    I have the 4xe 2022 Sahara. I’ve been able to get up to a 29 mile charge and am averaging 37 mpg! I am in love with this Jeep! It’s my third and by far the nicest I’ve owned. ✌🏼0lllllll0

    I agree about the driving experience in a Wrangler. I just bought a new 2023 Wrangler Willys. My other 2 vehicles are a Charger Scatpack and a Silverado and the Wrangler gives a whole new experience--you're sitting high up--large and in charge.

    Regarding the transmission, the automatic transmission is an intrinsic part of the hybrid system (one of the electric motors is built into the transmission and takes the place of the torque converter). A manual version would require a complete drivetrain redesign, so I'm fairly confident in saying it's never going to happen on the 4xe.

    • @DZ-cm5xw
      @DZ-cm5xw 7 месяцев назад

      Agree, a manual just can be fit in the 4xe design, regarding the tranny, it is a Good one in 4xe, same manufacturer as the ones in Acura and other brands.

    As a Jeep addict, I have a 2005 TJ Rubicon and a 2024 Rubicon X on order, I would say this is a good review. My only 2 cents would be for buyers to really understand what a Jeep is. It's a two solid-axle off road vehicle, it rides like a heavy duty truck with two solid front axles, understand that. I would not even classify it as an SUV due to its hard characteristics. The top would leak (more than they already do) if it were made of more pieces. Do your homework if you are looking to buy a Jeep. It can be the worst choice you make or the best... not much in between. Great call on the tires, you would think the Rubicon would get the M/T. Good job on the video!

    • @aaronyoung6903
      @aaronyoung6903 11 месяцев назад

      I’m looking at getting the Rubicon X as well. What was your reason on the engine you ended up going with? Did you get a 2 or 4 door. We will probably do 2 this go around. Our current is a 2015 Unlimited. Don’t really use all the space in the back. Just me and my wife.

    • @rogercanady6227
      @rogercanady6227 11 месяцев назад

      @@aaronyoung6903 I got the 4 door because I’m keeping my 2 door for hard wheeling. This new one will be for easier trips where my wife wants to go. Usually it’s just me and my 10 year old who take my current Jeep out. I got the 3.6 engine due to its tried and true longevity. I’m sure the 2.0 is amazing but I just took the 3.6 for that reason. Flip of a coin really.

    I have a gladiator gobi willys, softtop with a manual. I enjoy the manual except the clutch sucks. Would totally replace it if I felt like spending the money. Otherwise, I like it being tech enough but simple. Softop is totally worth a little extra noise, takes 10 seconds to fold back.

    I built 2 electric vehicles in the early 2000s, both had standard transmissions, even though it could be run without shifting in 3rd or 2nd gear because of the high torque and rpm’s available. I like shifting and you can hardly believe the torque you can get in 1st gear with 500 hp and 600 ft lb of torque. We’d get mid 4 second 1/4 miles shifting 1st and 2nd, but would get low 4 second 1/4 miles just keeping it in 2nd. These times both started with the clutch fully engaged and stomping on the throttle. We’d often slip the double sprung CenterForce clutch and burn about 15 ft of rubber with these 5000 lb lead acid based electric vehicles. Good times for sure!

    • @paulvansteenberghe4644
      @paulvansteenberghe4644 5 месяцев назад

      Not 1/4 miles, 0 to 60 mph was mid and low 4 seconds. 1/4 mile was about 10 or 11 seconds at about 130 mph.

    Love my Willy’s 4xE normally keep it eletric only range since I don’t drive much. Sometimes I do e save mode to fire engine up manually just to please my “ICE” itches I must say it’s weird having a dual clutch in a wrangler but I’ve always been a fan of them just never even thought nor noticed until recently it was one. • @robbieromain7382
      @robbieromain7382 5 месяцев назад

      There is 3 drive modes. You can drive in hybrid which combines power and gas and gives you best performance. Theres also a all electric mode which u can chose to just run full electric. E save is the last one which you can chose to focus on charging battery or focus on using less battery. Its pretty great :)

    There will never be a manual model and it has nothing to do with mechanics (although that’s also a primary reason as has been mentioned) but the reason is social and cultural. Nobody under the age of FORTY can drive a stick anymore! I’m 66 and I was raised on a stick. Learned to drive off-road in an army M151-A1 quarter ton JEEP. I was a U.S. Army Infantry Officer from 1980-1994 between active and reserve time.

    The real negative thing about this particular electrified variant is the long term longevity. Once that battery dies it just going to be a dead weight, also the cooling system of the jeep is tied to the cooling of the battery another nightmare to deal it. Off course most of the people that buy the 4xe wont be keep them for the long run.

    • @doublejslist
      @doublejslist  7 месяцев назад

      I don’t think battery longevity is a huge issue. With good temperature management, EV batteries seem to go in excess of 200,000 with a small amount of degradation. Time will tell if Jeep did it right.

    1. I bought a 2024 4xe, it has wireless carplay, but I don’t use it. I prefer to plug my phone in a cable so that my phone get charged at the same time.
    2. The backseat is not meant for humans, it is a torture chamber since the JK unlimited released. But in our case, the backseat passenger in the family is our beloved golden retriever, who fits nicely back there.
    It also discourages friends to asking for a ride, yeah!!
    After my wife trucked her friends inside our 2018 JL, it seems they never want to ride in it…again
    3. Radio presets? Never use them and don’t even know where they are and how to set them
    4. EV range is a joke, I only use the EV for acceleration. If I remember to charge it, I will charge it, otherwise the Turbo 4 is good enough.

    My wife had three Rubicons and now has a 2024 4xe Willys. You did a very pleasant review, but how could you NOT include the absurd price in the things you hate? 62K? These are truly fun and unique vehicles I F you are an off-roader. If not, they are an absurdly overpriced, electrically and mechanically unreliable vehicle. My wife had so many problems with her Rubicons at that this time around she got a five-year extended warranty. These are cult cars, and after all these years, Jeep has never learned how to make a truly reliable vehicle. Even the jeep technicians at two different dealerships admit that. I’m kind of a dull guy, so I drive a 2023 CRV top trim hybrid. They are entirely different vehicles for comparison true enough, and my AWD is certainly not for off-roading. But my CRV is infinitely more refined and infinitely more reliable with lots more room and more storage space even though it is considered a compact SUV. There is no excuse for so many Jeep reliability problems. I’m glad my wife, who pays for her own car, this time got an extended warranty. With the electrical problems which popped up in her Rubicons, I can hardly imagine what kind of problems will show up in this truck down the road. And with a CD of .47, forget about good mileage when you’ve used up your charge. On a recent trip where she couldn’t recharge, she was getting 17 MPG on the highway, which was worse than the Rubicon. It’s a heavy cinderblock by design, so there is no real fix for that.

    • @doublejslist
      @doublejslist  6 месяцев назад

      With the incentives and tax credits at the time I leased mine, it was one of the least expensive leases on the market. I don’t think I’d ever pay $60k+ for one of these things. The quality isn’t there. But it sure is fun to take the top off in the summer, and be pretty unstoppable in the winter.
