Skating the different textures in the city is just too true, I especially love the variation of the roads. Some are fast and some are slow, sometimes the smooth ones aren't even the fastest.
I live in Dallas, just got back into rollerblading after years of not & Bill Stoppard’s channel was also what got me into city skating. I’m so happy I found a skating channel that features my city tho! I can’t wait to know all the ins and outs of Dallas and grow my skills!
I really need to get back into city skating once the weather here starts being more consistently dry. I just skated my neighborhood in a drizzle, but I haven't been downtown on blades since last summer. I am with you on "finding city skating" and Bill is also my main inspiration! I hope to be Portland's Inline maniac someday.
Pretty cool to recognize a lot of the places in your videos, Dallas/North Dallas area anyways. Thanks for making videos! Awesome to have another sub alongside Bill Stoppard and Tiago.
when ever i city skate in my quads people always are really happy to see me and tell me to be careful lol. i love the unpredictability unique terrain and joy in street skating especially somewhere ive never been! ps im form dallas
Awesome Flow guys. Indeed, Bill Stoppard probably inspired 90% of city skaters out there. Just looking at his flows inspires everyone to put some skates on. He actually got me into skating and i never looked back (almost 3 years). I tried slaloming and other stuff, even rockered my skates for a month, but i reverted back to 100% city. contrarily to people who find rockering an "opening eyes" effect... it sure did it for me initially, but the speed loss and unstability downhills made the flat my favorite setup of all. I hope this vlog is the first of a long series
Hey guys, awesome video! It's really cool to watch people like you who love skating and love sharing that. I do like city skating here in Brazil, but it can be a bit dangerous due to crazy drivers haha. I prefer big wheels on the city, it helps a lot going fast and going through rough surfaces (a loooot of cobblestones here...). Keep up the great work, can't wait for the next video!
Great flow. Loved it a lot. I've probably already said it somewhere else, but for me city skating is a sort of meditation. No matter what happens in my life, when I'm putting my skates on and going out to the city I just disconnect from the other things. Skating covers me entirely, refreshes my brain. It's a great great antistress tool. it's another level of reality I must say. The one street is another parallel universe then I'm on skates. I'm sure you will uderstand me.
Nik, sometimes I can't believe English is your second language. You use it so beautifully. I love your perspective here, and agree 100%. When all feels lost in my life I just go out and skate the town and come back home a new person.
woah great video! i skate around dallas all the time! maybe one day i would bump into you guys haha it was pretty cool how i was familiar with every place you guys were at!
Ivan Tran You still city skate? Im kind of redescovering blading. Let me know if you want to meet up. Not a Dallas native so it would be cool to get to know the city skating. Let me know man. Thanks
Oh yeah! Those Seba High's look dope for city skating!! Damn! Hope I could have more time to go out and skate through Madrid, Spain. Whenever I have an oportunity I love hitting the streets on my Seba FR1 3x110... makes it easier to skate on any type of surface. Awesome video DDudes!!! 😊🤙🏽
Great vlog bro! I still love that you're from the south. Even if it's like 967 miles away from me (according to google). Your dialect in the commentary makes you feel local. Keep up the great work!
John, I can't tell you how nice it was to read that. I'm always self conscious about my accent. It's easier to hide it when I do a scripted video, but when I'm just blabbing it comes out! You made my night! Cheers!
I got inline skate which was used and got all the tires which is pretty much used hard to make them roll but still learning love skating you are lucky people so much resources you have
This is a very inspiring thing to hear! I’m sorry to hear that you do not have the resources other places in the world do, but I think it makes you even more amazing that you aren’t letting that stop you!!!
Living in the middle of Pennsylvania, we are known for 2 things. 1) the amish, and 2) the worse roads on the east coast. There are some small towns with sidewalks and stuff, but they're just as poorly maintained as our roads. I am always on the lookout for somewhere I could go outdoors, but not much luck yet. :(
I totally get it! In florida here, there just are no sidewalks. So either, you are in a car traffic lane, or you are like in the grass. Btw, I live outside of town. We have a nice state park with a paved bike/(rollerblade) path that's like 8 miles long. Maybe look for something like that, it's out of the way, and paved. It's perfect for those hard cardio sessions.
