a phenomenal job I feel so much more confident about what I learned and the things I need to do in my new 2024 jeep wrangler 4 x e thank you so much🎉
This has been VERY helpful to me as the new owner of a 4xe Willy's. Plus the added giggle when a Canadian tells us how to set the map to find the nearest Tim Hortons!
It's been a great vehicle. Only about three weeks on it (and still the first tank of gas half full). Since this is also my first Wrangler, there is some 'muscle memory' to build up to find controls safely when driving (including on the Uconnect panel). I am very much looking forward to warmer weather when I can remove the roof panels. Since we're in Ohio, that might not be until May or so. But thumbs up from me.@@CarsWithSteve
Three weeks on a tank is wild, are you driving much? The uConnect panel does take a bit to get used to but give the voice command prompt a try for climate, audio etc! Doors off is going to be great, any off-road adventures planned for the summer?
Level one takes about 14/15 hours from empty however I bought level 2 from Home Depot for $170 and it takes 1/12 to 2 hours to complete charge. I have the Willy’s 2024 with about 15000 miles on it now and as of yet it’s awesome and I must say electric off road is freaking crazy to much fun lol I would buy a fleet of these Jeep’s
@@CarsWithSteve yes we have and that’s what we liked about the e save besides being quite we don’t pack in extra fuel and the 21 miles range is more than that off road I believe it’s because of the slower speeds and if needed this thing is a rocket so on and off road it’s not a punk . However I wish I had a wrench
@@Mymusickb lol it’s our first one also. We bought the vevo charger from Home Depot website for $170 and it works perfectly but it must be plugged into a 220 outlet that we already had in our garage so no wiring for us . My wife drives on a average of 20 miles a day for work and we use no fuel we seldom use the hybrid mod it’s ether full electric or on the freeway the e save mode that actually charges the battery faster than others may say ? And yet it’s still the unlimited off road vehicle. Any other questions don’t hesitate to ask and if you can try to rent one for a week or two you may just be surprised
What is your MPG like? Do you actually get the 49mpg? And is the 49mpg constant or just for the first gallon. What I dont get is the jeep has a 17gal fuel tank and a max range of 370 so it comes out to 21mpg and Im confused how thats possible if its supposed to be 49
Steve, you have no idea how quickly I did my happy dance when I saw you posted this video! :D Thanks so much...I just put in an order for the Rubicon X 4xe and this is so informative! Love your in-depth videos, so much so, I download them on my iPhone the second they drop! Question for you Steve: Why wasn't the Sahara equipped with the Power Box? I know that the higher trims here in the US receive it.
Haha that’s great and you’re welcome 🙏 Exciting about the Rubicon, what color did you go for? There are always little differences in Canada vs US builds. Most likely no power box up here because of a part availability thing or to keep the MSRP lower. When do you think you’ll have yours?
Haha I don't think I've run into a Jeep owner that hasn't loved the drive. If you ever shoot any off-road videos, it'd be great to check it out from an owner's perspective
@CarsWithSteve sweet, I had a Charger with uConnect4 and it was really good, so it would have been tough to improve on. Although it did take them some time to do it!
What Charger did you have? Once I saw that uConnect screen on some other Jeep/Ram vehicles I knew it was only a matter of time for the Wrangler to get it. I've heard a few people running into intermittent issues in the Ram uConnect 5 but people really seem to like it
Great video👍. Is the steering wheel still sloppy? Also, the difference with the 4Xe Rubicon is just the diff locks? Will it also have the power seats, or do you need to go up Rubicon X?
Thanks! The Rubicon would have the locking diffs, Roc-Trac 4x4, aux switches and front sway disconnect as some key differences. The X would give you a hard top and front facing camera too. Power seats in both!
@CarsWithSteve It has an oil consumption issue (it has run out of oil twice), but it has passed 2 oil consumption tests. They are also trying to figure out why the oil pressure warning light never came on. I really do love my Renny, but it is a 2018 and out of warranty...and I am tired of being stressed all the time, wondering if it is going to run out of oil! I did test drive the Wrangler 4xe today and I loved it!