We're sorry to hear that, Shawn! Most of the area we live in is not good skating territory, but taking on the challenge of skating the rough spots anyway has made us better at it! ;)
Parks and trails are currently on my search list. A lot that I've visited have signs at the entrance strictly stating no skatingboard, inlines, etc. We have a few trails in the area too, but unfortunately none are paved. But the search continues. ^_^ I use to take my 6 year old nephew with me to the rink every weekend, but he broke his leg at school, so he'll be out of commission for a few months. I'm still hitting the rink every weekend, but I feel kinda awkward being the only adult on the floor. lol. Plus I think the uneven terrain of the outdoors will help me become a better skater, and I could practice stuff on my own without dodging kids at the rink. Keep up the great videos, they keep me inspired during the week to get back out there on the weekends! :)
Nice. My town (Columbia, MO) isn't really suitable for skating. There are probably parts of STL or KC where you could do it, but TBH, I don't know if I have the guts. When I lived in STL I mostly skated parking lots, school yards, tennis courts and the like. May never do it myself, but I enjoy watching others (I'm a Bill Stoppard subscriber - he just uploaded, matrafact). That area looks like a safe, low traffic scene - must have been Sunday, eh? Anyway, good vlog.
Thanks, Joe! We shot this on Monday and when the traffic picked up during rush hour we called it quits and skated over to a local brewery for some beer! Should have heard the comments the other customers were making about us drinking and then skating back to the car. Haha! Also, saw Stoppard uploaded right before I did and I was like "welp, there go all my inline viewers!" Cheers!
I agree so much I wish I had found city skating way before I did I’ve been a hockey player for a while but honestly city skating has made me so much better at hockey skating and just overall stamina for skating I’ve also started slalom skating which helps allot as well with all my other areas of skating as well
I think the curiosity is probably good. At least the activity is recognised I think people generally regard it as fun even if it’s not for them. I think anyone who regularly cycles in a city ( at least in the UK) has some horror stories so skates are doing ok I reckon. Good skating and stay safe.
Great video DD. Love city skating too. Did it a lot back in the 90's. Getting back into it, now that I live in Taiwan. Talk about funny looks. Oh...there goes that crazy foreigner.
I love it! If I ever go to Thailand I'll look you up for a skate! I'm planning on taking a contract in Korea within the next couple of years. I already get stared at 24/7 over there. I can imagine how they react when you're skating by them! :D
I’m getting back into in-line skating after a bad fall I had a year and half ago. I’m sure y’all injure yourselves here and there right? Bad sprains? Anything? How do you get over the trauma and continue? Love how detailed your tutorials are and the commentary. New subscriber from Los Angeles!!
Hey! We have dealt with injuries for sure. I always make sure to lightly stretch anytime I pull something. I did break my wrist once in a motorcycle crash, but have fortunately never had any serious skating related injuries yet. I fell on the ice once and hurt my back.. that's probably the worst skating injury. Landed on my head and the spine took all the shock. I had to lay in bed and eat ibuprofen for a week. Just take it easy and you'll be back to rolling in no time! Cheers!
Love the flow of city skate but unfortunately Prague is like 80% cobblestone of various shapes and sizes which makes for a painful ride; mostly not worth it unless you have a planned well thought-out route.
That is what flow is about! Try to find the areas you can go that are smoothest, and know how to run it out on rougher surfaces. Large wheels (90mm+) are also great for textured surfaces.
I am from pakistan and i like what you doing for skating , in my country we dont have any place to skate i learned skating in a room which is very small and now trying to skate in city and believe me when you skate in our city thats one word for the people who does its Dare devils so rock on for me 🤭
Mark, there is a shop in Plano called Carriers Skate Shop. That would be a good place to buy locally. Lots of people from the DFW Skate Club get their gear there.
I bought my skates on my birthday last october and this week is the first time using them... And holy shit i haven't done since i was 16 im 26 now and i need a lot of practice but i think i dont have the right skates to be this smooth
I watched this video a week ago. And then searched for a few more videos of city skating and got inspired to buy some inline skates at my age of 34. I just received them a couple of hours ago. I use to skate from 5 yrs old til 11. Did some stunts like jumping going down stairs and whatever ...but I just tried them on and its totally a new experience. Although I may be rusty as hell but I think Im going to catch on pretty quick. Anyways, i wanted to know if anybody city skates in Dallas often so we can meet up and skate the city. Uptown , downtown Dallas/DFW?????? Let me know. Im not a Dallas native so it would be pretty cool to get to know the city streets opposed to driving it.
On Facebook, look up DFW Inline Skate Club. I just joined and plan to go to my first meet with them next week. Apparently they do a group skate in Dallas every Tuesday evening around 7:30 pm. I’ll be joining them for the first time next week.
Alexander The Great I’m in the same boat as you. I used to skate every day when I was kid and now I’m 30 and excited to get back into it. I’m also in Dallas near the Northpark mall area. Send me an email.
Hey! Come to Tuesday Night Skate meet at Katy Trail Parking lot! We go every week that the weather allows and ride the trail and the city. Some cyclists and longboarders in our group as well. You can join this facebook page for the DFW Inline Skate Club to keep up with what we're doing each week. facebook.com/groups/161534614047682
Please make more tutorials there is very less stuff on inline skate tutorials on youtube and we are learning from you so please load more exercises and drills on how to improve can make videos for you also from my country if you like love peace 🌹
YOO! I love to skate in Dallas! I literally speed skate everyday and im on a hunt for skaters as I skate with alot of skate boarders . Please please hit me up! Im also a film maker and love to shoot while skating. Lets definitely connect as im on the look for skaters like yourself that enjoy the city!
This was a super fun tour and flow. Love the narration and City Skating passion/description. Huge thanks for the shout out D!
Glad you liked it, Bill! Thanks for the kind words! Keep rolling, brother!
Totally agree
Skating the different textures in the city is just too true, I especially love the variation of the roads. Some are fast and some are slow, sometimes the smooth ones aren't even the fastest.
Respect! The road's changes can present new challenges. That's what I love about city skating! Cheers!

There is no better way to explore any environment. I, too, wish I had discovered city skating sooner but that’s ok. I’m having a blast with it now.
when ever i city skate in my quads people always are really happy to see me and tell me to be careful lol. i love the unpredictability unique terrain and joy in street skating especially somewhere ive never been! ps im form dallas
You will see your hometown in a whole new light if you explore it on skates! We promise!
I bought skates to go on cycle path then I found Bill channel then i start city skating and wow thats like discovering a new world.
thx nice vid.
I’m going to grab my Seba’s and take on my hometown of Canton, Oh and then move onto Cleveland eventually. Really excited. Thanks for the inspiration
It’s interesting to see a skater from Texarkana uploading great content. I just moved from Texarkana to Dallas, keep it up 💯
I'm in Dallas now. Look up the DFW Inline Skate Club on Facebook and maybe we'll get to skate together sometime.

I get plenty of looks when skating in the city, some good some bad. When I review my video footage I see tons of heads turned, people are curious.
I think the curiosity is probably good. At least the activity is recognised I think people generally regard it as fun even if it’s not for them. I think anyone who regularly cycles in a city ( at least in the UK) has some horror stories so skates are doing ok I reckon. Good skating and stay safe.

Double D Skate
It’s Taiwan not Thailand.
Haha! Sorry, I must have misread. I love Taiwan!
I like your style its pretty cool and the video makes fun for more !
really good. like the commentary. hope you make more vids like this. all the best
Thanks! Next time I'll make Dustin help with the commentary though!