So odd that it's burning oil that bad. I've been there before though for different cars, so I feel your pain! Exciting about the Wrangler. Think you'll end up pulling the trigger on it?
You missed something when you were explaining about the back seats and how the work. The reason the back seats are raised slightly from the cargo space is because that is where the lithium batteries are stored underneath the seats.
I'm no big expert, but having had a few 4X's, when using the 4-wheel drive shifter, it helps to have the vehicle moving a little when you shift the lever. Sometimes, the gears get hung up between the tranny and shifter and it's tough to shift. Having the vehicle move a little changes the gears' position and helps the shift. I just bought a new 2023 Wrangler Willys with the V-6 and base trim Uconnect4. We had a 2023 Grand Cherokee L with the Uconnect5 and didn't like it one bit. God help us with all this technology coming at us.
Some modes - 2WD to 4WD High are ok being done while driving or stopped but 4WD low should be when stopped. Good call on pointing out the availability to shift while driving though! The new screen is a bit of a pain until you get the hang of it. How are you liking the new Wrangler?
Can’t remember how many times I totally forgot to take my rubicon out of 2wd mode In bad weather or off-road and because it was Shredding through it with ease, and I didn’t even notice
how's the electric mileage handle winters? we live up in muskoka, about 15km from town. the idea of getting in to town and back without using gas is awesome, but there's only 5 km of buffer
I just got the Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe in Sergeant Green last week. This is my 5th Wrangler and first Hybrid..This video is great. Question, Why do you need to be in neutral to shift into 4-wheel drive? Isn't it shift on the fly like all the other Jeeps?
Great call on that green, it looks good in person! I think you're the first person who has commented on any of my Wrangler videos that has owned so many of them. How are you liking the hybrid so far compared to your last one? With the shifting... going between 2H and 4H can be done on the fly but a shift to 4L needs to be done with it in neutral. When I shot this video I was stopped when I made the shift to 4L which made it a bit challenging so it can be done stopped or at a low (1-3mph) speed
@@CarsWithSteve Gotcha, I didnt realize you were going into 4L. I do like the hybrid so far. Its my first jeep that has the cameras and screen and push start. My next 2 purchases are going to be a soft top kit for the summer and a 240V kit for the house. Thats the only thing I didnt like is that this jeep didnt have a dual top package like my last few jeeps did.
The little inverter I showed off in this one is the Jeep Power Box - tough to find from a dealer but you can find them here: carswithsteve.com/Jeep-Wrangler-4xe-PowerBox edit: one thing to point out is that not all trim levels are backwards compatible. Double check with your dealer to make sure that yours is either updated or compatible before you order it!
For acceleration having more wheels gripping makes sense but with that particular four-wheel-drive system, I think you’ll get a little better performance and 2 Wheel Dr. all around since it’s not spinning so much extra metal. It’s not a little dainty Quattro system.
Are you getting those numbers based on real world charge times? Jeep has it listed at 12 hours level 1 and 2 hours level 2 in all their marketing materials
real world... Jeep marketing materials are rosy, just like the miles you can get on battery mode, they go down by over 30% if you have AC or heating elements on!@@CarsWithSteve
It's always good to hear from real world owners! I figured the numbers may have been off a bit but next time I shoot a 4xe video I'll make sure to point out that out, thanks.
It’s going to depend on the power draw from where you have it plugged in. If you’re using a standard wall plug, those tend to max out at 1 kW, which means you’re at least 17 hours to fully charge up
Get a level 2 , takes about 2ht and some,I did have a Tesla ,so I can the level 2 from the Tesla and bought a n adapter for 89us,you will need a level 2 if you really want to use your jeep as a daily driver ! ,hope you enjoy it!
I don't understand why they don't ever show you the amps volts when you do different type plugins I like the 23 model because you don't have a lot of garbage of extra computers junk the computer world has warp people's minds in other brand Vehicles all they care about is the computer stuff and not quality
